Bank rate +0.25% to 0.5%. 7 votes to 2. Not seeing any reaction of note anywhere yet.

BT is a strange beast.

I was with EE for years, BT bought them over not long ago, they now use EE to host Plusnet mobile and Plusnet have been aggressive in signing up mobile customers.

So I've moved from EE to Plusnet, getting 4 times the number of call minutes and four times the data for less than before - £6 a month.

So in my case, they are cannibalizing their business.

I've had a look at BT results. It's usually a good economic indicator besides getting cheap enough to interest me as a possible investment. I note just about all measures show a marginally weaker trend in Q2 than H1. The measure of cashflow I watch for was down about 9% for H1 but about 13% down for Q2 so the fall from Q1 to Q2 at -5% to -13% is quite steep. That was enough to make me continue to sit on the sidelines and wonder if it reflects the rest of the economy.

I have yet to complain about our new BT Infinity but it is still giving us frequent short interruptions to supply and actually seems a little slower at times. I probably will complain when the kids go back to school. They already checked the line and replaced the end junction, and we have the new modem. Bearing in mind that I've met another local who complained about the same thing, I'm wondering about local capacity issues.

Decent trading update from INTU, wonder if that can stem the decline in the sp?

RSA profits ahead of last year but not by as much as they hoped.

Good half year report from TATE

Bubbles usually go on longer than people expect before they burst. They still burst, though. It does feel like it is coming soon, though.

Tesla to need refinancing within 3 quarters? Avoid the shares. Avoid the products. Don't buy from a company that won't be there to sort any problems out. Maybe if/when they raise capital and stop losing so much money .....

Tesla finished with about $3.5 billion in cash on hand after blowing through another $1.4 billion during Q3.

+0.46% today, {FTSE250 +0.50%]

Highest value risers : BLT +3.3%, BGO +3.2%, GVC +1.3%, KCOM +2.9%, IGR +1.4%, BGFD +2.5%.

Worst value fallers : BA. -1.9%, BMS -1.5%, TCAP -1%.

QP. became CLIN in the form of shares + cash today as per scheme of arrangement / takeover completed, gain to Folio +68% since February.

So I'm to expect the expanding credit bubble bursting at any minute and knock financial shares for six, very sobering, reading BEG's red flag report.

I'm up +0.157% on the day todday (FTSE100 -0.068%).

Best rises: INDV +7.87%, S32 +4.32% and BLT +3.27%.

Worst falls: MKS -4.45%, ADM -3.48% and RB. -2.36%.

Some wild swings in price today. INDV is now my biggest rise YTD, +35%, and beind it come ULVR +29%, SMDS +28.5% and S32 +27.1%. Biggest falls YTD have been CLLN -81%, BT.A -29%, MARS -20.7% and PSON -14%.Very odd how every morning the FTSE100 has a good rise, only to give it up by the end of the day.

Pub lunch today, a nice roast lamb at the Jack & Jill. +7°C first thing, but probably no more than +12°C during the day.

Interesting experience today.

A couple of weeks ago I bought a large planter to repot a Camelia which had outgrown its existing one. I partly bought it because it was covered in Union Jacks and they claimed to be the only remaining UK manufacturer of such things.

A little research showed they were not too far away near Hadrians wall and had a Factory Shop. So today we paid them a visit. They sounded very British.

hxxp://shop.erringtonreay.co.uk/about_us

First impressions were not encouraging. Factory site was a tip with old pots and pallets everywhere. Then a neat stack of full pallets caught my eye. " Well at least they wrap things well for despatch" I thought. Closer examination showed they were labeled "made in Vietnam". And a quick shufty in the kiln showed it probably hadn't operated in ages.

Grrrr!!

After a bad year at US cinema box offices, not rescued by the new Bladerunner flop, now they are arguing about how to split falling film distribution revenues.

Tesla Q3 results after the close should be interesting. An analyst this week argued Tesla could run out of cash in 12 months and slapped on a target share price of half the current one. There have been suggestions of quality issues as they move from aluminium to steel bodies for the cheaper cars. It was said they are having to learn to weld.

Looks like I am lagging a bit today with +0.18% for the SIPP thanks to BRCI, AV. & BP. and +0.37% for the pot thanks to AIEA, MACF & LLOY

Confirmed turnover for October keeping us around +10% above last year against a budgeted +5% so quite happy with that.

Trolley patrol this evening I believe, followed by The Apprentice with Doc Martin being recorded.

Lots of Blue today and I managed a new all time high earlier in the day. Alas it did not last but I am nevertheless pleased to report +0.74%.

VED is the stand out best value riser with CINE and MGNS acting as good running mates. Value fallers are in short supply but RPC takes the wooden spoon.

An enjoyable day out today but it felt cold all day and, despite trying several times, the sun never really managed to burn through the cloud cover.

Quite a bit of blue about today but the cherry was 5%+ at BEG. +1.4% on the day and a new high for the year.

A bright start but soon turned grey and hazy, so it had a somewhat gloomy wintery feel, although not too cold at 12.0C after 8.3C overnight. I see they are winding the forecast down for a cooler than average week ahead, then a cold damp week with snow on hills in the North, then drier and colder for H2 Nov.

Blimey Skinny, it's not a relaxing holiday then!

I did fire off an email to HL yesterday after looking at the income screen as the income and re-purchase of units didn't match on one of my funds, but when I looked on the transactions page all was correct so I had to email again to say ignore message!

EDIT: Sorry Skinny, I see what you mean now. That's useful info, I can see at a glance I have to keep working! My query was with the Income history in the "cash" area.

That should hammer home a 0.25% rise. It's worth remembering that UK manufacturing PMI rose to over 56 at the end of 2007.
