Sorry, I'm not going to give my email address to something I don't generally need. We will just have to wait and see about Airbus. As I said, if I was an employee I would put more weight on a senior executive's word than a nobody like you. No offence, nothing personal. I think most would agree.

As far as food and restaurants are concerned I've done pretty much the whole gamut.

Anecdotes are just that. One chef, one person. Each to his own.

Have a good evening. :)

Look the article up on the Telegraph website. You can get one article per week free.

Can’t be bothered with special characters.

Regarding Michelin food, we had a Michelin chef friend who regularly stayed and cooked for us in our own home. Best meal - pan fried foie gras with a lovely Mercurey white. I can’t remember the year.

Top restaurants I tend to think rather over priced, frequented by pompous people who want to impress, and pretentious. Chef agreed.

brexitplus, I think you mean "Côte Brasserie". If you need help on special character entry I can help you. Never been to one but I am sure it isn't a hole in my life.

The article?

M, I think you mean “snobbery̶1;. Actually Cote Brasserie is a small restaurant chain, but very good.

I think you said a couple of day ago that you have never had fish and chips. Make up your mind.

If you want top Michelin restaurants I've been to a few of the best in the world. Some use vodka to clean the glassware, Cristofle cutlery and the ladies are escorted to the ladies room. You forget I was a founder of a listed company. I've been into places your wallet can't get into.

Having said that, I still like a good old serving of fish & chips near a harbour somewhere. Just reminding you that if you get into a snoberry game with me, you will lose. ;)

I can't comment on the Airbus anger because I haven't seen the article. You can either copy the article (up to you), I'm not going to subscribe.

Thanks Losos. I really like English wine. Lamberhurst whites are excellent as are Three Choirs in Newent near to us. We stayed very close the Rathfinny vineyard at Alfriston. Their sparkling is very good. Tried some yesterday.

M, Bills is just another run of the mill “restaurant221; wherever is is. Food is average. Cote Brasserie is far superior. By the way, you didn’t comment on the Airbus Anger.

I don't think you could afford the bill at Bills. It might be ordinary in your ghost town but in Manchester it is reasonably upmarket. You would look out of place. Old and past it - that sort of thing - no offence, nothing personal.

She were 6 ft away and didn’t know who she was. She smiled, probably because we were covered in sweat. No sign of Bill Nighy.

I think that headline is a little warped on the reality. But do continue.

Clue: contract for what exactly? What are they buying?

Answer!

M, you obviously didn’t see the Telegraph. Front page headline was

“Airbus bosses are furious after the Government spurred them to publish a dire forecast of the impact of Brexit before handing a prize £2bn RAF contract to US rival Boeing without a competition”.

I wouldn’t dare to make comments on Airbus’ behalf.

I must be a champagne socialist then because I can buy you out many times over.

I don't know why I should have rage, that should be you.

You are the one with the lowest net-worth on this thread IMO. LOL

But do continue buttercup, you at least provide some snowflake entertainment.

All business won by GKN is excellent news - far better this than to lose out through the myriad of excuses the Remoaners shout about.

And for you, Minerve, I thought you were supposed to be well read? For a regular No.2 everyone knows as an adult male you need the fibre of THREE Weetabix, no wonder you're so full of sh......

But I'm making assumptions here, one, that you are male and two, you are an adult?

Let us wait and see.

All I can say is, if I was an Airbus employee, some words from a casual small-time investor wouldn't carry the same weight as from a senior executive with regards to my future employment. ;)

M, Sounds like a wonderful day.

Of course, RR might not have extended the contract because of Melrose ownership.

And Airbus obviously says what the Remainers want.

Got up this morning. Sun shining. Had two Weetabix.

Nice cheese and pickle sandwich for lunch. Had a very large wonderful meal at Bills yesterday. Ham and pea salad followed by cod burger with fries. Margarita followed with espresso martini for the drinks.

Nice evening to relax in the garden, but it might be interrupted as I have yet to go for my regular No 2.

Evening folks!

If you knew about the F35 program you would know those contracts were on the cards for years. Nothing to do with the current Melrose management. Just future orders on a popular aircraft.

More EXCELLENT GLN NEWS. Obviously with Melrose ownership GKN is going to the dogs, no-one will work with them, and there are mass redundancies!!!!

1 GKN Aerospace has inked a four-year agreement with Lockheed Martin to expand its production of bulkheads for the Lockheed Martin F-35 Lightning II, starting this year. The bulkheads are a critical structure in both the conventional takeoff and landing version and the carrier version of the fighter. They require the longest lead time of any F-35 part and represent among the largest titanium forgings produced for any aircraft.

The production work will be performed at GKN facilities in Amityville, New York, and Wellington, Kansas. GKN also supplies the F-35 program with critical engine components, electrical wiring interconnection systems, canopies, and advanced composite structures. It also holds contracts for in-flight opening doors and the landing gear brace. The UK company, which was recently taken over my venture capital company Melrose, also services and maintains the landing gear for the European and Pacific F-35 fleets.

2 GKN Aerospace and Rolls-Royce, have formalised an agreement for the manufacturing of inner core fairings for the Rolls-Royce Trent 1000 and 84,000lb-thrust Trent XWB engine programmes through 2026 at the Farnborough International Airshow (FIA).

The multi-million dollar, 10-year programme contract is another milestone in a long-term business relationship between GKN and Rolls-Royce that currently includes the company providing exotic metals and advanced complex structures for Trent engines. The contract will be fulfilled at the GKN Aerospace facility in Santa Ana, California, which also produces engine fairings, metallic honeycomb structures used in exhaust systems and shrouds for major commercial and military programs.
