As National Grid deals with the fallout from @tempusenergy capacity market court victory, was intrigued to see the chair of Tempus’s advisory board is ex-National Grid boss Steve Holliday. Even more intriguingly...he says he isn’t and has “absolutely no involvement with Tempus”.

GSK will be in the firing line if Corbyn does get in. Taking 10% of its equity on behalf of GSKs staff but only giving the staff £500/year from the dividends and keeping the rest to fund free student uni grants undertaking a multitude of courses that is of no value to society. Also, putting a cap on profits from medicine and installing Union officials in the ‘Board Room’.

Also may force Unilever to delist from LSE. Many institutional investors may not appose it if the threat becomes real?

Good luck

Unilever and gsk, judge for yourself.

Edit: I felt yesterday that the weakness here could well be the market's reaction to the idea that the Tory disarray could well lead to an Election that Corbyn's crew might win.

Troubling times for the markets.

Crazy because just after the referendum when the markets took stock of the UK voting out of the EU, the share price of secure stock like Utilities went through the roof.

All this political gaming is just playing into the hands of Hedge Funds betting against our economy.

That's for ADRS - the ordinary shares go ex dividend on 22nd.

According to the above link the ex dividend date is the 21st Nov. However the Record date is the 23rd which would normally be one day after ex divi date i.e. the 22nd Nov.

According to The Share Centre, sharebuyers have been keenly purchasing National Grid (average price £8 in the last month), attracted by its dividend yield of 5.4 per cent.

Its ironic that Deutsche (who always have a downer on NG) recommended just a 'HOLD' on Monday 5th Nov when the Interims were published today. Gives me the impression that they do not carry out effective research / evaluation on results but just publish a negative because of their mission. ie, I would have thought before making any recommendations one would be wise to wait a couple of days to evaluate on facts rather than speculation unless it IS truly a 'Downer' to try and influence based on a motive.

UtyINV; I'll not get into the rights and or wrongs of Nationalisation it's simply the fear of what might happen over the next 6 to 12 months that led me to buying into NG. and whilst I feel NG is a "safe" haven for my cash I consider alternatives & reasons when I see a stock moving against the tide of trading.
