29/9/2018 11:49 | getting I don't spend enough time in male group hugs like you to compare. I like more female company and none of them have complained. Your GF or wife must be a bore for all that time you choose to go away! Which brings me to the question, do you actually have a GF/wife or are you gay? Do you actually have family? Do they bore you? Maybe you are a DINK like Brexit. That would explain a lot. | minerve
29/9/2018 11:07 | getting I was actually watching Sunday Sport girls - in gym outfits - strip completely naked to "Push it" , and very nice it was too! How many year's ago? A long time. 30 years ago? Not this week! LOL And I am sure, in Vegas you will not be doting on scantily dressed young ladies who serve you? LOL I've moved on, matured, got classy. You haven't. You are still in the 6th form. | minerve
29/9/2018 09:45 | hvs, what do you make of this benefits cheat who didn't work for 30 years due to 'a slightly tender knee' but claimed £68,000 of benefits and a free house?? | gettingrichslow
29/9/2018 09:33 | Yes it's going to be quite an experience as there are 18 of us flying out from various places all funded by a friend who is selling his business and wants a big party. I suspect he'll have all sorts of things planned for when we get there because he wants it to be a big and memorable event. We take our clubs but many don't these days. I couldn't do without my specific driver and lob wedge! You're right about the course in Paris. Need to stay on the fairways but the Americans aren't used to that approach! | gettingrichslow
29/9/2018 08:38 | You must be really looking forward to Vegas. Do you take your own clubs or hire there? lol !!!! lol !!!! Says it all. | hvs
29/9/2018 08:35 | Morning getting. Yes, very weird. Talking to yourself on a board!!! Only stopped when teacher turned the lights and internet off. Ryder Cup looks very competitive, but I think we have some good pairings. Odd course with what looks like hardly any driving holes. Lots of water. You must be really looking forward to Vegas. Do you take your own clubs or hire there? | brexitplus
28/9/2018 23:01 | Goodness me. What a load of drivel on here from Meanwhile tonight. Couldn't even make it to the end as I was losing the will to live. Has he been smoking something tonight or what? Sheep poo probably. B+, yes, just a fantastic day of golf in Paris. Poulter on fire. I'm starting to think about going to the next one in the USA. Vegas now 4 days away. We're playing Bear's Best on one of the days (Nicklaus course) which I've wanted to play for years. | gettingrichslow
28/9/2018 19:44 | Life must be very boring where you live to post this rubbish on a Friday night. Or you are a very boring person. Probably both to the max. | brexitplus
28/9/2018 18:46 | I'm not sure, ryelodge, but I do think they believe in fairies & goblins. | meanwhile
28/9/2018 18:44 | getting, I must have been quick there to post twice under different names at almost the same time. | meanwhile
28/9/2018 18:41 | Surely the MRO cheerleaders here believe in the Capital Asset Pricing Model? | ryelodge
28/9/2018 18:40 | We all have our own strengths and weaknesses. When we start to deal with people, or communicate with them, the strengths often emerge first because many people are keen to talk or even brag about them. The weaknesses generally emerge much later as they are exposed only by events or disputes. Losos for example, on this site, has obvious strengths in dog matters and in gardening, and valuable strengths they are to have. If he has weaknesses, one may be that he's too tolerant and trusting. His use of 'haha' very often, I would personally put as a strength. With the chap getting, it's much harder to pin down since he doesn't seem to have any qualities to be either strong or weak in. With brexit+, roast beef dinners and other food matters come across as a 'property', either strength or weakness, and the ability to chat about subjects irrelevant to most other people, like owning dogs for example, although this is of interest to Losos in this case. Talking about where he's been is another, which I would personally put down as a weakness, unless it was to somewhere distant like the North Pole or Everest. I think I would add his financial 'acumen', a word I seldom use, to his weaknesses and this has been amply demonstrated over the last few months, but notably yesterday and again today. He clearly hasn't grasped the concept of the term 'value', believing it to be some intrinsic property of an article or entity, including traded companies, rather than a variable price that an individual or the market is willing to pay. This basic failing in brexit now explains many of his previous nonsensical pronouncements. 'Play to your strengths' one of my teachers used to advise us. This is good advice for all of us but especially to brexit+. Let's have a little more from you on roast beef, dogs, big rivers crossed, mountains climbed etc. and much less please on Melrose and other finance matters. | meanwhile
28/9/2018 18:20 | Getting Now something much more important. Great day at the Ryder Cup. | brexitplus
28/9/2018 17:20 | bnrexit, You are wrong as usual. The enterprise value is rather different. Investopedia says :- The Enterprise Value, or EV for short, is a measure of a company's total value, often used as a more comprehensive alternative to equity market capitalization. Enterprise value is calculated as the market capitalization plus debt, minority interest and preferred shares, minus total cash and cash equivalents. What I supplied was the value of the businesses. I didn't include cash but that should be taken account of in the market cap. figure. Of course the figure changes day by day, as does that of every listed company. Do you have a figure that remains constant? In such a case, you must believe that this figure is more credible that what the market thinks. Let's have your figure. I must say that when I buy or sell shares I get the market figure. Do you get something else? | meanwhile
28/9/2018 15:43 | Oh you clever little chap. When do you go to big school? Re your calculation, what you have supplied is the Enterprise Value, which of course changes from day to day with the share price A very simplistic approach if I may say so. | brexitplus
28/9/2018 14:28 | There you see, getting, I'm now operating under 4 names on the same day. | meanwhile
28/9/2018 13:42 | You has been warned. Watch and learn. Its a CLUB they make EASY MONEY whereever they goes even at age 70. Pirc, the shareholder advisory group, said that it had significant concerns about the appointment, which will put Ms Stevens in charge of determining bonus policy at the miner less than a year after reaping £1.8 million as part of a contentious bonus award at GKN. melrose board a bunch of pircs to pay what they did , a lot of fees for lawyers and bankers and BONUSES all round. | hvs
28/9/2018 13:35 | Here is a calculation. Market Cap pre GKN £4.5bn (Nortek + Brush). GKN purchased £8bn (I know debt + shares were used) Market Cap now £9.9bn MRO performance since that first Nortek RNS that took it to 260p - dismal. Two years of f all owning this. | dodger16
28/9/2018 13:02 | Here's a little calculation for getting. MRO shares now at realistic level of £2. Capitalisation ~ £10B Debt ~ £4B Sentiment ~ £0B Therefore businesses valued by market at ~ £14B. When you add up the current estimated values of all the individual MRO businesses, that's about what you get. Wonderful. | meanwhile |
