Governments should not force other peoples cultures on local people.....

If you don`t like foreigners bunging up the local amenities, housing, doctors,

hospitals etc etc..... It as nothing to do with being shameful or a disgrace!

We should not be judged by somebody else`s......political dogma.....

Well, I'm hoping Hard-Brexit has a life span of less two weeks. We will see. Hopefully parliament will kill off ERG if May can't. It will then take the wind out of the sails of the Hard-Brexit buffoons. All this has empowered morons all over the country. They need to get back to accepting they know very little about life and that is why they should allow others to make decisions for them.

Labour’s Chuka Umunna and the Tory MP Anna Soubry…

Nothing centrist about them maxk!

Oh, it's The Guardian. Well, they would have a rather odd view on the subject.

Also, my comment about that girl wishing to come home.....it is not because of her that she shouldn't come home, it is because I fear the witch hunters and medieval neanderthals amongst us would want to take the law into their own hands and intimidate her and her family. Innocent until proven guilty remember.

I watched C4 news one night which reported on the bullying and intimidation a Syrian family had received in this country after they had sought sanctuary in the UK from the war zone in Syria. The situation was that bad that they actually wanted to return to their homeland. What a shameful and disgraceful nation we have become. Driven by prejudice and ignorance. I noted that this intimidation happened in Yorkshire. No surprise there I guess. I can't think of a more insular place in the whole of the UK apart from perhaps Stoke. Thankfully they were moved to another part of the UK where locals may have a better acceptance and understanding of other cultures and don't feel threatened through lack of self-esteem and ignorance.

I noticed that our children had to actually strike to make a point about climate change. Any adult who ignores this concern and dismisses it should be ashamed. It is disgraceful that it has actually reached this point. The elder generations have ruined the futures of our children - great shame on them. The decent amongst us should help them, it is their future, not ours.

As it happens, I have 21 stocks to follow ATM. That is a full-time job. It is my business and I earn from it way more than you could ever earn AZ209. I enjoy it. I enjoy reading the FT, the WSJ and business press. It is my business. In between that I enjoy teasing and arguing with some of you dimwits. I actually don't need the money, but I like the challenge. Would I give this up to sit on a beach, put some leathers on and go for a sweaty bike ride? No. The chimps will just have to accept that intellects need more to life than simple bike rides.

bbalanjones - "But IT SEEMS TO ME that such a sentiment gets the debate no further. PEOPLES VOTE NOW."

I was responding to an article that said that we ARE obliged to cough-up. You missed out my reasoning explaining why I thought that we should NOT be obliged to cough-up.

It was not intended to get the debate any further.

What "peoples vote" are you talking about? I'm probably missing something, because we had a peoples vote. You can't be suggesting that we have another one, as that would be undemocratic, so I guess you mean something else - or are you from Nigeria?

Obviously you do have things to occupy your time, but they are so boring and unexciting, that you always feel the need to come to ADVFN to check on.......wait for it.......wait for it.........not a share, but what Minerve is doing! How sad is that?

Ever wondered why you haven't got anywhere in life?

I know why. ;)

willoicc, when Minerve says he filters someone, he doesn't really. Posting and reading on ADVFN is his lifeblood. He has nothing else in his life to occupy his time. If he filtered all the people he says he has then he would have no one left to argue with.

"I'm not a lawyer, but it seems to me that, having given notice of our intention to leave this club that has drained some £200bn net of our resources since we joined, we should not have to pay anymore after we leave, nor a leaving pressie to the EU."

Seven upticks so far!! But IT SEEMS TO ME that such a sentiment gets the debate no further. PEOPLES VOTE NOW.

The beneficiaries are the insiders...as for the divi think RBS results has set a benchmark...so Lloy will probably follow with an increase divi...no special divi due to unknown Brexit outcome...

I would also prefer if they paid staff bonuses by purchasing shares directly from the open market from profits, rather than the continued dilution of the shareholder stake through the issue of new shares.

Couple of previews:

What to watch out for in Lloyds’s 2018 annual results

----------------------

Lloyds Banking Group PLC (LON:LLOY) will update the market on Wednesday, with the group’s shares - a favourite amongst private client investors - having had a torrid 2018, falling by around 25%.

The market will be looking at areas such as cost-cutting, Lloyds’ net interest margin, dividends and more information on its new strategy plan.

With its business being predominately UK based and as a large mortgage provider any comments regarding the housing market and Brexit will be worth noting.

There may also be an update on recent rumours that it intends to beef up its presence in wealth management.
