And you Min, are demented.

Why should we allow the foreign fishermen to take a catch from our waters? No one else does.

So the Royal Navy are going to prevent French fishing boats from fishing, so English fishing boats can catch the fish and sell them to France.

LOL

This is absolute madness and all for what?

The guillotine would be too good for some of the main protagonists.

Let them block their ports....we won't need to trade with them now we've got trade deals signed elsewhere. They need us more than we need them. They can shove their brackwurst and brie.

Our fishermen and our industries have not been decimated by the EU. It is all to do with the priorities in London which have protected their own self-interests whilst watching the rest of the U.K. struggle in a world of globalisation.

Protectionism will not work unless you have wet dreams over becoming a modern-age Amazonian tribesman.

I dont think anyones forgetting that Minnie though your description may apply to Macron ' I dont want my fishermen to not be able to fish so I will veto a deal' . We also sell them beef andlamb. Would you suggest we allow them to farm on our meadows and moorlands in that case. I am not sure your logic follows. I may be wrong.

Go ahead then scruff. Watch all the ports get blocked by the French and then what are you going to do.

Boris needs to talk to his mates and order several million straitjackets - we need them.

I take it that you had just as much concern for our fishermen who lost their livelihoods due to EU then Minerve. French have had since 2016 to adjust and four and half years bonus fishing while dark remainer forces tried to frustrate brexit.

British fishermen suffered for 40 years through no fault of their own, British dairy farmers suffered for 40years through no fault of their own ( dairy farmer freind of mine used to pour his milk down the grid to avoid being fined for producing too much ( another great idea from the barmy EU.(he finally sold his license to the Irish out of sheer exasperation). He used to have a friend who had a saying - 'Im not growing wheat this year. Theres more money in not growing wheat than there is in not growing potatoes'. I take it then that Iceland, Norway et al are not reasonable governments? Our government isnt saying they cant fish our waters. They are saying we will decide who and how. Do you allow your neighbours to pick what flowers they like out of your garden without asking?

Shirt-sighted and ignorant people are forgetting that our fishermen sell to EU customers.

Why should French fishermen suffer through no fault of their own. Any respectable government would allow them to fish regardless of what has happened with the negotiations.

Careful
Do I take it that you think we should not protect our natural resources or our borders as such acts of self interest/defence may upset the perpetrators.Similarly do you think our judiciary are acting in the public interest when the interests of the criminal are given precedent over the victim as they so often do? It seems very woke

Alp I am actually a big cheese fan - pretty much all types - though got to admit not so much so the soft cheeses. Horses for courses - everyday munching, cooking - different dishes different cheeses (gruyere/manchego brilliant in quesedillas) etc.
But got to have a go especially at the froggies after Micron's utterances today. If its to be a no deal - and imo although you probably disagree the EU never really even started to negotiate. Micron today was beyond belief but betrayed the lack of good faith and good intention. So if there is to be a trade war (ridiculous as that is considering both sets of politicians are supposed to begrown ups) lets get the Union Jacks out ready.

No harassment needed careful, just patrolling our waters against people who shouldn't be trying to enter them illegally.

If it comes down to sending Navy vessels to harass French/Irish/Spanish/Danish fishing fleets we really are in trouble.

Think of the politics of it.
Macron will have to retaliate.

I don't know what will happen if the fishermen carry on as before and fish in our waters.
In a small way this is similar to the Cuban Missile crisis,or when Nasser nationalised the Suez Canal that ran through his country.

Public opinion in Europe would be furious at the films showing military ships threatening fishermen going about their business.

This could get out of hand, they will apply sanctions.
