The government are happy to continue with infecting and killing. Their policy is at odds with the moral values of the society it is supposed to represent. I still strongly believe that Brexit being seen as a success via the proxy of a strong economy (vs Europe) is priority over life. The lockdown is happening just to soften repercussions from going against those moral values.

diku - wake up and smell the coffee. The EU population is in excess of 500 million. US just over 300 million.

Don't worry about the equivalent of the Isle of Wight.

Shall I start posting for you what is happening in Penzance????

couple of possibilities, (a) people are not isolating properly , or maybe (b) the figures are not as they should be ? i look outside and see people going about their business, guess they must be immune.....

There are more porkies in GB politics than Melton Mowbrays.

It just takes a while before they become transparent to all. Even longer for many on this thread.

ROFLMAO

Yes, if the daily lectures were to add anything someone should explain why, with the estimated period of up to 14 days before symptoms show why the number infected has not tailed off.

It is mathematics - and something does not add up.

UK reporting another 847 deaths..newly reported just for today
How would they know?
What are they doing, testing 20 thousand people a day?...counting the bodies?
There is a lock down in force you know..stop getting infected, and
Stop dying..it's a mild infection, you might not even know if you had it, even when it kills you!

Minnie 2- it takes a little patience and lots of understanding to learn. Your numpty does have a lot of both patience and understanding. Numpty is a qualified electronics engineer and a good diagnostician.

on testing..

JOHN: Should there be a major testing regime in place where the whole population is tested, and should that be a prerequisite for us coming out?
[34:28.17] WITTKOWSKI: Any answer with two letters will do. No.
[34:36.02] JOHN: So, just describe why testing is not productive.
[34:40.18] WITTKOWSKI: Testing doesn’t stop anything by itself. Testing could give us, if we do antibody testing, not testing for the actual virus. If we do antibody testing, we would actually get an estimate of how close we are to herd immunity. That could be useful. But, testing for people who are infectious means they probably have already been, for two or three days, been in for half of their infectious period. Now, they are being tested positive what are they supposed to do? We are already having social distancing. They can’t do much more than they are already doing. Testing for respiratory disease is neither necessary nor effective.
