02/5/2019 21:01 | I watched the match. Barcelona were generally controlled by Liverpool for most of the match apart from their superb first goal. Their second goal came from a LFC mistake and their third was a goal keeping /defensive error rather than a world-class free-kick. Liverpool had just as many attempt on goals but failed to hit the back of the net. Don't believe me? Look at the statistics. Virgil had a good game. You have to question Klopp for playing Gomez - who has been out all season - rather than Trent, and I have no idea why he would not play Firmino from the start and ended-up playing Wijnaldum in some 'ghost' number 9 position; a position in which he has never played before for LFC. Perhaps Klopp, being a German, was over-engineering a simple problem? Anyway, I'm not bitter. It is just a game. Love Suarez, he is so entertaining to watch. I can't see LFC coming back from 3-0 down. Hope Ajax win the competition if LFC get knocked out. LFC are moving in the right direction, unlike Man U who are quickly becoming very average. 02/5/2019 08:27 | Morning Yertiz Agree about the money aspect of football. Re garden furniture, we inherited a pair of beautiful cast iron garden seat ends. I need to get them sand blasted and painted before replacing the slats. Must get started on them next week!! I see White might be leaving Exeter to try for a Wallaby place. Good player. Do you think Porky is crying in his cornflakes? | brexitplus
02/5/2019 08:22 | Getting I listened to the game and read comment this morning. Van Dijk didn’t come out of it very well - sounded a bit static. Robertson on the other hand seemed to play well. | brexitplus
02/5/2019 08:15 | It was another Men against Boys game. Barcelona deliberately sat back in second half and hit them on the break time after time. Liverpool couldn’t handle it. Interesting how poor Van Dijk looked when up against the Barca attack, given he is the best player in Premier League. What does that say about Premier League?? | gettingrichslow
02/5/2019 06:59 | Yertiz Pity about Liverpool last night. Perhaps Spurs will carry the flag for British football. | brexitplus

01/5/2019 17:39 | BURFORD. Oh dear, not another one. Are brexitplus, getting etc. jinxed, cursed or bewitched? Are they the victims of an evil form of voodoo? Would these two & any other holders involved in PLUS500 (now MINUS1000) and Burford Capital (soon to be Burford Kaputal) please advise me of what other stocks they hold, so that I can avoid them. | meanwhile
01/5/2019 16:55 | Tournesol Good idea. Brother in law retires in les than 3 years and is wondering what to do. I imagine that with your wine knowledge we will make a killing on the booze. Am currently making liver casserole (with shallots and home cured bacon), and have just cooked a ham. Mrs B+ in the garden. Vegetables coming on, but a long way to go the beat those of Raymond Blanc and Tommy Banks!!!😊 | brexitplus

01/5/2019 16:35 | Tournesol Apologies. I was thinking apple and cinnamon (a coupling made in heaven) and not concentrating on the cake aspect. Yours sounds rather better than the sainted Mary’s. Reminds me of the sainted Margaret!!! I’m not a dab hand at cakes, sadly. My brother in law - the civil engineer - really is good at puddings (I hate calling them ‘deserts’ | brexitplus
01/5/2019 14:13 | I'd like to speak up for Mary Berry's Cinnamon apple cake. It is easy, foolproof, delicious and looks like a million dollars. It is now a firm favourite in my baking repertoire. All Hail Mary Berry. | tournesol
