14/3/2023 07:12 | Kestrel probably can't step in this side of results as they have a NED on the BoD in closed period. I can see 196p-198p being possible should anyone sell very much. | p1nkfish
12/3/2023 09:35 | Interesting to see what happens to price between here and results as weekly MACD has just crossed negative implying a weaker backdrop to price for a while. Can Kestrel step in or is it heading lower? | p1nkfish
10/3/2023 17:41 | O/T, Kestrel had a kick today. Oct 17th 2022 AFRN was 10% of their portfolio by value. Since then fallen about 75% with today a waterfall on the AFRN price. IQGEO element of their portfolio will have increased in % as a consequence. | p1nkfish
10/3/2023 08:07 | IQG might have parted with Oracle Cloud, perhaps added little value. Interesting volumes recently even at 214p. So far firm ahead of results. Wider market could be interesting today. | p1nkfish
07/3/2023 12:34 | Yes pf, 22nd March last year. For a 2023 forward look we should get an update on Japan, AT&T and how the Comsof integration is progressing. Should be an interesting one, hopefully with a detailed presentation. | w13ken
07/3/2023 11:19 | Results within about 14 days? Get to see what last year was really like. | p1nkfish
05/3/2023 15:37 | There are quite a few useful channels. Below are just a very few. It makes sense to look into the target market demographics and sponsor or do info-edu-mercial type sessions as interviews on some that line-up with people IQGEO need to influence. Everything from helping FERC2222 to Distrubuted Heat Planning, Broadband etc, etc. American Public Power Association The POWER podcast Energy Central Power Perspectives™ Podcast Energy & Utilities Market Talk +++ | p1nkfish
05/3/2023 11:05 | This is a useful podcast to the US Elec co-ops, interesting to see over 200 Electricity Co-ops also offer Broadband (July 15th, 2022), talk about a cross-sell opportunity, there's one. Could IQGEO sponsor a podcast on this targeted channel? Talking all things utility GIS? A single platform. Might not cost much. "July 15, 2022: More than 200 electric cooperatives already provide broadband, and co-ops' role in this space is poised to become more prominent amid new government funding and an unprecedented resolve in the wake of the pandemic to close the digital divide. NRECA Broadband, a new service tier launched this summer, will leverage NRECA's expertise, influence and reputation in helping co-ops enter the telecommunications sector. Learn more from NRECA CEO Jim Matheson and Chief Operating Officer Jeffrey Connor. This episode is sponsored by CHR Solutions." The big boys in Grid software are starting to pair up and it will be hard to take them on. They have deep pockets and inroads to the larger operators. | p1nkfish
04/3/2023 12:45 | My own speculative take on Distributech, fairly obvious........used as a chance to see what features need to be added to Adaptive Grid from meetings with majors. Find new pain points. Committ to address to those points to encourage adoption. Usual sort of stuff but this time much more criticsl and a larger prize to be won. No names divulged and all public pictures are of non-influential people. No interesting badge names that I have been able to workout. I'd be amazed if there are not major discussions on going to allow the single IQGEO Platform to be used to stitch together multiple legacy GIS adopted through acquisitions in the US utilities after years of consolidation. Each acquisition brought its own baggage that needs to be integrated and IQGEO can certainly help there. Add in quick planning for DER additions, BYOD etc. etc. Perhaps even some Comsof fiber planning capabilities - might be called AI but not sure they are? I'm sure the prize is so large and competition so hot there is no way IQGEO want any hint of what they are upto and who with. Don't expect Grid/Electri ity news very soon but when there is it will be noteworthy imho. Dyor etc. For now, fiber, fiber, fiber. | p1nkfish
02/3/2023 07:31 | Worth a read. Guess PJM are on a target list for sales. | p1nkfish
01/3/2023 14:54 | What chance any new acquisition funded by debt sees Kestrel as a lender, or at least one of them? | p1nkfish
28/2/2023 20:23 | Interesting to see trends in US power generation going forward. Remove #'s, replace with com and add www etc, I can't post the easy link. wolfstreet.###/2023/ "Additions: 56.1 GW in total of new utility-scale electric-generating capacity is scheduled to be added to the power grid in 2023, the most since 2002, according to the EIA, for a net gain in capacity of 41.6 GW, the largest gains since 2003. Of the 56.1 GW in capacity additions in 2023: Solar: 29 GW Natural gas: 7.8 GW Wind: 7.5 GW Nuclear: 2.2 GM (the two reactors at Vogtle plant in Georgia). Battery storage: 9.5 GW, more than doubling the existing capacity of 8.8 GW! About three-quarters of the additions will be in Texas and California. Battery storage isn’t a power generator per se, of course. But given its function of selling electricity when demand and prices are high (after buying when they’re low), it’s for now classified as power generation capacity. Maybe when it grows up, it will have its own category. Battery storage has turned into a hot arbitrage opportunity, where storage facilities can buy electricity on the wholesale market when it’s cheap during times of the day with excess capacity, and sell it during the hours of peak pricing. Batteries help balance out loads and and work well in conjunction with wind and solar installations. They’re now turning into a big business opportunity." | p1nkfish
