I don't see getting's posts these days but I take it he's been describing some
orgy he attended.

He's an unfortunate simpleton, who is easily impressed and easily led, and desires only to do what others do but too a greater excess. He's totally lacking in original thought and self will.
I suppose somebody loves him though, which is a little to his credit.

Keyno observes, of brexitplus (the mountain nymph) :-

"Over the months I've noticed that he simply can't resist having the last word".

The causes of this 'last word syndrome' are well known, of course, and this extract from an article in 'marketingeye' describes the affliction very well.

"Do you know someone who always has to have the last word in a conversation or an argument? Everyone has come across this type of person and knows how frustrating or plain sad it is when you see it.
Having the last word is closely associated with ego. Egomaniacs always have to have the last word. It gives them a feeling of power, as if they immediate draw all of the power of the person they are communicating with and become powerful due to it.

This feeling is short-lived as it is only a state of mind, and most people who have any sense of understanding of human psychology knows that people that do this are only doing it because they feel insecure, competitive, hardheaded and lack confidence often in their own intellect or are in need of covering tracks.

Greek Methodology explains this well. Echo, a mountain nymph, had to have the last word in everything, and it was her undoing. While Echo was beautiful with a musical voice, and people enjoyed hearing her talk, this eventually went to her head. Echo took so much pleasure in having the last word in both arguments and normal conversations, that eventually it became her undoing. As the story goes, she fell in love with Narcissus, and he rejected her. In return she begged him not to. Narcissus broke her heart and Echo wasted away and was doomed to a very sad life.

A person who has to have the last word is fundamentally flawed. Their flaws are for the world to see. They may be charismatic and draw people in, but if you listen to their conversations and in the modern age, look at their posts on social media, you will see a common thread of egocentricity and a need for supremacy.
Those who have to have the last word feel uncomfortable when that power is taken away from them and they usually end up fighting or in an argument because this has been taken away from them. They lash out and look for ways to rectify this.

People with this "disease" usually strive to be the only voice over the people around them. They often never rise to the top in career or business, so they adapt their personal profiles so that they can be seen as "winning" in some area that they feel no-one can compete. "

"That is the difference between a first-class human and one that lives in the gutter"

So tell us Minerve, is someone who wishes brain tumours on others on investment discussion boards a 'first class human' or 'one that lives in the gutter'?

Or how about someone who mocks still-births?

No cowardly dodging the question this time please!

If I had desires on other ladies, which I don't because my GF is gorgeous, I would have the decency and respect for my current partner to tell her the truth before anything happened. I certainly wouldn't have an affair and I certainly wouldn't brag about it or drink over it. That is the difference between a first-class human and one that lives in the gutter. I certainly wouldn't think it was worth making fun of on an internet BB. I wouldn't even have entertained drinks with the scumbag either. I guess male humans generally are just degenerating back to neanderthal times. There are only a few decent males still around.

Keyno, happy to say I am as regular as clockwork.

As for assistance you are obviously out of the loop. Isn't it common knowledge that Porky needs his mummy to change his nappy, and Meanlodge needs someone to wipe his backside.

How about you?

Apologies one and all. I couldn't resist trying to get Brexit to describe his bowel movements to a complete stranger on a financial bulletin board. Naughty I know........ Over the months I've noticed that he simply can't resist having the last word, bless, though I am still waiting for his definition of "assistance".

Meanwhile, I seem to remember you saying you played a bit of golf in your younger days. I played today with a friend in Gran Canaria and we were paired up with a Swede and a German both of whom were very entertaining. To cut a long story short, the German was having an affair with his secretary who was staying in an apartment on her own down the road. The Swede was very impressed by this and insisted on buying us all a peculiar liqueur in the bar afterwards to celebrate the 'honesty' of the German. In terms of my round, I got an 89 which I was very pleased with on a long and challenging course. I birdied the 18th with a little chip and run from just off the green with a 7 iron. I also had a putt for an eagle on the longest par 5 on the course but unfortunately missed it (left arm rotated and then the hands took over, which as I'm sure you know is never good) then triple putted for a par. Can you let me know if you want any more information on the details of the round? Also, let me know if Ryelodge wants any more info?

Just wondering, how were your bowel movements today? Just joking, no need to answer.

Actually, I’ve just caught up with the Exeter v Wasps match. Exeter not playing at full pelt. One or two bad bounces.

Beetroot planted. Love roast beetroot.

And for those who want something Melrose related, news being rather light at the moment

“Nortek Security & Control LLC, a provider of wireless security, home automation, access control and health and wellness technology, introduced the 2GIG eSeries, the next generation of the 2GIG security and control ecosystem that includes two all-new GC2e and GC3e panels and a new line of encrypted sensors. The introduction was made at ISC West 2019 in Nortek Security & Control Booth #20015 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

According to Nortek Security & Control Vice President of Products Quinto Petrucci, the 2GIG eSeries offers both end-users and dealers an enhanced security and control ecosystem that builds on the reliability and peace-of-mind that are synonymous with the 2GIG name.”

Christ alive, all this talk about what some of you eat is beyond boring. Your choices are so mundane. Still, I suppose I should feel grateful that you are not discussing your bowel movements as well.

On the other hand, give it time.............

We are just finishing last year’s purple sprouting. So tender.

First early potatoes are through.

Courgette and cucumber seeds have germinated in pots ready to plant when have collected a big load of well rotten manure. I know the best manure originates in Cheshire and Snowdonia but good old Gloucestershire muck is fine for us. Not so arrogant, if you know what I mean.

And with the lovely weather coming I’ll be planting the first beetroot seeds.

Yes, Manolete on the up again. Am watching carefully.

Cold here with a little rain. Family gone home.

PS. Do you hold Smithson Investment Trust? Up 21% since October.

Very nice, B+ - sun is shining (finally) air temperature now 15 degrees C and the veg plot just about turned over. Had salmon last night with tagliatelle and a home made parsley sauce.

Now to plant my onion sets, canelloni beans (full sized, not the dwarf imposters) purple sprouting and mouli radish. Runner beans, peas. parsnips and cavolo nero will have to wait a day or two.

Easyjet making a good comeback.
Evraz having a sparkling day
Manolete an even better one.

Enjoy your salmon.

Ryelodge

unfortunately greater transparency and identity disclosure does not in any way inhibit fantasists

you need only look at our political class to see ample evidence that people indulge in fantasies and untruths even when their name appears in the byline.

look at D Trump for example. Fantasist par excellence and a complete stranger to the concept of truth. And don't get me started on domestic politics.
