I wouldn't look to ADVFN for any serious views on things. This site is a circus full of animals, morons and freaks.

#383. Do the opposite of the majority view and you have a higher probability of being more accurate.

Frankly those who think we shouldn't pay that bill are morons and idiots. That is why they haven't got anywhere in their sad little lives and that is why they are blaming the EU. Just the next excuse on their long list for their own failings and lowly achievements.

cp:-

David Davis and others have suggested the UK could leave the EU without paying the £39 billion “divorce bill” designed to cover our outstanding financial commitments to Brussels.

A House of Lords report from 2017 says that we won’t be bound by EU law after Brexit, and so we could get out of paying the bill. But that report is contentious. Irrespective of our membership of the EU, we are still bound to our financial commitments under international law.

And it’s worth remembering that even beyond the legal issues, reneging on our financial obligations is likely to make any free trade deal with Europe, or other potential partners, politically impossible.

ps Our obligations under the current Budget round are legal until the end of 2020.

EU have been taking us for mugs for years. They are not our friends. Tusk let the mask slip the other day with his "special place in hell" remark. Keep our £39 billion we can spend it better than them, Boris was right...let them go whistle.

Expect to receive full gain on Lloy bearish options expiring today. Need to wait for results to reassess going forward. Also holding some open bullish positions which I plan to keep with an expectation of good results.
Always with some danger playing both ends of the candle.

Roll up Roll up!! Plenty of money to be made in ANY Brexit deal. The mugs are ready for the NHS takeover; the lowering of Food Import standards; restriction of Working Rights. Loads more bargains in the Cemetery - just pop-in and see.

Loads-a-money.

It looks like we are getting top man as CFO. Mr Chalmers coming from GS brings a lot of experience and knowledge with him.

If the EU don't want to be presented as an enemy then they should stop acting like an enemy.

Probably should also have included if she was not a dual-national prior to departure.

btw. I have a personal dislike of individuals' 'passport shopping' and believe that holding only one passport should be permitted.

"However Lord Carlile, a former independent reviewer of terrorism legislation, said Ms Begum would have to be accepted back into the UK if she had not become a national of any other country.

Under international law, it is not possible to render a person stateless."

Bad luck guys. Looking forward to her return and hopefully she can come back quick enough to have the baby on the NHS. Using your tax money!

ROFLMAO!

One option is conspicuously missing i.e. no significant change.

As framed the question looks like yet another propaganda effort.