25/2/2023 11:33 | Follow the money, took a look at the next 10 yrs US investment planned in hooking up DER resources and moves towards net zero. Massive sums. If only a tiny fraction (I mean very, very tiny) heads towards field software tools and IQGEO then it's enough for this to be very well above where it is now. Too much info to post all here. | p1nkfish
23/2/2023 10:38 | Kestrel nibbling again at 212p. I suspect the volumes bought are relatively low as there isn't much stock around to buy without knocking the price up & having to chase. Suggests Kestrel will come in to support should price get knocked back by a reasonable sale volume. In other words something of a floor in place. | p1nkfish
21/2/2023 21:21 | BT Openreach, developing in India, mentions IQGEO experience (may be Comsof), interesting. ADVFN won't let me post the link. Edit - if BT Openreach actively adopt IQGEO/Comsof it will be a big UK positive. I think it highly likely but I'm often wrong. Dyor etc. | p1nkfish
20/2/2023 22:05 | Great idea pf. I've been thinking of trying it so have just signed up. Here's its answer to your question. Pretty impressive. IQGeo Adaptive Grid is a software solution designed to help electric utilities and grid operators manage and optimize their distribution grids. There are several reasons why major US electricity grid operators might choose to use IQGeo Adaptive Grid over competitive solutions: 1. Advanced Network Visualization: IQGeo Adaptive Grid provides advanced network visualization capabilities, enabling operators to see their entire grid infrastructure in a clear and intuitive way. This can help operators make better decisions and respond to issues more quickly. 2. Real-Time Network Analysis: IQGeo Adaptive Grid can perform real-time network analysis, enabling operators to quickly identify potential problems or areas of congestion on the grid. This can help prevent outages and ensure that the grid is operating at maximum efficiency. 3. Predictive Maintenance: IQGeo Adaptive Grid uses machine learning and predictive analytics to identify potential equipment failures before they occur. This can help grid operators reduce downtime and save money on maintenance costs. 4. Integration with Other Systems: IQGeo Adaptive Grid can be integrated with other software systems used by grid operators, such as outage management systems and geographic information systems. This can help streamline workflows and reduce the risk of errors. 5. Flexibility: IQGeo Adaptive Grid is highly configurable and can be customized to meet the specific needs of each utility or grid operator. This can help ensure that the software is a good fit for the unique requirements of each organization. Overall, IQGeo Adaptive Grid offers a comprehensive set of features and benefits that can help electricity grid operators manage and optimize their distribution grids more effectively than competitive solutions. | w13ken
20/2/2023 21:38 | A thought. Ask ChatGPT: "Why would major US Electricity Grid Operators choose to use IQGEO Adaptive Grid over competitive solutions?" Confirms what may already be expected but interesting to investigate this TYPE of question via an AI bot. | p1nkfish
20/2/2023 14:11 | IQG meetups on the way: Japanese Meetup - May 17th , Tokyo, Japan EMEA Meetup - June 29th, Ghent, Belgium Americas Meetup - October 5th & 6th, Denver, USA | w13ken
20/2/2023 13:18 | Have to wonder if there was an update to the board post Distributech that gave confidence for that buy on behalf of clients? | p1nkfish
20/2/2023 13:12 | Another 35K to Kestrel discretionary on 17th Feb. Not bought for only a 5%-10% upside imho. | p1nkfish
16/2/2023 16:25 | Really like the idea of the datastreams and weather analytics integration if applied to Adapative Grid. Integration of disaster mitigation for the Mid-West and East Coast US along with DER additions via contractor bringing their own devices. A great deal of potential capability on the platform. All good stuff that gives a reason to look to IQGEO in the power utility market. | p1nkfish
15/2/2023 23:44 | Good news from Japan today. Interesting bits of info therein. "........major new contract........£1.9 "........new solution integrates a wide range of data streams and weather analytics into a single IQGeo geospatial dashboard........" "IQGeo.........domin The data stream integration could become important for elsewhere too. | p1nkfish
13/2/2023 05:44 | Probably little competition in this space. | p1nkfish
12/2/2023 13:30 | Best not be just telecom as that's the end of the story. | p1nkfish |
