05/2/2019 12:30 | Make no mistake, those we talk about, have legally executed people's lives, but in a different, stealth way. | minerve
05/2/2019 12:30 | I would have them publicly executed if it was up to me. rational centrist arguments FLOL! Is this man nuts or is he nuts? | ![]() grahamite2

05/2/2019 12:29 | "It's pretty sad to see that many here have fallen for it, or maybe they see themselves as part of the "elite" as they drive a BMW 5 series and take the family on a skiing holiday each year........." Exactly that! LOL Sad, isn't it? | minerve
05/2/2019 12:19 | Graham, I would have them publicly executed if it was up to me. It just shows how much this country has changed in the past couple of decades when rational centrist arguments are now being painted as communist and far left views. Of course, it's been a slow targeted process where the far right politically is now seen as "normal" and liberal views are now treated as "far left". The bottom line is that it's all driven by the elite in order to safeguard their obscene wealth and to ensure that the "worker" is kept down at all costs. It's pretty sad to see that many here have fallen for it, or maybe they see themselves as part of the "elite" as they drive a BMW 5 series and take the family on a skiing holiday each year......... | ![]() ladeside
05/2/2019 12:16 | Probably a tobacco company super tax would suffice. | ![]() patientcapital

05/2/2019 12:14 | The DUP just said, live on 231, that if TM arranges some sort of codicil to the WA during her visit to Brussels on Thursday, that will NOT be acceptable to them - the WA itself has to be changed. Blunt and to the point. | ![]() polar fox
05/2/2019 12:07 | Don't drink cheap Whisky would be the answer.Okay. Remove tobacco taxes altogether but make those requiring smoking related treatment pay for that themselves instead. | ![]() patientcapital
05/2/2019 12:01 | PatientCapital, already a pack of good quality cigarettes costs as much as a bottle of cheap Scotch. How much more punitive can it get? | ![]() grahamite2
05/2/2019 11:58 | LADESIDE, it's not customary to jail people unless they have been convicted of an offence. Or would you dispense with that little formality? | ![]() grahamite2
05/2/2019 11:55 | Denis Cooper Posted February 5, 2019 at 6:07 am | Permalink I see that the liar, cheat, hypocrite and traitor who we now have as Prime Minister is going to make a speech in Northern Ireland, and frankly I dread what she will say as it is most likely going to be yet another betrayal. Whether it would help to get rid of her favourite civil service Brexit adviser Oliver Robbins is a moot point, I can only say that at least it could no harm and it would be a good thing if MPs passed a resolution calling for his removal. | ![]() xxxxxy
05/2/2019 11:53 | I did not vote Conservative and I think millions of others did not vote Conservative just for the Conservatives to get into bed with Labour. The Rape of Democracy is occurring and there goes so many of the Conservative and Labour Party participating in this treachery. Unforgivable and the people will remember. The Parliament of Shame. The Parliament of QUISLINGS Let us have done with it. LEAVE and WTO Or the Conservative Party will soon be known as The Quisling Party Conservative Party RIP Tories embrace the Labour Party. Reality – millions of tory voters will never vote Conservative again. It would be the Death Warrant on the Conservative Party. | ![]() xxxxxy
05/2/2019 11:53 | John Redwood would make a great caring PM. But that is not going to happen. Sadly | ![]() xxxxxy

05/2/2019 11:36 | Taxes are a balance and so is wealth distribution. As for taxes destroying enterprise that is nonsense. Taxes go to government which is willing to support/start enterprise where the economic returns could be great but not neccessarily obvious at the beginning. Private enterprise would obviously stay clear of these scenarios but there are many. So, taxes is a balance and the word 'tax' shouldn't carry the stigma that is does. We should all be here to help one another, not screw one another, no? | minerve |
