Junk bond yields have fallen too low as defaults start to rise. Can they readjust without contagion?

I don't see many away fans out ours, bl. Plymouth have a long trip to get to us and it will be 3 weeks after the same league fixture. I bet they are disappointed with the draw so I suppose we should be pleased. Always funny repeating the same fixture so close together, though. It's rare to get the same result. A draw then a win would fit the bill!

Fairly level for the first two days of the trading week, remaining blue.

Highest value risers : IGR +2.8%, UPGS +8.8%, MCLS +2.1%.

Worst value fallers : ISAT -4.2%, BGO -3%, MANX -1.5%.

GSK -1.3% continue to do me no favours, testing times for the new CEO.

I'll take Oxford City at home over Bradford anytime Aleman. Had a small hit list of teams to avoid in the draw.

I'm down -0.441% on the day today (FTSE100 -0.650%).

Worst falls: KGF -2.87%, S32 -2.29% and AZN -2.09%.

Best rises: WMH +4.33%, SSE +2.62% and BP. +0.69%.

IMB didn't hold onto its rise this morning. SSE announced talks with innogy SE, owner of Npower, about merging their gas and electricity retail businesses. WMH continues on its merry way.

Still raining lightly.

+0.4%. Not quite sure how I managed it as there is a lot of red in there but it helps if you have a good rise on your biggest hold - 2%+ on BEG.

A milder night at 5.8C. The day started cloudy and got worse - greyer, windier, wetter and colder. The high was 11.5C some time in mid-morning but it cooled as the rain came and we now have a chilly damp 6C with could expected to clear soon.

wllmherk - have you had a look through trustnet as a starting point for ideas?

Ouch! -0.86% today with some heavy fallers. CINE is the worst value faller, closely followed by ISAT and KAZ. CKN is the best value gainer.

The only bright spot is my top up on GFS which looks like I managed very near the low of the say. :-)

Fair point Shadowside!

SIPP -0.21% INTU, GSK & CTO and the pot -0.65% AMS, LLOY & LGEN and that was despite a good effort from SSE in the SIPP!

Been pouring with rain for a good part of the afternoon. We had intended to walk to our local cinema this evening to see the new Agatha Christie, but I'm not sure I fancy a walk in the cold and (very) wet! I think the Leaf will be in service!

Have been getting frustrated with INTU but the share price is just getting plain silly now and I'm actually looking to top up rather than sell up!

More on global warming ... sorry, climate change ... sorry, exteme weather ... can't we call it global cooling yet or are the taxes not yet in place?

2016 was a 30-year low for French wine production. This year is much lower. (When it says extreme weather, it means 3 years of unseasonal frosts:)

A good report from IMB today, with the dividend rise continued, +10% for the full year. is the RNS. I see no justification for the fall from £40 last November to the present 3165p. Second on my top-up list after BT.A.

+9°C with light rain this morning, quite a change from yesterday's -2°C.

This all follows on a gloomy CBI survey

Primark actually repoorted good numbers but the media clearly want a recession to blame on Brexit (even though the uncertainty is due to lack of Brexit).

Morning all,

Turning wet and windy and looks as if is set in for the day.

Finally changed wiper blades on XF yesterday. Much easier than anticipated and was able to do from the parked position. Quieter than the old ones although given they are almost 9 years old they look in pretty good nick. I remember the days when changeing wiper blades was almost an annual event.

My lot seem becalmed so far this month and nothing much has happened either up or down.

Paradise Papers seem to have knocked Westminster sleaze out of the headlines. They need to do something to sort out tax avoidance ( evasion?). Its just ridiculous that ordinary people pay their taxes and rich people don't. A few in the slammer might help focus minds.

Enjoy the mild weather while it lasts as it will be soon gone. Snow showers are forecasted all week on Scottish mountains, and are expected to be more widespread by the weekend, even extending to Northern hills. There must be a climate change conference on!

It has not started raining here yet so I finally mowed the lawns. It looks so much tidier without leaves and twigs, even if there is a large pile of white ash in the middle of the back one.

Morning All.

I think last night's low was around the time I left to go out about 7:30 when it was around 7°C and had already risen to 10°C by the time I came home around 10:30. A bit damp this morning which might scupper our plans for lunch on board.

Good luck with your diversifying wllm, I have a bit of a mix in my SIPP, with a few Investment Trusts thrown in for good measure. Didn't realise one of my recent good performers is ASCI which, unfortunately, is now only a very small holding. Others include BRCI & HFEL, both of which have done OK and offer a decent yield.

Aleman, LCG seems to have gone back to sleep of late, I guess patience is required!
