matt: That is on one side. The other side is directors are notoriously bad at knowing what the market thinks..... So often the price goes directly the reverse.... Eg they could think "oh dear just look at Israel.." then the next minute peace breaks out....

Net , we’ve had this conversation before and we will both beg to differ , which is fine.
With the greatest of respect you’ve done one study. I traded in the markets for 25 years and on occasion it was definitely a good indicator. Think about it. Directors have intimate insight into the dealings of a company and know therefore for example when trading conditions (like advertising revs) are turning. In those circumstances (unlike a bid) they can buy or sell accordingly. Let’s continue to agree to disagree.

I've done a study of director dealings (using a large sample)...
There is no relationship to them buying or selling and
price rises or falls..

Its purely random.

AGMs are 99.9% a waste of time (unless there is a planned revolt on director remuneration). With the trading statement due in less than a week , make that 100% a waste of time.
Directors are not allowed to buy stock if the company is a target as that’s insider dealing.

It was 17k shares, hardly meaningful.

And directors are not allowed to purchase shares if they have inside knowledge of corportate action.

We would all welcome a bid but that RNS is a nothing burger!

ITV Studios unusually sells a subsidiary (purchased in 2019) - financials not disclosed, all cashflow positive, but probably relatively small amount, no idea.

Also mentions AMC Networks & ITV - but I think AMC are too small!

There will be NO BID. Too many legal and national complications and only studios are worth much, so all those looking for a rescue will be disappointed. It was the Dame’s only way of leaving and saving face but it ain’t happening. BOD will have to take the hard path out of this and improve the business ( and it is possible ) as opposed to selling out
