15/8/2021 21:04 | Hopefully that moment will come at the dsei exhibition on the 14th September... | aqc888
15/8/2021 21:01 | Interesting to see that they have been ‘engaged with potential customers for the system to develop future deployment models and identify how it can best fit their needs ahead of further customisation.’ What we need is for one of these “potential customers” (hopefully a blue chip airline, cruise company?) to publicly state they are purchasing the machine to gather press and wider attention from other potential clients... I think we’ll have to wait for irrefutable evidence that the machine works and that there are buyers for the machine before the share price really starts to take off | aqc888
15/8/2021 20:12 | Full summary from Kromeks Annual report regarding the biological pathogen detector; The current COVID-19 pandemic highlighted that the UK is ill equipped to monitor and track the evolution of emergent pathogens, and that we fail to be proactive in the management of outbreaks. Long before anyone had even heard the word ‘COVID’, Kromek had been working with the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (“DARPA” The onset of the pandemic allowed us to focus on adapting our technology for applications specifically related to COVID-19 detection. This included work funded under a programme by Innovate UK. During the year Kromek announced it had developed the world’s first COVID-19 (including variants) detection system using a targeted assay to sample air and confirm if the disease is present. The COVID-19 detection system is fully autonomous, unmanned, and combines best-in-class technologies for air sampling, biological testing, and data management. Designed to be used indoors or outdoors, in static or mobile form factors, the system can be run continuously or as required and actively reports either the presence or absence of COVID-19 every 30 minutes. • Highly accurate • Highly sensitive • Ultra-low false positive rates • Fully automatic • Runs autonomously for 24/48 sam The speed and accuracy of reporting means you need no longer wait until someone is symptomatic in a group of people. Localised monitoring enables a detailed understanding of the spread of a disease, allows mitigating actions to be taken such as targeted testing and decontamination. These actions prevent the isolation of individuals, groups, businesses and public areas, thus ensuring minimum disruption to the economy and assures future preparedness. Of course, the most effective places for this equipment to be sited is in high traffic areas such as airports, schools, hospitals, and supermarkets. We have engaged with potential customers for the system to develop future deployment models and identify how it can best fit their needs ahead of further customisation. Pilot schemes for the COVID-19 detection system have been launched at two international airports and have been expanded to include schools and other locations. We have also engaged in validation of the technology in third party laboratories and the results are very positive for all major markers, including detection levels, sensitivity and false alarm rates, making the technology performance comparable to existing RT PCR test protocols. | aqc888
15/8/2021 20:03 | From Kromeks annual report released on Friday; “We have also engaged in validation of the technology in third party laboratories and the results are very positive for all major markers, including detection levels, sensitivity and false alarm rates, making the technology performance comparable to existing RT PCR test protocols.” | aqc888
14/8/2021 08:38 | They should hold the AGM with a packed house of shareholders and a pathogen detector in situ. We could then see the results for ourselves without the need to wait for “the coming days” | b00mb0y
13/8/2021 20:01 | Feeling confident Kromek share price will perform exceedingly well in the coming months. | aqc888
13/8/2021 19:58 | Looks promising, AGM on 8th September, just before the trade show where the new biological pathogen detector will be showcased. | aqc888

13/8/2021 15:29 | New article on Kromek's New hand held D5 RIID The Art of Normal - from page 57 | 33mick
11/8/2021 17:33 | not been impressed by earlier videos/presentations of their handheld devices, dynamic they weren't! poor attempts! but, the tech is obviously very encouraging, just need to up the presentation of the products etc. i'm sure they will though. at least they seem to be on an upwards curve for a change! | abbynat
11/8/2021 16:51 | I’m hoping the biological pathogen detector won’t be just some side product, but rather the launch of the product with the accredited trial data and that it’s available for sale. Doesn’t seem to be much fanfare though for the launch of such an important machine to Kromek, so was wondering how important this exhibition is to the defence industry. Is it an important show - like in the car industry where they unveil the latest model with all eyes watching. Or some unimportant event | aqc888
11/8/2021 16:45 | Thanks fanramp, I was referring to the information regarding the trial results to prove it all works. Hopefully they will release this information at the exhibition. Hopefully it will also be the product launch where orders can start being taken for the machine... | aqc888
11/8/2021 16:21 | Looks like ship is sailing here to her in below 20p ….. | strategicinvestor2
