17/9/2018 12:18 | getting You are wrong about the young demographic. They travel more, communicate more and with it they are more accepting of others and different cultures. Their willingness to accept people here in the UK is matched by their willingness to be transient and work and study abroad too. As they get older they will not return to the 'them and us' mentality. Globalisation isn't going to reverse either. Those that think otherwise will just become marginalised. As far as becoming right-wing I am not convinced by that either. The wealth poverty divide is far more visible than it has ever been and the young are more driven by the sense of injustice than ever before. You only need to see Labour party numbers to witness that. When the millions come out of university with debts, can't get on the housing ladder until their mid-30s (if at all) and need to put more towards a pension than ever before they will not be thinking right-wing for sure. Traditional right-wing will soon be dead and it is attempting its last hurrah via Brexit, but eventually it will fail, and whichever party is centrist will win the day. New Labour realised that decades ago and the Tory right-wing are going to have to swallow that too eventually. Just a matter of time. | minerve
17/9/2018 12:02 | Minerve, yes the young tend to be pro-EU. But they then get older and more knowledgeable and become less pro-EU. This is a long established thing. A bit like young people tend to be more socialist until they reach their late 20s and start questioning the level of taxes they pay, then move to the right. Our population is getting older by the way which is likely to favour the Conservatives. | gettingrichslow
17/9/2018 11:52 | for my friend getting : Getting to know you, Putting it my way, But nicely, You are precisely, My cup of tea. | meanwhile
17/9/2018 11:36 | I also had a dream last night. I went on holiday with Minerve. Losos, you bemoan an activity, whereas you bemown the lawn. | meanwhile
17/9/2018 11:32 | I actually read that getting. Filter off - for the day. Hey, at least the lib dems will still have a party in 5 years. Tories are looking at the abyss. Average age of a Tory party member is 72 I believe. That doesn't look good if you ask me and the young demographic are pro EU! Oh dear! | minerve
17/9/2018 11:22 | Losos, unlikely you'll ever come face to face with Minny unless you go to the Lib Dem conference (plenty of spare free tickets available for that)! | gettingrichslow
17/9/2018 11:08 | B+ Sorry I've been AWOL for a few days and missed your announcement of your niece's wedding. Glad it all went well and both you and Mrs. B+ enjoyed the day. I think weddings are great and I often bemown the fact that fewer people are taking this route in their lives. Nearly all my portfolio down today, oh well maybe time to pick up a few MRO haha. Seems the banter is continuing, I had a bad dream last night, I dreamt I actually came face to face with Minerve, woke up in a sweat haha. | losos
17/9/2018 10:33 | Getting, another good day for Plus on a poor day elsewhere. Are Zimmer and Rye playing up again? Poor souls. Nothing else to do in their tiny little lives. Sad. | brexitplus
17/9/2018 09:52 | Ryelodge, yes that's a really good point so I'm going to start following your logic patterns from now on. Step 1 - state repeatedly that Melrose shares are 'going nowhere fast' post GKN saga Step 2 - express outrage at the management for their remuneration package Step 3 - keep all your eggs in one basket and make that basket...Melrose!! Great logic that Ryelodge!! Care to explain? | gettingrichslow
17/9/2018 09:37 | getting's logic is flawed. He concludes "Meanwhile thinks I'm a fool; now ryelodge thinks I'm a fool. 2 people can't independently think I'm a fool so they must be the same person." False logic. Many people can, and do, think you're a fool simultaneously. Others think you're a moron. It's a remote consequence of the 'Uncertainty Principle'. | meanwhile
17/9/2018 07:46 | Getting Yes weather was great, niece stunning, as was Mrs Brexitplus. Re Tier, no idea. | brexitplus
16/9/2018 21:56 | And presumably great weather too! Any idea what Meanwhile is on about with his Tier 1 / Tier 3 comments? | gettingrichslow
16/9/2018 21:31 | Getting Fantastic wedding. Dancing went on until about 1.30am. About 4 hours sleep. Great food. Am now totally knackered. | brexitplus
15/9/2018 14:57 | These legacy Melrose groupies are so Tier 3. How long before some GKN Tier 1 class rubs off on them? | ryelodge
14/9/2018 20:54 | You could be right there Tournesol! Come on Minerve, admit it, are you Serwotka?? | gettingrichslow
14/9/2018 20:18 | Personally I suspect he is Mark Serwotka the left wing union leader who is in the news for his anti semitic conspiracy theories. MS started out as a benefits clerk and has ended up leading the biggest civil service trade union. He is a friend of jeremy and characterises Conservative Politicians as "despicable". | tournesol
14/9/2018 18:11 | Me neither. Spooky. | brexitplus
14/9/2018 17:32 | They are certainly similar. Both very bitter about pretty much everything. Both hate seeing others being more successful than they are. So I guess it's possible and I've never see Minerve and Ian Bone In the same room together! | gettingrichslow
14/9/2018 17:05 | Thanks getting. We intend to. By the way, do you think that minerve is actually Ian Bone, the Class War idiot who doorstepped the excellent Jacob Rees-Mogg and had a go at his children. Similar types I think. Would have loved Bone to talk to me like that. Of course JRM laughed it off and his children were model citizens. | brexitplus
14/9/2018 15:28 | B+, hope you have a fantastic day, GRS. | gettingrichslow
14/9/2018 14:27 | Just finished the interesting thing I was doing. Cup of tea and dark chocolate digestive biscuit. Now on to the most exciting event of the weekend. Getting prepared for our beautiful niece's wedding tomorrow. Tea finished, biscuit eaten. Got to go. Bye. | brexitplus
14/9/2018 10:35 | getting, just get back to your work as Minerve has instructed you to do. You workshy types are responsible for the decline in UK productivity. When you do get time off, just relax & unwind. Take a walk in the woods. If you go down in the woods today, you're sure of a big surprise, If you go down in the woods today, you'd better go in disguise, For every bear that ever there was will gather there for certain Because today's the day the Teddy Bears have their picnic. Have a nice time there yours faithfully ryelodge, minerve, meanwhile, vhs, that other feller etc. | meanwhile
