If Porky feels so strongly about Remain, surely he should offer himself as a candidate to the ChangeUK party, him being a genius and former business wizard.

Hypocracy abounds...

How much coverage did the BBC give to the servicemen protesting against the persecution of those who put their lives on the line in N Ireland? And we pay them a licence fee??

Corbyn would get the address wrong after getting the date of St George’s Day wrong.

You couldn’t give the IRA the death penalty. It’s against their human rights. Pardon them and prosecute soldiers instead. Great protest by servicemen in London. Better be careful though, Porky will happily set the IRA on you like he threatened poor old Meanlodge.

Talking of protests, did you see the huge amount of litter left by the environmental protesters??

Brexit Party launch of candidates this morning was excellent. No sitting on the fence like the main parties.

Hope you had a good weekend.

Look as if Argyle looking safe earlier need to fight for every point now.

My team, Tonbridge Angels, named after its former ground which was behind the Angel Hotel and hosted county cricket before the war, won its important match against Carshalton yesterday and are in the playoffs of the Premier Division of the Isthmian League. A good friend who is on the committee says it’s a mixed blessing as its good for the club but would be very expensive if promoted as travel costs would become very high. Average gate over the past few weeks is 800.

Walking down the main street of my local town yesterday, it was my rare privilege to find a Chateau Pichon Longueville Comtesse de Lalande 1982 from Pauillac in Bordeaux, just lying by the side of the road, and in fine fettle despite being 37 years old.
Unfortunately a local drunk had consumed it so I missed the opportunity to savour its delicate elegance and its fruit and gentle, dusty tannins.

Off topic - Specially for Brexitplus

An old friend in poor health has been forbidden to drink alcohol and has prevailed on me to empty his wine cellar to remove temptation. Most of the bottles I've opened have been very very dead and should have been drunk years ago. But last night was a glorious exception. It was my rare privilege to find a
Chateau Pichon Longueville Comtesse de Lalande 1982 from Pauillac in Bordeaux and in fine fettle despite being 37 years old. I'm sure it would have been even better 10, 15 or 20 years ago but it is still elegant, delicate and delicious even now. Though not a traditional accompaniment for roast chicken it went beautifully with dinner. Its fruit and gentle, dusty tannins were still evident. I bowed to my wife's counsel not to drink the whole bottle so there is half* left which will come out tonight. Fingers crossed.

*obviously I've not left it in an open bottle where the exposure to oxygen would finish it off pronto. It's decanted gently into a fresh half bottle and tightly stoppered to give it the best chance of surviving just one more day.

MEANWHILE - "is my belief that you are an 'old git'." Oh yes my man, much older than you haha.

Losos,

Thank you for your kind words and your understanding of my condition, as perceived by youself.

I may have been too harsh with you at times and am now prepared to withdraw almost all of my past criticisms of you.
The only one I would like to keep, and not withdraw, is my belief that you are an 'old git'.

Getting, enjoy your last day.

I’ve had my bike out this morning for a quick maintenance and will be off for a ride later. Lovely weather, lunch in the garden, and hotting up.

Last full day in Gran Canaria today and out on the bikes again. Good point about the AirMiles - I need to check - I've always found that the best way to use them is to upgrade an Economy ticket to Business Class on USA flights, effectively 'saving' about £3,000. On Grahamburn's point, I think he used to make some good points around the time of the GKN saga, yes they were generally from The Times, but what's wrong with that?? One of the issues is that there is very little newsflow as B+ pointed out...

I thought he was going in the garden? Has he taken his tablet with him just in case. Propped it up next to the rhubarb?

"Yes, I wonder what Getting is up to - obviously enjoying himself to the full"

Yes, probably deep in conversation and having drinks with men who like to take the chance of taking HIV back to their loyal wives - he probably does the same when in Vegas. Cheers!
