Getting. For some reason he obviously hates my guts and loves Zimmer with a passion. It’s very worrying. He takes great exception to me posting items which in my opinion add to the intrinsic value of both Nortek and GKN. Of course I ignore this complaint since it helps Losos, a real gentleman, and others. To have a “huge” holding of Melrose and denigrate any positive posts about the Company is truly weird.

B+, I've no idea what has happened to Meanwhile. I mean that quite genuinely. If you go back to pre-GKN days and read some of his posts they make a lot of sense, and there is a real sense of charm and wit to many of them. Then during the GKN saga he started posting those utterly ridiculous 'calculations' which revealed that he simply doesn't understand how rights issues work, thus completely over-stating his perceived gains. Then Minerve and Meanwhile's bromance began which seems to have completely addled his brain to the point where he slates MRO at every turn despite remaining invested. Then to top it all he creates Ryelodge, and as he sees support for his increasingly bizarre posts ebb away he creates the sinister and frankly worrying hvs!! I'm starting to fear for his sanity.

Ryelodge/Meanwhile, you still haven't explained why you have nearly all your money invested in a company you think overpaid for GKN and whose share price is 'going nowhere'. Come on hvs/Ryelodge, has you got an answer or is you irrational?

Zimmer summed himself up perfectly over on Lloyds

“There is no wonder I have utter contempt for most of society. It doesn't deserve my respect.”

That’s 7+ billion people. What a sad and angry man!!! What has life done to him to make him like this?

The former chief executive of GKN has been put in charge of pay at Anglo American, months after taking home an estimated £2.5 million from her 16-week stint leading the engineering group’s unsuccessful defence against an £8 billion takeover bid.

Anne Stevens, 70, will take over as chairwoman of the remuneration committee at the mining group in January when Sir Philip Hampton, who presided over a pay revolt in 2016, retires.

Pirc, the shareholder advisory group, said that it had significant concerns about the appointment, which will put Ms Stevens in charge of determining bonus policy at the miner less than a year after reaping £1.8 million as part of a contentious bonus award at GKN.

Morning getting

You’ve been busy. I agree about AA. Not good results. Potholes and bad weather??? Surely that’s what they are there for. Excuses.

Re Next, it was interesting when it first started. Good concept and good quality. Mrs Brexitplus was a regular customer. Today it sells, to quote Gerald Ratner, “rubbish.̶1; Pile it high, sell it cheap, poor quality. There are much better stores out there. By the way, we have a new John Lewis opening in Cheltenham in a couple of weeks.

If we knew the address we could crowdfund the the furry cushion for Zimmer’s girl friend!!! Cheshire style.

I loved MW’s piece on me. Journalistically could have come from the Express. Only one correct fact which is that he is Zimmer’s friend. Still if it pleases him. Nothing else to do out in the wilds.

Vegas coming up soon for you. We’re planning a trip to Italy. I love Italian food.

Just had a look. You can get a pink furry cushion with 'OMG!' on it in gold sequins for £11.99. That might go down well in the 'footballer's wives' parts of Cheshire but not here!

It's a valiant attempt at defending a very poor set of results Minny. It's a dog basically. PS Next is a 'chav' shop selling low quality, slightly tacky home furnishings. Another insight into your lifestyle though...

Now here's a company that's definitely going 'nowhere fast' - AA - dividend slashed by 83% after more terrible results, share price down another 13%. Don't tell me Minerve, you sold out yesterday!

Good post MEANWHILE.

I've certainly stopped dialogue with the two individuals. Enough is enough. The fun has disappeared and the Brexit 75 RPM has truly got stuck; getting must be his needle.

More MRO de-ramping tonight from the man who claims to have £250k in MRO! And bear in mind that he has told us more than once that he holds very little else apart from a small stake in B&M Retail. You couldn't make it up - stake all your money on a company that you are convinced overpaid in their biggest deal yet - then bleat on endlessly about how the shares are going nowhere fast - but then still hold on to them!! MEANWHILE, hvs, Ryelodge - whichever one you are today, are you aware that you can do a SELL trade? Do you have any neighbours who may be able to help you work your computer and find the SELL button? Jeeeeezzzz!

The meaning of the word 'sentiment', according to the Oxford English Dictionary.
(Now this is relevant to MRO because our resident 'sage of the Cotswolds' believes this is driving the MRO price.)

"A view or opinion that is held or expressed. Exaggerated and self-indulgent feelings of tenderness, sadness, or nostalgia".

Doesn't that say everything about our colleague?
Is he now better named 'the sage of sentiment'?

Thanks Losos.

Mrs Losos obviously has good taste in choosing your Newfoundlands, and if I may be so bold, in choosing you, a real gentleman.

Sadly there are some on this board who if I said “Black is black” would automatically say “No, Black is white.” I pity them. Still I suppose there is nothing better to do up there in Bandit Country.

Anyway, I am still waiting for proof that I have given any predictions, other than the interim and annual report day finish share prices, always a bit of fun. As you will remember minerve was horribly wrong first time when MW didn’t give a price, obviously due to total lack of confidence in his calculations, when I won by putting my finger in the air and making a good guess, and I was wrong the second time when I believe Mattboxy won the competition, and neither MW or minerve took part.

Also, I am still waiting, as I am sure you are, for the Definitive Guide to Small Company Investing.

Oh well, off for those blackberries. I still have some crumble from last night - it was a huge dish. A vegetarian pasta tonight.
