15/6/2012 17:28 | Barclaycard / MasterCard interesting.. Under the terms of the MoU, Lo-Q and MasterCard will work together to develop a new contactless payment solution that combines MasterCard's Tap & Go(TM) PayPass(TM) payments technology with Lo-Q's innovative queuing software and systems. Once developed, Lo-Q and MasterCard will work closely together to market and promote this combined solution to the operators of theme parks, water parks and other entertainment attractions which normally require consumers to queue before use. spud | spud

12/6/2012 09:07 | LOQ were exhibiting in Asia last week - interesting to see the descriptions of the new products, particularly Q-Pay: "Lo-Q, the experts in virtual Queuing technology are at the IAAPA Asian Attractions Expo, 5-8 June 2012, booth #715. Come along to booth 715 and see how Lo-Q's virtual queuing technology can turn queue lines at theme parks, water parks and family attractions into revenue, while at the same time increase guest satisfaction scores. Try Lo-Q's revenue calculator or book an appointment at the show here. Q-bot Lo-Q's original virtual queuing solution, the Q-bot, continues to deliver revenues for theme parks, water parks and family attractions worldwide. Q-band The world's first virtual queuing solution for water parks, Q-band allows visitors to reserve water rides at a touchscreen kiosk. Q-band uses a waterproof RFID wristband and can be enhanced with cashless payment and access control features giving a product that increases both revenue and guest satisfaction. Q-pay - new With Q-pay, Lo-Q's mobile payment and ticketing solution, visitors are able to pay effortlessly for entrance tickets, ride reservation systems or products with no need to carry cash. 11/6/2012 17:28 | Glyn - Not at all. I have a price target of £5 for 2013. See post 8835. spud Edit - It's actually 420p on a multiple of 15 but in a favourable Market it could well be x20 and achievable. | spud
11/6/2012 16:11 | £5 here we come !!, OK maybe a bit optomistic short term, still good news though | glyn10
11/6/2012 09:43 | Could be a reaction to this, dated 2nd June, re Universal: "We have known for a while that Universal have been testing the Q-Bot virtual queuing system at the parks, but it appears, as of yesterday, they have started running it officially in Islands of Adventure..... ......We rang Universal and they told us that there is a $30 deposit to be paid on collection of the device and the device is good for up to 6 people but is priced per person and can be bought for as little as $21 per person. There are two different options, a limited and an unlimited reservation device, the limited option allows you to reserve each ride once, the unlimited option allows you to reserve times for the rides multiple times, either way only one ride can be reserved at a time. It seems at the moment that this is not a replacement for Express Pass or the Front of the Line access granted to Hotel Guests, but will run alongside both." | rivaldo

06/6/2012 13:22 | monty - you've got this one dead wrong - loq is the threat to qless, not vice versa. | supernumerary
06/6/2012 08:02 | Already examined that one earlier monty. A couple of weeks ago . We tried asking them to name some of their their main customers and they were unable to do so. | m.t.glass
05/6/2012 16:56 | Watch out for new mobile queing app. Called Qless I think could damage Lo-q. | montyhedge
05/6/2012 15:05 | As we have all been saying ; 'Plenty of potential' :-)) spud | spud
04/6/2012 22:26 | Lol....that clip would have been perfect if they had then shown a Qbot at Legoland and the smartphone app being used for the London Eye ! Do these BBC researchers not do their homework? | davidosh

25/5/2012 11:36 | Universal perhaps? spud | spud
25/5/2012 09:15 | A big rise yesterday, and more today already. More news on the way? The good weather will certainly help LOQ, especially over this weekend, though the UK is the smaller part of the operation. | rivaldo
21/5/2012 08:27 | Unable to online Spread Bet on LOQ this morning. Need to phone IGIndex to place anything? | 2cbg
17/5/2012 14:18 | Quite apart from the possibilities with Universal, I was reading an article about Merlin's recent results and musing the possibilities for LOQ-type queueing/ticketing following their London Eye trial: - Merlin is looking at building tourist observation towers at up to ten of its Sea Life parks in Europe - it's the world's second biggest leisure attraction operator behind Disney, including Tussauds, Thoroe Park and Alton Towers - it opened eight new attractions last year, including Legoland Florida, at a cost of £100m (I assume LOQ aren't yet in Legoland Florida even though they already cover Legoland UK?) - it acquired the Sydney Attractions Group for over £100m - annual visitor numbers are around 52m and rising, with further acquisitions likely in the Asia-Pacific region Plenty of potential expansion there methinks for LOQ following an existing customer around the world. | rivaldo
15/5/2012 16:08 | I think they have got it wrong although it may seem like everyone has one on busy days when the roller coaster is full of Q-Bot users. I asked what the likely maximum daily utilisation was at an AGM and was told about 15% but each partner at different parks may vary that slightly. It would be pointless if there was 100% useage as there would be NO main queue line and theoretically even 50% use would reduce the main queue dramatically and almost to a standstill presumably. It will be interesting to see how the water parks queues develop as in the intense hot sunshine these Q-bands may become 'must have' and the ability to spend cash on them will be a great add on via Mastercard. | davidosh
15/5/2012 13:02 | Interesting that the article claims 6 Flags is prepared to sell unlimited numbers of devices at their venues. That wasn't my understanding of how its used. Anybody know for sure? | shanklin
15/5/2012 12:28 | Nice rise, especially in these markets.... Another article (dated 4th May) about Universal's testing of the Q-Bot - good to see it gets a good review: | rivaldo
14/5/2012 17:07 | Yup all good - It's just a shame that the Market is temporarily broken, although when Greece does default, much will already be priced in. spud | spud |
