Polar - thanks for the update on TVR. My thoughts:

1. Is it too simplistic to say the share buyback didn't benefit ordinary shareholders?

2. Is it fair to judge the share price before/after buyback, given volatile market conditions, due to macro events?

3. Will Lloyds be keen to get another buyback going with the shares apparently so cheap?

Still a lot of uncertainty (markets-wise) to go through before this Brexit mess ends. And how will it end? There was some talk of a number of votes on various EU trade relations options to gauge preferences of MPs (eg Norway-style, Canada-style, Gangnam-style?). Not sure if that is still on the agenda. And if it will be before/ after the vote on Mrs May's deal. Possibly another delaying tactic.

Not impressed with Javid.

"While we have obligations to genuine asylum seekers... we will not stand by and allow reckless criminals to take advantage of some of the most vulnerable people in our global society,"

Hang on a mo', how about returning them to from whence they set off - France. Isn't there something about migrants being processed in the first EU country that they arrive at? We're a long way from that, and France has allowed them to camp-out rough for far too long!

If they'd set off from the UK, we wouldn't half have been called out by the EU tarts.

Simple Boolean Chimp logic

Trump = In/Out(1/0)
Brexit = Good/Bad(1/0)

So, 0 AND 1 = FTSE 50% up.

Carry on Exlogicalad, complete the table, you've piqued my interest.

Against the grain here: Trump was democratically elected by the American people who were disillusioned with the previous incumbent and the Democrats candidate.

He's, on the face of it, an unpleasant sort of person, BUT he's shaken up the existing kick-the-can-down-the-road politicians, AND he's forcing China to start talking trade imbalances, AND he's waking up the world to China's state espionage and state-sponsored commercial espionage, AND he's pushing N.Korea into talks and easing tension, AND he's shaking the UN tree of plenty, AND I could go on and on.

He may not want to be the world's policeman, or so he says just now, but he knows the strength of the US - and if you're the strongest democratic nation, you'd better use that strength or lose it to a dodgy dictatorship.

So, although he's a complex character who we find difficult to analyse at times, without his bold actions the world would be an even more chaotic place than it is now.

Trump is a crook, anyone scmuck on this board who supports Trump is a fool and if you are a fool, you should give up risk.

Brexit over with an amicable deal and Trump gone = Uncertainty over and Lloyds and the FTSE 50% up.

You know I am right, when have I been wrong. I may have said Lloyds 75p by Xmas, but I haven't yet stated that the year is 2019, 100p by Xmas 2020 with an 8p dividend.

Stick that in your pipe Minpervo.

TVR

I see the year-end TVR has been reported:

71,163,592,264, an increase of 8,351,765 over last month. It means that most of the latest Additional Listing - 105m on Nov.5 - has yet to be reflected in the TVR, only around 16m of it so far.

Compared with last December's year-end, the net decrease comes to 809,357,325, or just over half of the buyback - 1.578bn. Another way of looking at it, is that it's slightly over 1% of 71+bn.

If there is going to be a new buyback from March, up to £2bn or so, the net decrease should be much greater for FY2019. When this year's buyback began the share price was around 68p and the buyback average was 63p.

I don't think Trump is a Republican supporter either....he just used the Republican platform to further his agenda...and the Republicans got caught off guard...he is a one man show....

Ps keep me updated on the No 's to Yes in Edinburgh .Stirling golf club
is moving in that direction.Which was a surprise to me.
