ITVX have released their June debrief with some new statistics.

One that caught my eye:

“Significantly, analysis of our first party server data reveals that not only did the Euros help bring millions of lapsed users back onto ITVX, the majority of these users went on to watch other content on the service too - testament to the breadth and depth of our content offering.”

“Bringing lapsed users back to the service; and keeping them here: 5.1m lapsed users watched Euro 2024 on ITVX with 3.4m (65%) of these going on to watch other content on ITVX in June“

Clearly the benefit of a big event lasts well beyond its completion.

Just highlighting that ITVs largest shareholder, Liberty Global at circa 10%, also just had their own mid year presentation.

And way down on slide 17, footnote 9, they mention that their stake in ITV has ‘a higher estimated fair value than reported book value’.

I like that Liberty value their stake more than the market does. Couldn’t agree more!

The 25-Jul buyback of 2,634,342 shares has just been eclipsed today! It's almost as if those operating Buyback are seizing the fall after interim results to ramp up the purchase sizes... - or at least very fortunate timing …

Number of ordinary shares purchased: 2,769,349
Volume-weighted average price paid per share (pence): 80.50

The updated analysis below should make it obvious how much the last 2 buybacks stand out vs the rest of the data…
