01/11/2012 14:03 | Well done LO-Q top performer... | davidosh
01/11/2012 11:52 | New note out from Edison: They note that their forecasts are conservative, and that the "potential to increase useage in existing theme park operator customers and widen into new verticals provides significant upside potential". | rivaldo
31/10/2012 16:09 | Nice. Looks like our SB buddies are getting out after a massive 5p gain from yesterday..Should afford them a couple of pints and a bag of Cheese & Onion down their local plastic pub. spud | spud
31/10/2012 12:23 | Lots of positive comment from Canaccord, who have a 400p target price: "UPDATE: Lo-Q pushes ahead despite adverse weather 11:03 am by Philip Whiterow Now that the theme park operating season has substantially finished, park operators will turn to investment, said Canaccord. Lo-Q's (LON:LOQ) upbeat trading update was a pleasant surprise given the adverse weather conditions in the US and Europe, broker Canaccord said today. The virtual queuing technology specialist said it expects this year to show strong growth in revenue and profit while its cash position will be ahead of target. It added its strong performance was in spite of the hottest July on record in North America; the wettest summer since national records began in the UK and much of Europe; and the recent arrival of Hurricane Sandy, currently impacting America's east coast. Tom Burnet, Lo-Q's chief executive said the company had driven sales across its entire product suite and had also laid the groundwork for future expansion in to Asia, "which has the potential to be a hugely exciting market for us over the long-term". "As the theme park operating season comes to a close, operators are once again turning their attentions to the infrastructure investments that will sustain and improve their park visitor experience next year. "As in previous years, we expect this decision-making period to result in further positive news from Lo-Q in the months ahead." Broker Canaccord said the statement highlighted Lo-Q's strong execution capabilities and its desire to under-promise and over-deliver. The broker added earnings growth next year will be underpinned by new parks including Legoland Deutschland and 11 water park implementations moving towards profitability next year. Longer-term momentum will come from Lo-Q's new US theme park customer, Compagnie des Alpes's Q-Smart deal in Walibi Holland and the joint venture in Asia with the Sanderson Group. Early adoption rates for Lo-Q's new smartphone product have been strong, the broker added. These implementations, which should feature more in the company's business over time, require lower infrastructure investment and less labour expenditure. "The long term potential will be driven by opportunities with top-tier customers, new products (Q-Smart), new services (content and ticketing) and new geographies." Now that the theme park operating season has substantially finished, park operators will turn to investment, said Canaccord. Large theme park conferences are scheduled over the next month that Canaccord hopes will lead to significant contract announcements over the near term. The broker also wants Lo-Q to leverage its strong position and expand into related leisure market areas. After today's update, Canaccord left its underlying earnings (EBITDA) estimates for the year to October unchanged at £3.2 mln but lowered its revenue forecast to £29.0m from £30.1m. Shares rose slightly to 353p. Canaccord has a 400p target price." | rivaldo
31/10/2012 09:14 | The trading statement normally catalyses Institutional interest going forward, so would expect some activity in this area - It would be nice to lay a floor under the 350 level.spud | spud
31/10/2012 08:32 | with financial statements LOQ always under promise and over achieve unlike a lot of other companies. So, inline or broadly inline isn't anything to read in to IMHO | glyn10
31/10/2012 08:14 | No, PBT is 'in line' in both statements; it's revenue which is 'broadly' in line and cash which is ahead. | westcountryboy
31/10/2012 08:11 | Hmmm... "in line with expectations" in the title, then "broadly in line with expectations" in the narrative. So one assumes a bit less. Bit naughty that. | igbertsponk
31/10/2012 07:27 | Good trading update, with "strong year-on-year growth this year in revenue, profit before tax and net cash". PBT is in line with expectations, and net cash is above expectations. What were expectations re net cash - £8m, £10m, I can't remember offhand? Great to see Q-Band "has seen encouraging increases in customer adoption during the summer as park guests became increasingly familiar with the product and its benefits." It looks like LOQ are expecting to announce more news soon as usual in the winter contract announcements season: "As the theme park operating season comes to a close, operators are once again turning their attentions to the infrastructure investments that will sustain and improve their park visitor experience next year. As in previous years, we expect this decision-making period to result in further positive news from Lo-Q in the months ahead." | rivaldo

25/10/2012 14:33 | The President stated 'So, I think when you think about the way that we assess this, we feel fantastic about where we are. If you look over the last 12 months, our attendance overall has grown almost 8%.' I think season tickets clearly reduce entry fee revenues but increase attendance numbers. An additional 8% in the parks will be more than enough to make it feel very busy and encourage attendees to make the extra spend on a Q-bot. Has anyone attended a water park where the bands are being used ? | davidosh
25/10/2012 11:51 | Someone's just been mugged for a paultry 2000 shares at 384 when the bid-offer is 363-365. | itchycrack
25/10/2012 11:39 | Good news from Six Flags last night should bode reasonably well for LOQ. Attendances were up 3% and revenues were up 2% year on year, net income was up around 29% (primarily due to growth in more profitable season ticket purchases) and the results would have been even better without calendar shifts: Here's the conference call transcript. I can't see any specific mentions of Q-Bots or the water park Q-Bands, but it seems to me that Six Flags are very much on the up,and they have big growth plans for the coming year with a lot of new rides and attractions: | rivaldo
21/10/2012 19:23 | Daviddosh "I said surely someone could invent a waterproof cash holder for me to buy the kids drinks and ice creams?? There must have been 3000 plus in that water park as it is pretty big and some rides had queues for 40 minutes. They desperately need LOQ" ...such a payment thing does exist....finger print based | markt
21/10/2012 19:19 | ...congrats. to LOQ shareholders.....pri (one that I got wrong, I had a look around 80p ...and am sure that I had some once and sold to hop on something that looked faster moving at the time....shows that holding and waiting can reap good rewards....) looks like LOQ user base is expanding......but note that there are other possible tech. solutions appearring....such as use of finger prints.....already in use for payments and works in pools....(but that developer is not targetting the queuing market at present as far as I know) personally on the subject of patents etc....I dont think it will be the defining thing for the queuing market...(since can not patent all the different ways to provide a queuing system and any patent must be an invention, can not just protect a good design or any design...)....imho looks like support, product proven/tested, product volume availability, reliability, etc will be key factors...and for many of these factors there are probably not many players...and LOQ are probably one of the main players.... | markt
17/10/2012 22:19 | mtg - good to know you are long. CPX puzzles me. They don't seem to need the money they didn't get from the Chinese and everything seems to be happening the way it should be and yet the price remains very depressed. I guess it will either recover sharply or go bust. We wait. S | smarm
17/10/2012 22:13 | Hi Smarm -- shameless in my (DOWN thread) shorts I may be, but in LOQ I am long ;o) Doing OK ta - despite TAN and CPX messing things about a bit. Everything else going nicely. HR7 thread shows some of them. See also | m.t.glass
17/10/2012 19:08 | mtg - LOL - you shameless shorter you. How's tricks? S | smarm
17/10/2012 16:57 | Robbies' still keen (as well he should be..)but hasn't caught up with their Universal contract yet : LOQ shares which announced a brilliant contract win in the Netherlands - massive profits in this one where I have trebled my money but I feel more to come! spud | spud
17/10/2012 12:05 | Buy on the dips Glyn10, just put an order in and see if you get lucky. | itchycrack |
