The point is you say London do nothing for the North of England then you do nothing either.

People in the City will also spend their money wherever they like - same as you.

Why is that ok for you but not for others?

I founded a company that gave employment to people of all capabilities and we kept manufacture in this country, so I think you are blaming the wrong person if you are looking towards someone who hasn't supported the UK economy.

As far as cars are concerned I will buy the car that best suits my needs and budget. I don't care where it is made. It is down to the UK government to make us competitive, but competitive in a good way. Not competitive by watering down employment law and treating employees like scum.

I do admire German engineering.

The wall is a waste of money. As soon as a decent government gets in, they may just bring the wall down. It has become a symbol and will be used accordingly.

So Minerve it is all London's fault.

Nothing to do with people like you who would rather give jobs to Mercedes car workers rather than workers in the North of England.

London has done nothing for us in the North of England. London has become a cesspit. It sucks the life and opportunity out of the rest of England, Wales and Scotland. Concessions from the EU are always requested for The City. The City is a nest for bad foreign money and money laundering; Arabs, Russians, Greeks, billionaire aristocracy and hereditary privilege. I've watched parts of Wales, Scotland and Northern England fall to ruin whilst London pampers itself.

Personally, if The City was nuked and the fall-out was within the M25 that would be the best solution ever for the rest of the UK.

The union of the United Kingdom hasn't worked for us in the North of England. Happy to let the union of Europe take control. London has had enough chances and always results in a fail.

I've changed my mind on that young girl. After reading about her, listening to stuff and reading the posts here, I think she is best staying out of this country.

For me, it would be better if the regular final dividend was simply increased. Special dividends are great in a one off situation (e.g. sale of an asset), but they can be, and will be taken away again without warning as in 2018 dividend.

If regular dividend is increased, then the increase is more likely to remain and be sustained in future years.

I would also prefer if they paid staff bonuses by purchasing shares directly from the open market from profits, rather than the continued dilution of the shareholder stake through the issue of new shares.

For what its worth, I will be disappointed if the final is any less than 2.15p; but then, what would I know?? Have a great weekend folks.

I'm not a lawyer, but it seems to me that, having given notice of our intention to leave this club that has drained some £200bn net of our resources since we joined, we should not have to pay anymore after we leave, nor a leaving pressie to the EU.

After all, the idea is that the whole of the EU should benefit from budgetary payments, and as we will no longer be in the EU, and as it appears that the EU wish to create as much economic harm as possible to us, we certainly won't be benefiting after we leave.

As for pension fund contributions, I'm sure that this will have been said in the past that after you leave your employer, you stop paying in. Just because the EU have an outdated pension scheme model, that's not our problem.

So, I don't see that it's as cut and dried as the article suggests. But then I'm just a simple sailor - or was.
