11/10/2012 16:16 | It's interesting that most contact wins since TB joined have been issued as non-regulatory RNSs, whereas the two most recent ones have been regualtory RNSs. Maybe it's because they are both material to the P&L? Or maybe it's just because they are careless with their RNS categorisation (lots of companies seem to put out PR guff under regulatory RNSs)? It's obviously the other party that does not want to be named, but why on earth not? A four-year commitment to use QBots is not something that they are going to be able to keep secret. It looks to me very much like Universal. If it is, I think that it is worth a lot more yet to the share price. | effortless cool

11/10/2012 12:30 | Nice list IgbertSponk (memorable name!), but just to say that the new one in Kent is Paramount Pictures, which is separate from Universal AFAICS: It could still be an obvious target for LOQ of course being in domestic territory. | rivaldo

11/10/2012 10:53 | Looks like LOQ's queuing technology is going to become a must have for every major leisure park and water park operator, with the likely exception of Disney who appear to suffer from "not invented here" syndrome :-) | shanklin

11/10/2012 10:06 | I think 'major' and the fact that we know from the theme park fanatics that Universal have been undertaking trials with the Qbot for a few months ahead of this suggests it will be them....nice to see a four year contract too ! If it is not Universal then it must be an operator with lots of water parks as well to be classed as major one would think. Within the theme park world and leisure attraction owners all these park contracts will be headline news and that builds great confidence with all the ever growing stable of products....we should see lots of these announcements over the next few months in all geographies I expect. | davidosh
11/10/2012 09:53 | more great news - Universal?? not sure realistically who the other major theme park operator would be | glyn10
11/10/2012 09:46 | News coming thick and fast - another contract win. Is this Universal? Or perhaps Disney (ho ho).... "Lo-Q plc (AIM: LOQ), the AIM-listed provider of virtual queuing systems for theme parks, water parks and major attractions, is pleased to announce that it has signed a new agreement (the "Agreement") with a major US theme park operator. The Agreement will see Lo-Q install Q-bot, its innovative virtual queuing system, at two of the operator's parks in the USA. Under the terms of the Agreement, the Q-bot solution will be installed in both parks for four years, with the option to extend this for a further two years. Revenue associated with the Agreement is expected to scale gradually, over time. In addition, the Agreement grants that Lo-Q's virtual queuing systems may be extended into additional theme and water parks within the USA and globally. " | rivaldo

10/10/2012 09:21 | Lo-Q's (LON:LOQ) chief executive Tom Burnet believes its first smartphone deal with a new theme park operator could be the first of many as customers start installing its mobile cloud-based booking system. | lucky_punter
09/10/2012 23:19 | Interview with TB - good to see him answering my earlier question about ski queues :o)) "Lo-Q smartphone deal could be first of many, says boss 2:51 pm by Jamie Nimmo Q-smart will allow park visitors to plan their day out beforehand on their handsets, skipping queues by booking tickets and times for rides in advance Lo-Q's (LON:LOQ) chief executive Tom Burnet believes its first smartphone deal with a new theme park operator could be the first of many as customers start installing its mobile cloud-based booking system. The three-year agreement with French operator Compagnie des Alpes will see the queuing specialist's Q-smart smartphone software launched at its Walabi Holland theme park one of the biggest in the Netherlands in time for the traditionally busy Halloween season. The system will allow park visitors to plan their day out beforehand on their handsets, skipping queues by booking tickets and times for rides in advance. The shift to smartphones will also save Lo-Q money as it will no longer need to set up sales offices at parks to pick up a queuing device. Smartphones represent a significant opportunity for Lo-Q given their widespread usage, especially among theme park enthusiasts. While Walabi will just be using the smartphone technology at its park, chief executive Tom Burnet believes most of Lo-Q's existing customers will add smartphone as an alternative to its original product Q-bot. "Depending on the demographic of the parks we're talking to in terms of future business, I think most customers will choose to go for a hybrid some Q-bot, some smartphone," he said. Burnet said this is because not everyone has a smartphone, while battery issues and roaming charges abroad will also play a part for users. However, in a few years this could all change, he adds. "In two or three years' time, people won't be thinking about roaming charges, they won't be thinking about the cost of data everybody will be using their phones all the time, all over the world without thinking about it." The deal with Compagnies des Alpes which runs 36 parks across Europe, including 21 leisure parks (such as Parc Asterix, Grévin, Walibi) and 15 major ski resorts in the Alps is also another step forward for the company, which now has another avenue along which to grow. "We're now working with five out of the top ten operators in the world by attendance," said Burnet. "In every case, we've grown penetration into those park groups over time. "I don't know for sure whether that will happen with Compagnie des Alpes, but if we do a good job, if we can make them money and if we're improving guest satisfaction, our experience tells us that operators are then keen to give us more work." Ski resorts are also something Burnet would consider looking at, given the number of resorts on Compagnie des Alpes' books. "If there's a constructive way to monetise that in a way that improves guest experience, I'd be surprised if there wasn't a good conversation to be had," he added. Shares in the company rose 20 pence or 6.5% to 323 pence on the news." | rivaldo
