And if it hasn't been missed....?

The fact is SB, the Roan upgrade has been delayed repeatedly and the update in mid April Leon is quoted as saying end of May. That's a deadline and if it is missed should be RNSd. What about that is not a fact?

If you create "deadlines" for announcements that have never been agreed to by the company you are liable to constantly disappoint and upset yourself. What in that statement is untrue?

Frog, I think the board have improved for some of the reasons that you have quoted recently. We used to get 6m ops updates, they were asked for 3m ops updates and started doing them. They even gave dates for the 3m updates...and were early on some occasions! I find some smaller cap companies do too many updates. "The parts arrived".....then..."now we've fitted it"...then..."ooh, its running but not very well yet". Some of that approach comes across as a bit desperate and, as you know, my view is that level of detail is effectively meaningless.

It's not a drama sb and if it is it's one where Leon has written the script, directed it and played the main part. If we are not going to have so much speculation he should not make what sounds like commitments. If he is prepared to comment on something being up and running by (around) a certain date he should be prepared to comment when the date has arrived. He only has to include a few simple words into his pronouncements like, roughly, around, about, or say we can't be certain and the problem goes away unless the date is wildly over run.

Froggy

I've had him on filter for months for that very reason, can't be bothered reading his blinkered party propaganda.

On the other hand I read your posts with interest and for the most part agree with your realism.

Keep it up

The "deadline" as you keep calling it, as though it were a matter of life and death, was for the plant to be up and running... not for an announcement to be made. The issue could only ever be a delay ... there is not the faintest iota of a chance of it being a failure given they have expanded Chrome production using the same methodology by nearly 1 million tonnes in the last 3 years. Creating a drama out of it is rather hysterical.

Just sent this one to Waltie froggers

I know that communications have improved a little but would you please be aware that if statements are made regarding an event that should be happening in a particular time scale, at the end of that period it is absolutely necessary to comment on its progress. Anything else is construed as a problem and ,speaking as as a not insignificant shareholder, leads to an inevitable drop in value and concern that all is not well.

Don't expect a reply but volume may count for something if everyone joins in.

@shevvers, I note some discontent, perhaps realism, on the other board. I have been constantly told I am bring negative for questioning the end of May deadline but now more are joining the camp of negative frog! I also note emails being sent to Waltie. I have sent 3 recently with no response. As I have said before, now they have the instis on board they could not care less about us. If some of the instis decide they no longer like SA then maybe we will be back in favour.

Hi WYK, it's a possibility. I would think a picture of the offending object would be the order of the day. We don't even know if the part is there and that is the issue.CheersFrog

Frog, I'd be expecting an RNS next week. I'm thinking (hoping!) that they've been running but are being prudent and are getting a decent amount of running hours in to check early results first. In their position I would be a bit torn between just getting news out or waiting a bit longer to get meaningful news out. Either option is not going to please all of the people!

The "Happy Clappy" board waking up to the possible impact of poor governance in SA having an impact on their investment. Are you folks for real? Do you know that the JSE today has less than half the listed companies since the "dawn of democracy, " or should we say since the implementation of BEE and other economically distructive government policies. This is nothing new and regardless of who is at the trough the companies trading in this demographic will always suffer the consequences of operating within an unqualified democracy.

I reckon the most likely scenario is an RNS in the next week telling us Roan is up and running thus avoiding the admission it was late, again. As has been mentioned, if it was significantly delayed then we should have been told.

Frog, why don't you just take a break from the board for a week if it upsets you so much? Good for the soul and the RNS will come (eventually)

Nothing said on here affects the share price.
