Morning Jackdaw

Yes, it was pretty stormy. We only had 50mph gusts but higher in the Bristol Channel.

Have a good trip when you get started. What boat do you have?

Glaws v Exeter final?

I listened to both matches and both disappointed. Exeter need to play for 80 minutes and Glaws need to convert pressure and chances.

Argyle on the slippery slope.

In these weird and illogical times, when what a person does is far less important than what he writes or says, or said 10 years ago for that matter, I find the stock market a little haven of logical stability.
Each morning, with occasional exceptions, it starts where it left off the night before and, as one body, drifts gently in one direction or the other. The individual exceptions, like PLUS500 (now re-named MINUS500x2 after losing 2x500p in a single day), are always explainable and add a bit of excitement to the general drift.

This is the case with Melrose. Now yertiz believes I have no MRO shares while getting thinks I may have but can't understand why I don't sell them. brexitplus thinks about what he can have for sunday dinner and tournesol is looking to the next bottle of french coloured water. Who knows, but I must have an interest in MRO, maybe only as a case for study.

So why would they move forward as they have in the last few months? The answer can only be sentiment. But what has the market heard to base the sentiment on?
In the absence of company news, the answer must lie with the management.
I believe that the 4 directors who took £42M each last year have spent it all already. The uplifted lifestyle this has provided for them now takes a lot to keep up and, their annual salaries not being enough for this, they are now looking towards building the next bonus.
However, as a stopgap, they could sell a few shares. This requires them to propel the share price to an artificially high level for the sale.

So, watch out for director sales.

getting,
Rover, the dog here.

"Do the chairs in your parlor seem empty and bare?
Do you gaze at your doorstep and picture me there?
Is your heart filled with pain, shall I come back again?
Tell me dear, are you lonesome tonight?"

Meanwhile, I may well be in Denver in June, possibly July on a business trip. Is your previous offer of staying in your Colorado log cabin still available? Please confirm. I was thinking that if the answer is 'yes', then we could meet up in the Mile High City for a few Coors' Lite on the Sunday before my Monday meetings. I could even explain the basics of rights issues to you as a little favour?

Mabel the Chow Chow is away in Torquay and not contactable at present. Although she barks more sense than the Gruesome Twosome.

Plus500 Ltd, the CFD provider, used to have a fair bit of attention on this board,
presumably from some holders of the shares.

I've tried to find some information on the origin of the 'Plus500' name, without any success at all, so I've no idea where it arose.

If they were to change their name to 'Minus1000', I would have a better idea though.

Many thanks, however my sailing boat does not take the ground, we need 2 metres of water.Harbours that dry out are not on the agenda.

The plan so far is Newlyn,Scillies,Padstow,Fishguard,Pwelli,Hollyhead and Douglas IOM. Then over to Ireland and onwards to Jockland.

Jackdaw, the bits to avoid are the bit that goes around the bottom, the bit that goes up the left side, the bit that goes around the top, and all the inland bit. If you stick to that guidance you'll enjoy yourself (and be safer).

I will shortly be setting sail around the UK, fine weather only.

Is there any place on the Welsh Coast that I need to avoid ,I start in Jersy and I intend to stop over for a few days in Pwllheli before Douglas Isle of Man , this gives me a little opportunity to take in the local Welsh culture

Apart from Snorwdonia should I call at Aberystwyth Aberdovey, Barmouth and Porthmadog any help on understanding the complexities of the locals would be appreciated.

Once in Scottish waters any problem recedes as I have a sign on the yacht that says "Nicola for me Scottish Independence would give you what you want and save me money"
