14/3/2024 18:18 | It Does not look returning to shareholders rather than returning to directors: RNS quoted: On 1 March 2024 we announced that ITV had sold its 50% holding of BritBox International to the BBC for a total consideration of £255 million. The Board intends to return the entire net proceeds to shareholders through a £235 million share buyback, which is expected to commence today. | blackhorse23
14/3/2024 18:16 | Share purchase supposed to value return to shareholders NOT FOR directors remuneration. 5.6m shares in treasury why they needs to buy more shares for treasury rather than cancelation | blackhorse23
14/3/2024 18:14 | ITV intends to hold the purchased shares in treasury. Following the above transaction, the Company holds 5,684,716 of its ordinary shares in treasury and has 4,046,724,478 ordinary shares in issue (excluding treasury shares). | blackhorse23

14/3/2024 17:30 | If he doesnt have access to a frigging terminal anymore , with its wealth of info, finding other sources is difficult because there is so much rubbish on internet. You're reading too much into things. Also, without a Bloomberg terminal people tend to get lazy so ask others to get the info often quicker. I'm speaking for myself here fyi. | ![]() geckotheglorious

14/3/2024 15:15 | jonnybig Post 6738 25 years at bloomberg but can't Google search trading volumes. Lol! More like 25 years emptying bins! I dont think mattewr1 said anything of the sort. You have misconstrued his remark I had 25+ years of Bloomberg analytics so was spoilt refers to a Bloomberg terminal traders/ sales/traders,FM's and brokers have. They have shed loads of financial info on bonds, equities, swaps of various sorts, Financial market news, world news, and an instant messaging system to other bloomberg terminal users. That isnt 25 years AT Bloomberg at all. | ![]() geckotheglorious
14/3/2024 14:32 | I don't think Silchester were obliged to declare anything until passing the 5% threshold? Huckers...we know that, but it did not take them long to buy those shares at a knock down price. The thing is, who did they buy them for? Silchester are a known vehicle as an operative. The Silchester website states they act 'primarily on behalf of institutional investors' What is strange, while Silchester were building this stake with the assistance of MM's, MatthewR was calling out that MM's cannot buy shares unnoticed. Well it appears Sichester have 5%, who did they purchase on behalf of...well, could it be Malone, Apple or someone yet to be identified. | ![]() jimbull

14/3/2024 13:39 | The Butler...I agree with you and Goldfinger about MatthewR, he say's he was employed at Merrill Lynch for donkey's years, but called Goldfinger a liar on how MM's operate and that these MM's don't hoover up shares and report the trades at a later date. Then the Silchester fund revealed that they had done just that and declared a whopping 5%, I can understand why Goldfinger and others call him the ML teaboy. Strange how he always corrects anybody who comments when he should correct his primary school grammar! read the posts, who writes like that? not somebody who claims to be an ex whiz kid banker expert on all things in the City!! He has a few on here think he is the expert, my money is on Goldfinger who has forecast all that is going down now! | ![]() jimbull

14/3/2024 11:43 | TheButler. No, I don’t know it all , nobody does. But I do know more about institutional trading and how capital markets function in such things as buybacks than 99% of the people in this chatroom. That’s why I post , as I’m in a fortunate enough position to know. If you find that offensive , then filter me (but I bet you won’t). As for my question , yes it was a bit lazy. I had 25+ years of Bloomberg analytics so was spoilt and don’t know how to use other functionality. I hope that clears up your concerns. | ![]() matthewr1
14/3/2024 11:07 | Who is buying & who is selling? | blackhorse23
14/3/2024 09:42 | Yes, for someone who gave a very long winded post about how buybacks can only be executed as a fraction of the order book blah blah blah blah, I find it strange that matthewr1 "Mr Know It All" appears incapable of finding out yesterday's ITV trading volume. | ![]() thebutler
14/3/2024 09:33 | @matthewr1 No need to rely on anyone else - just google "ITV PLC TRADE RECAP" The London Stock Exchange page for ITV has detailed live trades, daily, monthly trade value and volume and even graphs! :) | ![]() loginname
