hutch - I'd totally agree with that.

Uncertainty is the enemy of markets and what with questions about the budget's potential impact (notably re: tax treatment of AIM shares) and the sudden departure of Lemos, there are far too many dots to join here right now.

Let's hope the Board can actually see that & quickly issues a follow up statement to improve clarity, as yesterday's RNS really didn't.

I would very much welcome a trading update from the management team that aims to stabilise the situation and give us investors a clearer view on the position, without this volatility and speculation will drive the sentiment down. Let's hope they act in the best interest of the shareholders.

I think it’s easy to become paranoid about shorters, I agree their whole MO is opportunistic and counterproductive but I see no evidence and it’s not helpful to see all issues as shorter based. It seems a thing that certain investors just come out with to hide others issues.

IQE have brought this share price fall onto themselves and you could argue the share price didn’t overreact yesterday, clearly large holders have been clearing for some time which has more to do with todays share price than anything else.

As Guildedge says, we should find out via an RNS soon who has been bailing.

Let’s hope 11p is/was the all time low.

I have been in the markets for 40 years,i have no evidence but just call it experience. When the Stock Market was formed many moons ago ,shorting never existed
and since its growth in the last 25 years it has led to a more volatile and speculative Stock market i.e more akin to a Casino.

I’m not aware of shorters on IQE anymore, certainly not significant ones. Where is your information for that?

Huge risk here.

Big seller still forcing down the share price.

Any holdings RNS will come during the day. Maybe 10/4. That would help work out what is going on here. IQE needs a big fund here to gobble up stock.

Agree the accounts look awful.with little headroom for messing about and now the CEO has left they will need to replace him and it will take time to get things back on track . With little capital to work with and a mountain to climb a fund raise looks very high odds .

Profits warning and high losses look likely and with it a share price in mid single digits possible .

Brokers notes are not worth the paper they are written in and nearly always get revised lower as companies fail to deliver . Whatever they say divide by 5 for a more realistic share price estimate .

I am stunned the share price didn't end up lower. Lemos was the last hope for this company. Expect the next RNS to be a profits warning and the one after to be a substantially discounted rights issue. Without a major fundraise, they will not survive.

Largely stating the already known but .. in the interests of sharing .....
'In a brokers note Panmure Liberum still recommended a buy position, with a share price target of 40p.
The note added: ""The short and to the point wording of the announcement that CEO Americo Lemos has 'left with immediate effect” suggests he has been removed by the board.
The shares have reacted negatively as there will be questions around this given the sudden departure. We believe management near-term priority is cost and asset optimisation. We expect the latter to include the sale of the Pennsylvania site alongside the IPO of the business in Taiwan. IQE has also applied for CHIPS act funding. The shares now trade below book value, and we believe the company owns valuable assets in UK/US and Taiwan.'

Sure, but all of that (except Lemos’ departure) was already known. So probably priced in.

A lot may depend on whether they update us shortly with a further RNS. The uncertainty on exactly why Lemos left so suddenly under a cloud is largely what caused today’s reaction.

A 1.3% holding reduction by am ii and then the CEO departs quickly . I would think some bad news is coming here . Could be anything ,profit warning ,cash call ,accounting issues etc but whatever it is doesn't look good at all . Let the trend be your friend ,more falls to come here

Adjusted net debt of £(17.0)m as at 30 June 2024 (net debt of £(2.2)m as at 31 Dec 2023, net funds of £5.3m as at 30 June 2023).

Cash call would be my bet as the cash is running low in which case expect another 30-40% drop before it gets announced .

Looks bloody awful imo ,lack of direction ,competitors growing ,CEO departing , low cash position and has debt . Hardly surprising this is falling off a cliff . Gl dyor

Memo to self.

A CEO with plenty of skin in the game still isn't always a reliable indicator.

Worrying to say the least and still heavily loss making . Probably a fund raise required soon and that will destroy the share price even further . I can't believe they aren't making money at this point it shows bad management and poor business . There is obviously to many staff or not enough margin on work .

All time low share price tells the story that things aren't going well and today's news doesn't bode well . They usually jump before really bad news and getting sacked

End of the century? Now I know that is complete nonsense you are spouting. That's 75 years away! At the end of the century we will have fricking chips implanted in our heads. Get real man.

Micro LED as a major volume tech has been delayed post Apple cancellation of their project for the Ultra watch due to production cost and technology issues. So sure were Apple that it wasn’t viable short term, that they preferred to cancel and lose themselves and partners several billion in investment. It seems more likely to be end of the century now but still needs some major cost reductions to be scaleable in phones for eg. The screens are superior but the costs would need to come down10x apparently to make them stack up as phone and watch screens. Frankly you could argue that for phones and watches OLED is already plenty good enough. Anerico did reply at the last presentation that the tech had been delayed.

Didn't I read here recently that GaN for power and GaN for micro-LED were both still some way off so AL's big bet wasn't going to pay off any time soon. Looks like IQE needs to refocus direction in the short term in order to survive. Having a CFO in charge may be no bad thing. We don't need a 10y vision at this stage - we need to make it past tomorrow.

The market hasn't a clue. It didn't anticipate Lemos getting sacked nor does it know where the company is heading. We are the market and no-one has a frickin notion.A few months ago the share price was 36p with everyone patting each other on the back. I didn't hear the market predict lemos leaving or the predictions for low end revenue. The CEO with all the companies sales, marketing, financial, technical information thought he was growing the companies revenues 3x but instead shrunk them by 0.3x.
