We are told the virus dies on any material after a week or so.

Therefore old PPE could be put in a sealed box for 2 weeks and then re-used couldn't it?

ROBERT POLATAJKO 17 Jan 2020 10:35PM£15 billion annual EU contributions. £90 billion annual trade deficit with the EU.70% fishing grounds lost to the EU, opportunity cost £5 billion a year.£10 billion annual CAP opportunity cost. They tell us what to do with climate change, environment rules, business rules, vat. They tell us who to let into our country from the EU , costing us billions through low wage, low skill immigration of their unemployed to us.They tell us how to apply trade tariffs and regulations, for their benefit, not our benefit yet they get instant and easy access to the City.We plough money into the European Investment Bank and they tell us when we leave we can whistle for our investment. They want to replace nato yet we help them with military support and intelligence..Did we get any benefit from Eu membership? We will certainly benefit from organising our economy for our benefit.

Another nonsense article from The Brexit Daily.

Unfortunately they forget that much of the food produce comes in from the EU so regardless of what tariffs and accelerated policy the gammons might want it could be quashed by the EU going equally down a nationalistic route.

But The Telegraph needs to sell newspapers and give the gammons what they want to hear.

That author must work for No 10. The logic is beyond anyone's comprehension who is a normal thinker.

A precis of what it says is that an extension is on its way and firing up the blame game.

More likely the cost of sanitising a reusable gown is much higher than the cost of a gown.

Why aren't ALL hospitals lying coronavirus patients on their front? NHS says placing dying people face down can save lives - but some medics are only using it as 'risky last resort' as one man reveals he had to beg for 'wacky' treatment to save his wife

•Adam Fresco said goodbye to Stacey when doctors said she had hours left

•He asked if they had anything 'weird and wacky' left to try to save her life

•They suggested 'proning' - laying a patient on their front to boost oxygen intake

•Mrs Fresco improved overnight and was discharged two weeks later

•NHS England guidance says doctors should try proning to support ventilation

•But the story suggests doctors only 'heard about it' from medics abroad

A PR consultant has revealed how his wife made a dramatic recovery from COVID-19 after medics turned her on her stomach.

Adam Fresco, 52, heartbreakingly said goodbye to his wife, Stacey, because NHS doctors were convinced she would die of the infection within a 'couple of hours'.

Out of desperation, he asked if there was anything 'weird and wacky' they could try, and the leading doctor offered one last solution - 'proning'.

They would lay Mrs Fresco, 50, on her stomach for 12 hours per day to improve her lung capacity and help drain fluid that built-up in the lungs as a result of pneumonia.

Mrs Fresco improved overnight and slowly began regaining her strength. She was discharged from hospital less than two weeks later having been the 'sickest patient in the hospital'.

Peers demand £323 daily allowance to log in to virtual parliamentary proceedings from home

Video conferencing means they don't have to physically attend House of Lords but insiders say some are complaining about not getting stipend

Peers are demanding to receive their £323 daily allowance while attending virtual parliamentary proceedings on Zoom, The Telegraph has learned.

Although the video conferencing set-up means they will not have to physically attend the House of Lords, insiders say some are already kicking up a fuss about whether they will receive the stipend, which amounts to an annual tax-free income of more than £48,000 for a member attending the 150 days the upper chamber typically sits each year.

Reply?DOMINICPosted April 18, 2020 at 6:24 am | PermalinkThese shortages of PPE are deliberate and designed to harm this government. When will the Tory party understand that the Labour-unionised controlled public sector in all its forms despise you, will conspire against you to do you harm and have no qualms in hurting others in their attempts to do soThe public sector exists to protect itself from harm. That is its primary function. Why can't the Tory party managers see that? The BBC, a defiant member of Labour's alliance of leftist coalition, interviewed two NHS staff members yesterday and directed their ire and anger of a Tory PM and a Tory Minister. Both NHS staff members where Labour members. The BBC and the NHS are coordinating their attacks on a Tory PMAnd the NHS is using this issue for political ends, to expand its influence and to place itself beyond reformAnd the Tory government is assisting the NHS in that processThe NHS is run by managers who act politically. I have no doubt that what we are seeing is a carefully constructed political game designed to inculcate uncritical loyalty to a bankrupt, monolithic behemoth that is badly in need of reform. The taxpayer is told to finance this deliberately wasteful organisationThe government should introduce charges for NHS use in the way the BBC is funded. Each month each adult pays an amount of cash from their bank as they would do for the ethically bankrupt BBC. Labour's plan to create a free-lunch culture has been highly successful. If the British people adored the NHS they will surely pay for it and would have no qualms in doing so.Will we hear clapping in the streets when each adult will have to pay a NHS charge of £25 PCM? Erm, no.Give it to me for free, and hand the bill to someone else.I don't clap because I refuse to be conditioned and controlled for political ends. That way lies North Korea, China and every other authoritarian state that's taken people and crushed their freedoms and their bodiesReply?Sea WarriorPosted April 18, 2020 at 7:42 am | PermalinkI too find this public clapping a bit North Korean for my liking.

Why should the taxpayer pick up the tab 100%. 80% seems unjustly unfair - 100% criminal.
You run a business and have no reserves or contingency.
-----------

The banks shouldn't be arm twisted to be on the hook for the other 20% either.

Seems the argument us between HMG and the banks as to who should assume the loss risk - when the actual answer is "the business owners".

Then there is the question of practicality of physically making the loans happen (admin capacity) regardless of who is standing the risk.

Oh, and the fact that banks don't have the capability any more to assess risk in non- standard situations. How many people working in banks these days are ACIB qualified ????

Maybe they need to temporarily bring back some of the retired/left banking properly qualified people ? Like they did with the NHS. Clue - I personally know of at least 3 such people who could be working by 9am on Monday.
