I wonder why half of England is sensitive about Scottish independence though? Were not too bothered about India, N Ireland, Hong Kong etc

It has a special place in your hearts really. You would feel, as less, without it lool

"A strong independent Scotland" is a misleading political slogan and Nicolas Sturgeon campaign is more dangerous than Jeremy Corbyn's political campaign.

You need to go to spec savers, Bob.A National Statistics Publication for Scotland.Scotland's net fiscal balance has improved for the third year in a row, according to statistics announced today by Scotland's Chief Statistician.Net Fiscal Balance 2018-19This is the difference between total revenue and total public sector expenditure including capital investment. The net fiscal balance:Including an illustrative geographic share of North Sea revenue, was a deficit of £12.6 billion (7.0% of GDP).Excluding North Sea revenue, was a deficit of £14.1 billion (8.5% of GDP).For the UK, was a deficit of £23.5 billion (1.1% of GDP).

Ofcourse it does Bobster, it's amazing what a country can achieve when as many as 10% of the population are net contributors to the public purse.

Just to get things clear . Scotland runs a balanced budget.

It is the part that is run by Westminister that is in deficit. Ie all civil servants in London , Scotlands pays , all infrastructure in England Scotland pays , Trident Scotland pays etc .

Like the Clinton's running down the states when they've moved their money into China Crankie will be shorting the UK.

Its not even Scotlands oil,it belongs to the 66.4 M people of the UK, They can have 8% of basesd on population figures. If they want their overdraft scratching we'll have the lot and they'll have to give us all the gas fracking rights as well.

You and that sturgeon woman are making the logical error of taking out a set of voters from a bigger set of voters and assume the smaller set would have voted the same way in a smaller set vote than it did in the bigger set vote. It's the sort of illogical nonsense politicians use for their own ends, disingenuously.

For example, some scots may vote differently in a scottish in/out eu vote than a uk in/out eu vote. (That's obvious isn't it?)

Nikola Sturgeon, if she is a honest politician, must go to Brussels and ask under what economic and other conditions and how long they will have to wait before been accepted as a new member of EU... then comeback and tell the 45% Scottish people which they vote for them the truth. Brussels does not care about Scotland.. Brussels wants a deal with the UK as a union. Scotland, economically means nothing to Brussels, only expenses...

Why don't you understand that scotland hasn't had a vote on eu membership?

Why don't you understand 'she does not accept the uk vote' is meaningless?

They are just very simple facts.

Tbf, I do support another referendum on the grounds that Metropolitan Cameron gave assurances that Scotland would remain in the EU if they voted to remain in the Union.
However, I think Crankie should get assurances from the EU that Scotland would be allowed entry when their finances are so appalling & well wide of the perimeters expected from Brussels. I think they're even worse than Turkeys which would set an unlikely president!
Scotlands only option imo is to get their finances in order to meet EU guidelines then ask the question of the electorate. After all the UK's austerity programme post 2008 was necessary to do just that, something which is lost on Scotland who have continued to spend money like confetti and slag off their benefactors to boot. NOT ACCEPTABLE!