11/8/2021 14:23 | already posted by mick Kromek Group - DSEI 2021 - Powering Progress, Defining Your Future "We have a range of handheld and wearable devices. Our flagship product, D5 RIID is the world’s smallest, lightest and safest RIID, which we will be demonstrating at the show. We will also be showcasing our Bio Threat Detection System, which also detects the Covid-19 virus." | fanramptastic mate
11/8/2021 11:56 | Does anybody know whether the dsei exhibition is where defence companies release information about their latest products? Seems likely to me this is where the details of the biological pathogen detector will be exhibited. But there seems such little fanfare created by Kromek regarding the exhibition I’m doubting it will. I hope Kromek don’t dribble out details bit by bit regarding this detector, the CEO needs to show some showmanship and create some excitement... The date of the exhibition does seem to tie in with the date Simon Thompson suggested results would be released and my estimatation of when results would be ready | aqc888
11/8/2021 11:48 | Relieved to see the share price seems to be stabilising at around 20p. | aqc888
10/8/2021 22:34 | Bio Watch and BD21 are never long out of the news it seems. The timing for Kromek's Patho detection systems couldn't come at a better time as far as the Dept Homeland Security are concerned. "The DHS’s Countering Weapons of Mass Destruction (CWMD) Office has been working to fix the deficiencies since 2018, when it unveiled the Biological Detection for the 21st Century (BD21) program. This technology has also had problems, generating false alarms by confusing biological threat agents with common material such as pollen, soil, and diesel exhaust, according to the May GAO report." Failure to Upgrade Biosurveillance Tech Limits Ability to Detect Biological Attacks, House Panel Told | 33mick
10/8/2021 11:27 | Well the full testing for the DARPA spec units will have to be conducted in a secure bio lab installation such as Porton Down. There's never been a specification mentioned as such of the actual pathogens it's designed to combat but it's always been described as ALL etc. But it's very encouraging news and the MoD recently awarded contact opens many doors to full on UK testing before prototypes are sent to the States. | 33mick
10/8/2021 11:16 | ali Specific to KMK: General event: Mick/all - tests must have gone well if they are showcasing... "We will also be showcasing our Bio Threat Detection System, which also detects the Covid-19 virus." Defo not a time to sell now IMO. | dougmachin
10/8/2021 10:45 | Doug, you could read from Kromek's Exhibition wording that they will be displaying a DARPA spec prototype at the event, a military rugidised unit intended to have 'full on Patho detection' capabilities. The MoD have in effect financed a UK military version of the DARPA unit with their recent £400k contract and this project was well advanced towards the end of last year hence some confusion here when Kromek said field testing/trials were penciled in for early in the year. Then they focused on the Covids+ prototypes. ""We will also be showcasing our Bio Threat Detection System, which also detects the Covid-19 virus."" It will be very interesting to find out and see the publicity it gets, all the MoD and Gov and Military procurement bods will have first sight of one in the flesh and hear about its technology. | 33mick
10/8/2021 08:35 | Doug is it possible to quote the sources | ali47fish
10/8/2021 01:06 | Re-posting this - a significant event IMO (good find 33mick): "We have a range of handheld and wearable devices. Our flagship product, D5 RIID is the world’s smallest, lightest and safest RIID, which we will be demonstrating at the show. We will also be showcasing our Bio Threat Detection System, which also detects the Covid-19 virus." First Exhibition - Kromek displays new Bio threat detection system 14 - 17 SEPTEMBER 2021 EXCEL - LONDON "KROMEK GROUP Stand: H2-429 | CBRN Equipment & Services | Explosive Detection Devices | Handhelds | Manufacturing" DSEI 2021 will put integration in the spotlight as the UK Ministry of Defence and the British Army, Royal Navy, Royal Air Force and UK Strategic Command work to develop and maintain organic integration at all levels and across all domains. As British forces modernise to meet the demands of the information age, they do so with the understanding that success on the future battlefield requires integration across land, sea, air, cyber and space. Under the theme of ‘Integrated Response to Future Threats’ DSEI 2021 will be shaped to support this strategic shift with input from industry, academia, international partners and delegates. 10/8/2021 00:57 | RIID - Radiation Isotope / Radioisotope Identification Device "Radioisotope Identification Devices (RIIDs) are instruments that are designed to determine the identity of radioactive materials by measuring the energy of the emitted gamma rays. Law enforcement, customs, and other personnel are being equipped with RIIDs as part of a national strategy to interdict illicit movement of radioactive material. When radiation sources are detected by screening devices such as radiation portal monitors or radiation pagers, RIIDs are used to determine whether the source of radioactivity constitutes a high level threat. Radiological emergency personnel, firefighters and other response personnel also use RIIDs for situational assessment during radiological emergencies." | dougmachin |
