"over priced German badge cars"

May be a valid point but there are very large numbers of Brits selling and servicing German cars in the uk. Must surely be worth supporting them and their families.

Also, whilst it is possible to support British workers we no longer have a large uk owned car manufacturer. We have to buy foreign cars, even if made here.

As for British cars; I remember buying a series of real mass produced British cars in the bad old days and what a load of rusting junk they turned out to be. My Morris Ital, bt from new, had pierced rust on both front wings in only 18mths.

I love German cars so why shouldn't I be allowed to buy one if i like. Comfortable, stylish and built to cope with the Autobahns, so they take British roads in their stride.

I would like to know what robwt and Jacko think this girl is guilty of?

If we make her a criminal should all spouses be criminals? Is leaving the country for Syria suddenly illegal?

Pathetic, medieval thinking. I guess I shouldn't expect anything different from the low achievers.

Perhaps she should use the EU laws on human rights. ;)

That would see her back in this country. Two fingers up to the likes of Jacko and robwt. LOL

You lost Minerve...bout time you got over it. As you say nearly 3 years ago. Hard Brexit. LEAVE and WTO. Get us away from the doomed EU and leave Tusk et al to their own 'special place' lol.

"Minerve with all respect but was a democratic vote and as any other must be respected. I am sure a deal can achieve after Brexit, a better one which will benefit both sides., not just the Germans."

First the vote wasn't legally binding and it was nearly 3 years' ago.

Second, if you make assumptions that Leave means Hard-Brexit then that is your mistake to think that others thought the same.

You will Leave the EU but as a democracy we have to consider all views or it would be a dictatorship. Sadly, for you, nearly half-voted Remain and those MPs need to remember that it will be noted come the next election.

Hard-Brexit has to be nothing other than dead. Like the ERG, you need to grow-up, stop throwing your toys out of the pram and accept we do live in a democracy and parliament doesn't want a Hard-Brexit. Get it?

Minerve make no mistake, we are not anti_european but sure we are against the anti_Brussels hardliners and the way they deal with disrespect to democracy.

"it's not what parliament wants but the people wants and the people vote for brexit !!
No soft no hard, just brexit"

No sorry, you are wrong. That is wishful thinking by the Hard-Brexit supporters. Believe it, or believe it not, you don't have the mandate of all Leave voters.

It is worrying that after 75+ years of peace in EU countries, that the far right, and to be fair the far left (at least in UK), have become popular. And without the EU, or some might say because of it, we could be heading for real unrest.

Just to take the UK as an example. When May goes we could have the nut-job Gove or the untrustworthy Johnson or even worse, the insidious Mogg as PM. You wouldn't put it past any of them to "lead" us to war. In Johnson's case by default, as he wouldn't have read the briefing.

Of course, I can see why those who are not of my socialist mind would abhor a Corbyn government. Higher taxes redistributing their hard earned (in some cases) wealth. And a pacifist in troubled times! Unfortunately for me, JC is not exactly setting the world alight. Perhaps just as well in these incendiary times.

The ERG are going to have to acknowledge that parliament doesn't want a Hard-Brexit. Time to grow-up and stop being a little bunch of spoilt brats.

The debate looks like it's about to begin. Andrew Bridgen just said that the ERG is having a meeting at 4pm to make a final decision on which way they vote.

Voting expected 5/6 o'clock-ish.
