Keyno, how could the vote in Referendum 1 have been to decide whether or not to join, given that we were then already members? Pawsche's post was perfectly reasonable.

Would you say - as a fact no less - that Einstein was a 'moron'?

(I'd better explain as I'm sure you don't realise …. Einstein ignored the 'scientific concensus' of the time)

Two of the most fundamental, misunderstood attributes of science are that a consensus means nothing and being sceptical is essential.

I think I'll leave it there, it is a great deal for you to take in after, obviously, a lifetime of misunderstanding.

"At that point I realised that I, along with a lot of other people had been mislead into voting the wrong way."

Sounds like a Remainer talking of which the Leavers lambaste us for! LOL

Pawsche: the vote in Referendum 1 was to decide whether or not to join the EEC so not quite sure what you thought you were voting to decide - or maybe I misunderstood your post which read as follows:

"I voted to remain in the EEC in the 1975 referendum. A few months later I did the "European Law" module of my LLB - which involved getting into the detail of the Treaty of Rome and other position papers... At that point I realised that I, along with a lot of other people had been mislead into voting the wrong way.

I voted to remain part of a trading organisation, not to become a region of a European Superstate."

bbAll I can see is German modern mafia in Brussels. They control everything. There is not such a thing as EU. The rest of them, us obey on their rules. No democracy or equal partners.(I have nothing against ordinary Germans)

Bargainbob, you don't have to have a grudge against any country just because facts are stated.

Recently, Merkel told Cameron we would have to take some immigrants. When he asked her how many, she said effectively there was no upper limit - if she decided we should take 10k or 20k or half a million, then we would have to take them.
Effectively, Germany was dictating an aspect of the uk which I think should be the domain of the UK's elected leaders.

Whether I like Germans or not and whether I like immigrants or not, I don't want them dictating these, and other, such important issues affecting the UK. And to be clear I have nothing against Germans or immigrants - it's the decision making aspect which I dislike.
