I didn't say The City is finished. It is just going to lose advantage. Don't believe me?

Then watch and weep and let Minerve be smug. ;)

If the City is "finished" isn't it an interesting fact that investment banks in the City are trying to recruit more staff than they are in Germany and France combined?

"Min..we give them Billions, they kindly give us some back, they are our pimp. We are the gullable ones being fuc*ed while they get all the money!"

And the CEO received (almost) £100M as a bonus for his building company making more profits from the UK tax-payer HTB scheme. I noticed he seemed very close to Osborne. I wonder why?

The MRO executives make themselves £50M a piece by executing 'efficiency drives' which really means cutting R&D, selling assets, laying off employees and the rest of it. They are now doing it with GKN - a UK engineering stalwart for well-over 100 years.

More of this to come when we are out of the EU - all planned and executed very well by Farage and his other right-wing buddies like Murdoch and the hedgies.

If the EU are our pimps the crony capitalists are our parasites.

g2: If you check you will find some major instances of such errors in Queen Vic's time.

For a start:

Crimea War 1854 - 1856.
Chinese Opium Wars 1839-42 and 56-60.
New Zealand Maori Wars, 1844-6, 1860-1 and 1863-5.
Ashanti (Ghana) of 1873-4, 1895-96 and 1900.
Zulu 1879.
1st Boer War 1880 - 1881.
Egypt and Sudan 1882 - 1898.
Chinese Boxer Rebellion 1900.

Under Victorian capitalism this was the most powerful country in the world. Projects were completed on time and on budget and to a high standard. The government did not interfere in private life.

At least the EU dish out some decent socialism which the chimps - even though skint themselves - found hard to swallow.

PC _ AH, YES, YES! Just like the CHURCH and MONARCHY then.

"However, whatever they want to do about the elite that governs the EU, they can never get rid of it or change its decisions. It is like being ruled by a foreign power immune to normal processes of political economy.”

"Under the rules of British democracy, the citizenry are always able to eject the Government through a general election."

Using correct, clear, factual-based, transparent information without interference from social media right-wing sponsors and tabloid right-wing propaganda. In other words, sounds great in theory but in practice you might as well just give the Tories permanent government. They have brainwashed the chimps enough.

Minford:"Many British citizens again want self-government, as they had for hundreds of years before the Common Market became a super-state on the way to "ever-closer union". This seems a reasonable demand. Under the rules of British democracy, the citizenry are always able to eject the Government through a general election. However, whatever they want to do about the elite that governs the EU, they can never get rid of it or change its decisions. It is like being ruled by a foreign power immune to normal processes of political economy."
