21/4/2019 15:48 | Fireplace - that is surprising, I'd have thought losses would have been an issue, especially at those presures. Oh well learn something new every day... GSG - had heard of using calcium to form calcium hydroxide. Just heat to get the hydrogen out, that was years ago though. So obviously not viable. Your link also deals with the explosive issue of hydrogen. | 1madmarky
21/4/2019 13:47 | I used to use hydrogen cylinders in work (2500psi), never noticed any significant pressure drop over months. Used massively in industry as a reactant in hydrogen peroxide, ammonia, reduction reactions etc. | fireplace22
21/4/2019 13:03 | There must be leaks as hydrogen atoms are pretty damn small thus will tunnel through the walls of the cylinder. I did a little Google and didn't get any hits so it must be small thus not an issue. The wider issue of using hydrogen as an energy storage medium.... boy there are a lot of people out there with very strong views . Personally I don't see it gaining mainstream use. It's too convoluted, taking electricity using it to generate hydrogen, transport + store, only then to convert it back to electricity. There will need to be a seismic shift in the efficiency of the conversions else it's just not worth doing. Buses, light trucks etc etc yep that would possibly make sense. Anyway, that's my 2p's worth. Hopefully it will lead to more platinum use but I'm not holding my breath. | 1madmarky
21/4/2019 12:28 | Hydrogen cylinders are pressurised to about 300 bar, 2000 psi. It doesn't evaporate as it remains as a gas (boils at -252 degrees) but is readily lost though through any minor leak and in an enclosed area an explosive mixture would soon accumulate. | fireplace22
21/4/2019 12:08 | That would be zero. take a look at ITM power for further info. | sleveen
21/4/2019 09:49 | What, as in how much leaks out whilst not being used, evaporated etc etc?? | plat hunter
21/4/2019 09:07 | Well the Chinese have proved themselves to be unstoppable on the EV front. Making it so that any car manufacturer wanting to go down the EV route has to go to China else face the prohibitive cost of fabricating their own batteries. Does anyone know the sort of fuel losses associated with storing hydrogen as a gas (I'm assuming that's how you'd store it) in a fcev? | 1madmarky
20/4/2019 12:07 | I'd love it if that's where the Kleenex factory was based | plat hunter
20/4/2019 11:53 | . . Because Kabwe won't be set up for Willemite for a while longer. Only the higher grade Willemite will be trucked all that way from Kitwe. Concentration is on, "Kashutu"........ bless you. . . | bullster
20/4/2019 11:33 | Rather than do the placing why doesn’t he truck it from Kitwe and use the cash raised to fund Kashutu? At least he can get on with it once Sable is up and running? | goingforarun
20/4/2019 11:23 | Hence Sable Zinc | fireball xl5
20/4/2019 11:15 | . . So there we have it, Colin gives us the longevity plan for Kabwe. Willemite is the key and acid at $400 per tonne makes it feasible. The Kabwe dump contains 9% of willemite because the process could only deal with zinc sulphide, for these past 90 years of the mine. A new design to treat zinc silicate is planed, which brings Kitwe into play even though it is 2.5 hours drive from Kabwe, the 30% material will make it pay. Kashutu on the doorstep of Kabwe will take a little more digging but with little cost to transport to Kabwe. The more that comes out of Kashutu means the less that has to travel from Kitwe. GLR is said to need more money than the recent placing and Colin is signaling an urgency to sell the phosphate asset in S.A. and the Gold asset in the U.S. The future is green, the future is WILLEMITE ! . . | bullster
20/4/2019 10:50 | Just need a few RNS’s to make these things official then hopefully it’ll start moving the SP! | goingforarun
20/4/2019 09:40 | As long as we are making good money from toll processing of 3rd party ore... bring it on. | 1madmarky
20/4/2019 08:57 | Thats exactly the rub here GFA. The Kabwe plant is not for the sole use of Kabwe tailings.More deals and announcements are to come with regards to JLP's operations in Zambia | plat hunter
20/4/2019 08:19 | What a joy. | alwaysevolving
20/4/2019 08:09 | does anyone have the video link when Leon coetzer speaks about jubilee metals at the UK investor show. | choppernoel
20/4/2019 07:15 | Here’s the link Bill, courtesy of Troajan on the LSE board. | lostabillion
19/4/2019 22:31 | Whaaaaat!!!!!Well that would be crazy news!!! Where has this emanated from? | billthebank
19/4/2019 17:13 | If this means we get a full utilised refinery for 25 years, on top of Kabwe, then surely this can only means increased multiples for JLP after opening, which is somewhere between October and February, so not long to wait? | goingforarun
19/4/2019 15:22 | It's all thrown in with Enviromining or whatever it's called.. The star zinc project is a JV between GLR & BMR and was agreed prior to our involvement that feed would go to Kabwe. probably more nuanced than that but that's where to start looking at least | plat hunter |
