31/10/2017 14:17 | Bearing in mind I have to travel over 112 speed bumps every single working day, this could make my life so much better! | mrphil
31/10/2017 12:18 | Thanks for the heads up Malcolm, glad you escaped! | mrphil
31/10/2017 12:17 | Thanks for that junior21, the story is listed on 27th October but, rather like the construction.co.uk article it doesn't really go into details from BDEV's viewpoint. Seems a large project to walk away from without any word! | mrphil
31/10/2017 12:16 | Beware, yet another scam.Just had a phone call purporting to be from the tax office, saying a tax fraud case has been lodged against me,of course it is time sensitive and phone the given number back straight away so I hung up! It appears that they are trageting mainly the elderly Bloody cheek I may be according to my sister in law officially a Grumpy old man but I'm not daft yet. | malcolm caton
31/10/2017 12:09 | MRPHIL, you can usually view these articles for free via morningstar uk. I can't see today's news just yet, may have to wait until tomorrow? | junior21
31/10/2017 11:47 | More signs of increasing development | mrphil
31/10/2017 11:45 | Would be nice to get BDEV's take on this there's just one news item on the thread and that's from ALNC which I refuse to pay for so I can't read it! | mrphil
31/10/2017 11:37 | Still seems to be plenty of new developments going on | mrphil
31/10/2017 10:02 | Some UK bellwethers: | aleman
31/10/2017 09:30 | A bit dull here too Aleman making it a dreary cold autumn day. At least there is still a bit of colour around, even if most of the specimen trees have finished now. The red oak in our woods has lost most of its colour, but the sweet chestnuts have some stunning yellow and gold in the leaves. Strangely, the Almond is still in full leaf. There were a lot of fallers from the cooking pear, but there are still loads on the tree so I think we'll be getting through some red wine and cinnamon sticks in the slow cooker! I see ZOO is having another go. I had set in my mind a sell price of 60p but now we are virtually there I'm wondering whether to hang on a bit longer. EDIT: Seemed sensible to sell some at 60.5p ;-) | mrphil
31/10/2017 08:24 | Yes - and the Pre-close from WJG. | skinny
31/10/2017 08:23 | Market likes results from BP. :-) | mrphil
31/10/2017 07:55 | Morning All. Well we only actually managed a high of 9.9°C yesterday which was a surprise as it felt much warmer in the sunshine out in The Solent! The low last night was 4.9°C which was quite an improvement on Sunday night's 2.9°C! Last ever George Gently was a bit corny but worth watching. Been starting to stock up again on Euros as we are seeing some strengthening of the pound over the past few days. | mrphil
30/10/2017 22:37 | +0.05% today with risers and faller pretty much evenly split. MGNS is today's best value riser and ICP is today's worst value faller. A lovely sunny day but the air temperature was cold, especially so in the shade. I agree with Aleman, it felt like a nice crisp winter's day. :-) | hyden
30/10/2017 20:13 | -0.04% today, [FTSE250 +0.33% FTSE All-Share -0.13%] Worst value fallers HSBA -1.5%, PHTM -3.4%, MCL -4.4%, RTC -6.1%, BMS -1.9%. Highest value risers : MGP +3.2%, QP. +2.4%, LLPC +1%, K3C +5.3%. Apart from HSBA where the good news was already in the price all the action being in the smallcaps. Drifting high cloud, the sun never got out sufficiently to warm up, max temp 10C | blueliner
30/10/2017 18:05 | I'm down -0.073% on the day today (FTSE100 -0.229%). Worst falls: BATS -2.09%, TSCO -1.94% and NG. -1.33%. Best rises: INDV +4.01%, KGF +2.03% and WMH +1.41%. Several companies reporting this week, BP. tomorrow, then BT.A, INDV, RDSB and TATE on Thursday. Could be why INDV rose. TSCO is waiting for the CMA report on their merger with Booker. Just about freezing first thing. Time to put the short-sleeved shirts away and dig out scarf and gloves. DF | deanforester
30/10/2017 17:54 | +0.5% for me. A mixed bag but bigger holdings were blue. Not warm here. It was mostly sunny but a bit of high cloud made it watery and it felt chilly under the cloudier bits. We reached 10.3C but it was a touch cooler on the road than in our garden. 7-9C was more typical at near Met Office stations and it felt a bit like a nice winter's day. Chilly indoors, too. I carved a pumpkin for No.1. I have to say it is a good first ever attempt. | aleman
30/10/2017 17:04 | Skinny, believe it or not it actually felt warm out there in the sunshine, albeit a bit of a cool breeze in my face when I took that picture at around 25 knots! | mrphil
30/10/2017 16:55 | Similar view here MrP - not! My SIPP finished down 0.09%. A bright Sunny day, but feeling decidedly nippy. | skinny
30/10/2017 16:42 | Strange day with the SIPP losing -0.18% mainly due to ZOO but also LLOY & NG. whereas AMS took the pot up by +0.78% aided by SGC & RDSB Last episode of George Gently this evening, in front of a warm log burner! | mrphil
30/10/2017 15:05 | Been naughty and had an extended lunch on the boat today. Well with clear blue skies and no wind it just had to be done! AMS having another great run today, what a great pity I only have a fifth of my original holding, bought at 10.95p! | mrphil
30/10/2017 11:54 | You are welcome Mr P. I still owe you from RGD.Not sure what happens next. I imagine there is a chunk of speculative money in there so could fall as rapidly as it rose. Those Lakeland roads can be pretty narrow. You did much better than me as last time I stayed a week there I destroyed two tyres on a protruding rock including an almost was brand new one. Had a lovely day walking in Lower Swaledale yesterday from Downholme to Grinton and back. Sunny, blue skies and still plenty of autumn colour. Dropped in at the Bolton Arms after the walk and seems a very cosy traditional pub. May pop back for a meal some time. | shadowside |
