My comment was one of wishful thinking rather than one of prediction. I am sick of these dunderheads unable to reach compromise.

CP - I will answer your post but don't understand your question.

edit: I shall have a go - tell me if I have misread your post.

- have never got your point about holding LLOY and wanting Brexit. I don't see a conflict.
No 'conflict' but very dependent on the type of Exit.

- I hold LLOY as a hedge against my dollar earning shares. If we get hard Brexit / no deal the £ will fall and my portfolio will grow.
Yes, GBP will fall and $ earners will rise.

- If we don't get Brexit the £ and LLOY will rise and offset losses.
Losses in the $ earners? Yes.

- All as I see it and could be wrong in my assumptions needless to say.
True for all of us!
----------------------------------

CP - my posts, on this and other threads I split what I am doing and what I believe.
- I believe that a hard /No Deal Exit is wrong for the country.
- However in financial terms I am heavily (very heavily) skewed so that in pure monetary terms a good outcome for me. I would happily give up this gain to have the above.

Any clarity???

There will not be a general election.
The general election is 3 years away.
Why anyone thinks the Tories will give Corbyn a chance of power baffles me.

All indicative options fail to get a majority.
But Ken Clark's customs union came very close.(3)
Confirmation referendum also closer.

Clark just spoke, what a class act he is.
This afternoons speech by him was a master class. Educational.

Too many options split the vote, they should add the customs union to Mays deal and they could get it through.

This is coalition politics now, compromise is needed. Hope May's cabinet just for once, makes the right call.

The more people and companies that support UK workers the better.

willoicc - so you are saying that we should boycott German made products.
Will you be writing to Lloyds to ask them to halt its modernisation of its payments technology for corporate and institutional clients? The bank had (recently) signed for SAP’s cash management and payments platform.
Can you still hold shares in Lloyds?

It's all part of the game. Every year, you can bet money, that there will be someone at the airport returning home with their arm in a sling or a pot on their foot etc.

Then again, life is full of dangers. Think of those poor people in London, going about their business and some madman randomly stabs them in the back.

Anyway, thank you for your thoughts and hopefully should be better in a couple of weeks.

willoicc - oh really! Although an expat I buy British. Sold the Aston as you never were sure that you would arrive - eg dropped valve guide at 20k miles; Range Rover (4th now) huge repair bills; XJ (4th now) so far so good but previous ones horrendous.
I love the looks but they do not sell on quality."

Ah the old Remoaner I'm more successful than you line(implied from the egotistical revelations of ones car spend)

Skiing was OK, 5 days of blue skies. Only problem was on the second day, on a gentle blue and for no reason I can fathom, both skis came off together and caused me to fall on my shoulder. Nothing broken but still aches now and arm a bit weak. I think the bindings were incorrectly adjusted but changed skis for the rest of the week and had no other problems.

I'm sure someone will be pleased.
