surely update will still be bad news. Low advertising. Losing money on some studio productions and losing audience share etc etc etc...
where will the good news be coming from?

I expect the manipulation and hold on to a low seventies price will remain. Evil powers are at work here, and have been so for months.

It'll probably blow when I'm away on my holidays next week!

A "trading update".

Let's see if the pause in buybacks continues today. I expect it will continue.

Yes, they may have finished doing the buybacks. If tomorrows update is well received by the market and the share price goes over 80p, why carry on with the buybacks? The remaining £200m will save lots of interest.

No buy back again?

And low volume in contrast to the activity last Friday.

Edit! Volume has doubled to over 9m. Usually everything has been declared by 6:30pm.

We could do with McCall and her management team of WOKEes going away for a month or two.

This would then allow the ITV share price to respond to the positivity in the media sector and reflect that in a share price around 120p ;-)

Two top performers in the FTSE100 are both sort of media companies - (in a very broad way).....

That’s my thinking Huckers. Whilst most global investors go 4% uk I’m currently about 80% uk.
I took a CETV from a DB pension in to a SIPP 2 years ago and am up 32% on it whilst being 80% uk. And I see much less risk in the stocks I’m in when compared to global equity funds that are 80% US with their overinflated prices.

The S&P500 CAPE ratio is up at around 34.

The historical median is 16.

The US is either due a correction or crash or a long period of underperformance.

The UK is by comparison grossly undervalued and while it is I am happy to invest selectively.

And replying to myself2022 had 56 billion of buybacks in the UK. Even that couldn't outweigh the serious lack of buyer enthusiasm. Dumping your beans in a global tracker got you over 20% last year. Jggi has been beating the global index for years. When you can invest in 2 ETFs or maybe 3Global equity, global bond and all commodities 70/20/10 you will have beaten UK massively over the last 7 years

It isn't a large seller it is all the UK OIECS selling to meet redemptions. UK market liquidity is in the toilet and getting worse.8 consecutive years of outflows and 23 billion last year 14 billion in 2022.It doesn't make any difference how a company performed if there are net sellers of the stock. When I started this game I only had UK single company stocks now I have 1 ISA with 2 UK stocks in it. The rest of the ISAs are global And, 5 in my SIPP. 8% of my SIPP is UK listedIt is a conundrum. U k gets cheaper and cheaper and the global weighting gets smaller. You are really banking on a takeover. Divis are meaningless without capital growth

Berkshire Hathaway’s cash pile is now $189 billion.
That is more than the market cap of Shell, the UKs largest company.

Interesting to note, Sunday Times headline: "Buffett's Berkshire takes an Apple slice"...

I would say there is some overlap between AppleTV+ and ITV...
