15/12/2020 12:14 | Covid surcharge at nhs dentists started yesterday - 5% on everything. Straight to the gov to pay for covid, none of the extra goes to the dentist. Does anyone actually pay for nhs dentists these days? Most seem to get it for free like prescriptions, and those able to pay go private i should imagine. Anyhow, probably everything will be up with a 5% covid surcharge soon i expect | pierre oreilly

15/12/2020 11:17 | Boris Johnson will launch a post-Brexit trade drive with a trip to India next month, it was announced today. The PM has accepted an invitation from PM Narendra Modi as he vowed to bang the drum for 'Global Britain'. It is expected to be Mr Johnson's first major trip after the transition period with the EU ends on December 31, and is a signal of intent to boost the UK's wider ties around the world. The premier has also invited India, Australia and South Korea to attend the G7 summit of powerful nations in the UK next summer. Mr Johnson said: 'I am absolutely delighted to be visiting India next year at the start of an exciting year for Global Britain, and look forward to delivering the quantum leap in our bilateral relationship that Prime Minister Modi and I have pledged to achieve. 'As a key player in the Indo-Pacific region, India is an increasingly indispensable partner for the United Kingdom as we work to boost jobs and growth, confront shared threats to our security and protect our planet.' India is seen as a key strategic partner for the UK as it looks to forge a new path after cutting ties with Brussels. Mr Johnson will be the first PM since John Major to attend annual Republic Day event as Guest of Honour. It is his first major bilateral visit since entering No10 - although much of that time has been dominated by the coronavirus pandemic. Downing Street said Mr Johnson would use the trip to boost cooperation in trade and investment, defence and security, and health and climate change. The UK-India trade relationship is worth around £24billion a year, and is said to support around half a million jobs." Couldn't find it on the beeb.. | ![]() poikka
15/12/2020 11:00 | max - gave a smile! I shall still go for the vaccine - probably starting late January over here for the general population. There will also be some experience of side effects and drug interactions by then too. No data readily available as to the speed of vaccinations in the UK that I can find. There must be more than the one we saw in the media?! Haven't seen the cabinet having it either. | ![]() alphorn
15/12/2020 10:37 | Utrickytrees Post 324737 "That's not science its home economics Gecko" Ivermectin is science. And the prepare your terrain is basic biology! Why are Asians generally not suffering as much as us? They aren't as overweight. They eat healthier, smaller portions They tend to eat less processed food. And they vigorously purse suitable hygiene! I don't watch UK mainstream television - Amazon prime/Netflix on demand mostly these days. Big fan of Paxman though... Sick of the PC adverts is main reason. Every advert has to have a black, nearly every advert has to have a mixed couple. UK - 85% white. Not reflected on tv adverts at all..sick of the biased PC agenda. | ![]() geckotheglorious |
