09/5/2024 08:06 | Market likes it as the share price bid now 75.5p. It's all about the future! spud | ![]() jonnybig
09/5/2024 08:06 | So far so good, despite that ridiculous opening negative statement ;-) | ![]() tlobs2

09/5/2024 07:59 | ITV binge watching the Olympic games | netcurtains
09/5/2024 07:58 | Q2 TAR at 12% is ahead of forecasts. (Wish I could copy and paste the news articles I'm reading right now) Largely focused on Q2 ad revenues. "ITV forecasts 12% jump in Q2 ad revenue on Euros demand" | ![]() american idiot
09/5/2024 07:56 | ITV Buoyed by the EUROS... | netcurtains

09/5/2024 07:48 | On first reading it's the 16% that hits you despite the other figures.. The open will be interesting | ![]() reidy66
09/5/2024 07:46 | Net “So on balance its a cautious buy.” Ha! Good summary! Agree. :) | bigegoadvfn
09/5/2024 07:43 | ON DOWN SIDE: any strong pressure to sell will be met with very large share buyback.... ON UP SIDE: They say on course for a good recovery in advertising and studio program sales... So on balance its a cautious buy. | netcurtains
09/5/2024 07:43 | 7409 BigEgoADVFN Yes - The ITV studios short-term impact has been flagged several times by ITV over the past 6 months so no surprise at all I guess. Just looks disappointing on first read today. Hopefully the markets will focus on Q2 (and H1) TAR which were excellent. | ![]() american idiot
09/5/2024 07:43 | The buyback terms have no market price conditions only available funds and a target end date. It can operate at any price. | bigegoadvfn
09/5/2024 07:42 | Itv studios impact was expected therefore priced in imo. So I agree with the view that the future increase in ad revenue, the decrease in net debt and the pension surplus which no longer needs further funding will all please the market. So I'm going for a nice jump today! spud | ![]() jonnybig
09/5/2024 07:41 | Kelso, you say if this goes into the 80's then there will be no buy backs. Why not? I thought the buy back scheme was to buy back shares for ITV at market price, not just in the low 70's. | ![]() tlobs2
09/5/2024 07:39 | And no pension contributions | ![]() bc4
09/5/2024 07:39 | No mention of profit or of Ant & Deck | ![]() amt
09/5/2024 07:34 | Looking ahead - TAR growing is exactly what the market is looking for after knocking ITV down due to Ad revenue fears. And ITV Studios is a cash cow with the Hollywood writers strike being a well communicated one off impact. So in the future once we have strong Ad revenue and strong Studios revenue - that’s what will put this back over £1 I reckon. Better days ahead. | bigegoadvfn
09/5/2024 07:27 | Ok thanks makes sense. Also did anyone notice the switch? Previously with weak ad revenue ITV used language that Studios growth offset that. Now we have the opposite with Studios impacted by the writers strike growing ad revenue leads the way! “with growth in total advertising revenue (TAR) offset by the decline in ITV Studios revenue” I guess having these 2 income streams is very handy as long as at least one is growing. Both in decline would be bad but that’s not the case so seems ok to me. Lights not shot out - but solid. No reason to sell, waiting for next dividend!!! | bigegoadvfn
09/5/2024 07:27 | This quarter was disappointing(some aspects were good though), but the future looks very good. If the market believes in the Jam tomorrow story, we should be into the 80's today, so no buybacks today. | ![]() kelso29
09/5/2024 07:24 | If the BOE trim the base rate later on or indicate a cut is likely in the near future (the UK economy is not on the same path as the US one), that will give this share a boost. | ![]() huckers
09/5/2024 07:22 | Bigegoadvfn, It’ll be the proceeds from the sale of Britbox (which ITV will then spend on the share buy back) Mixed bag today. Q2 TAR is very good offset by ITV Studios weakness. Overall Q1 revenues down. Hardly rally material is it 🙁 | ![]() american idiot
09/5/2024 07:21 | I think while the cash from the sale of Britbox (earmarked for buybacks) sits on the balance sheet the net debt figure is significantly reduced. | ![]() huckers
09/5/2024 07:20 | Was that because of the sale of their Britbox share to the BBC? A one-off £255M. | ![]() verulamium
09/5/2024 07:17 | Standout for me was this: “At 31 March 2024, net debt was £272 million (31 December 2023: £553 million).” ITV have halved their debt in a quarter?! How? And it’s only £272m now! They’ll be debt free soon at this rate. It’s like paying off your mortgage. Must be great for their overall financial position. | bigegoadvfn |
