08/3/2022 21:24 | It appears that most of JRS portfolio has been valued at 'fair value' but I have not aware of a definition of this in any RNS. If this just means that the Russian stock market assets have been valued at nothing because that market is closed, then there is a potential huge uplift in asset value coming in the future. Might explain why the Sp is over double the NAV. Loganair, thanks for the reminder of the City of London position. Be interesting to see if they ramp up sales or just take it slow in the hopes that they can keep their remaining investment here. | markus1970
08/3/2022 19:59 | I think they should discontinue the NAV reporting for now. | topvest
08/3/2022 19:56 | Has the 'Value' of many Russian companies gone down? Has the 'Value' of the commodity companies in JRS gone down? or is it just the share 'Price' has gone down in these companies? | loganair
08/3/2022 18:15 | As an Investment Trust on the whole JRS in not a heavily traded stock and it seems to me what is also putting JRS share price under pressure is City of London Investment reducing from 25.92% to 23.85% then to 21.26%, selling a total of 2.1mln shares and for ESG reasons will most probably be reducing further over the next couple of weeks. | loganair
08/3/2022 18:06 | might be early but, I yesterday took a very, very small starter position here. Clearly not one to bet the ranch on at this stage & I am prepared to be ultra patient so, I have bought in my SIPP where i tend not to trade. Hard to determine if the obvious value will ever return to previous levels but, the underlying assets are significant and I believe should be able to ride this out if one takes a 5+ Year view. A quick thank you to loganair for his/her well considered posts | mattjos
08/3/2022 16:01 | The idea that the gas/oil assets are worthless is ridiculous especially given the record price of gas which forms a huge part of Gazprom etc. | bondholder
08/3/2022 15:59 | Beijing is in talks with its state-owned firms including China National Petroleum, Sinopoec and China Minmetals over any opportunities to buy or increase stakes in Russian companies or assets, Bloomberg reports | bondholder
08/3/2022 15:07 | be a good buy for them cheap & lots of gas & oil, & China devours lots of it. | smithie6
08/3/2022 14:41 | China is said to be considering a swoop on Russian energy and commodity giants such as Gazprom and Rusal as western sanctions cut the Kremlin off from the global financial system. | bondholder
08/3/2022 11:43 | Last year's 2021 AGM recording no longer on jpam/jrs website - but not yet replaced by last week's 2022 AGM recording. all imo. dyor. qp | quepassa
08/3/2022 11:13 | News Shell says it will close its petrol stations in Russia. | smithie6
08/3/2022 11:01 | In any case, the NAV at the close yesterday is largely irrelevant. For example the Russian stock market is closed. Buyers are buying because they think the price will/can recover/rise. | smithie6
08/3/2022 10:26 | It's impossible 2 work out !! | amaretto1
08/3/2022 10:20 | se81 Calculation of recent NAV. The method is detailed in a recent RNS. | smithie6
08/3/2022 09:24 | It's all down to Moscow opening .....They can't have a clue on actual valuation...They cut off oil .... game over It's a binary bet | amaretto1
08/3/2022 08:46 | I’d like to know how the downward revisions in NAV are being calculated- they’re either writing holdings to zero or not? It will also be interesting to see if/when shares start being bought back- if they do start at this supposed “premium” | se81
07/3/2022 21:37 | Gazprom paid their bonds in dollars.https://www. | montyhedge
