01/4/2019 18:45 | AZ - sorry to hear that; perhaps have a scan to be sure before getting the bike out? Sometimes a hairline fracture needs watching. | alphorn

01/4/2019 18:42 | Skiing was OK, 5 days of blue skies. Only problem was on the second day, on a gentle blue and for no reason I can fathom, both skis came off together and caused me to fall on my shoulder. Nothing broken but still aches now and arm a bit weak. I think the bindings were incorrectly adjusted but changed skis for the rest of the week and had no other problems. I'm sure someone will be pleased. | az209
01/4/2019 18:25 | AZ - plus normally a Getrag gearbox. A clue as to origin is gearbox in German is getriebe. ;)) Did you enjoy your skiing btw? | alphorn
01/4/2019 18:22 | Reject them and Leave. | poikka
01/4/2019 18:10 | Rover 75 ? if it was a diesel then it had a German BMW engine in it. | az209
01/4/2019 17:49 | willoicc - you have problems that you never knew could exist - doors that don't open because of some cheap plastic piece inside. I am about to spend £5k on a new electronic steering column because the remote key does link up anymore with the immobiliser. I became very friendly with the AA until the V8 engine blew up. Poor quality; no more to be said. | alphorn
01/4/2019 17:48 | Basically our duly elected government, that have just awarded themselves yet another Pay Increase for governing the country, are now at the mercy of One Little Fat guy with a big mouth; Gone is ALL pretense that we live in a democracy! | gbh2

01/4/2019 16:36 | Jacob Rees Mogg excellent speech. | k38
01/4/2019 16:27 | What if I don't like the look, price, comfort, ergonomics etc.. of a British built car? I will buy what SUITS ME, what suits the Little Englanders is of no concern to me. | minerve 2
01/4/2019 16:12 | I had a Rover 75 from 2000 to 2015 and sold it because I could no longer get spare parts. During those years I was occasionally in Mercedes, BMW's and Audis and I would not have swapped any of them for my Rover. | willoicc
01/4/2019 16:08 | willoicc - oh really! Although an expat I buy British. Sold the Aston as you never were sure that you would arrive - eg dropped valve guide at 20k miles; Range Rover (4th now) huge repair bills; XJ (4th now) so far so good but previous ones horrendous. I love the looks but they do not sell on quality. How many do you have to come to your conclusion? | alphorn
01/4/2019 16:05 | Why would tyre manufactures have factories in the UK when most of the car producers are on the Continent or Far East? | willoicc
01/4/2019 16:02 | Sometimes people do not even give UK products a chance. How many people test drive a Jaguar or Land Rover before they go and buy a similar priced Merc, BMW, Audi or whatever. Quality has changed since the 1970s but some people live in the past. | willoicc
01/4/2019 15:48 | Fair point willoicc. But I am old enough to remember decades of campaigns to persuade us to buy British even though our products were inferior and horribly overpriced. What's wrong with producing a product people actually WANT to buy? | grahamite2
01/4/2019 15:35 | willoicc - many components are made the other side of Dover. A simple example - how many tyre factories are there in the UK??? What may appear at first sight to be a good idea - may not be. Nothing obtuse about that. | alphorn
01/4/2019 15:32 | John Payne Posted April 1, 2019 at 11:08 am | Permalink All Parliament decisions to leave EU must be rejected by Conservative Government unless it conforms 100% to Conservative Party 2017 manifesto and as stated by current and previous Conservative Prime Ministers. Failure to deliver will mean the end of the Conservative Party. | xxxxxy
01/4/2019 15:29 | Alphorn why don't you stop being deliberately obtuse. | willoicc
01/4/2019 15:28 | G2 my point about foreign cars is that we buy too many in the UK and we are just making UK poorer and poorer. That is why our public services are under such pressure. If people supported UK products there would be a lot more tax generated to pay for NHS, schools, roads, etc. | willoicc
01/4/2019 15:27 | G - agree, it should be a win/win. The idea of buying a GB car body with very little else is laughable - Willoicc needs to think harder. | alphorn |
