Way below net asset value. Love to know the story behind the sudden/uncontrolled departure of the Lemon. If he wasn't pushed then he hasn't acted with honour. It has done us no favours and only makes iqe ripe for takeover by his previous employer Global foundry. I hope my suspicions are not correct because they will get a bargain at our expense. The next few weeks will be interesting. I don't want any more exposure here but this is way undervalued and someone is going to make good money.

Taiwan semi produce the complete chips (and produce their own wafers) IQE just produce the wafers. It’s the complete supply chain and is geographically logistically important . I don’t think you should compare them. In some regards producing the wafers is the part of the process with less margin associated with it, as the recent results might suggest. Global leader hasn’t recently translated into profit.

I think the money and time spent trying to get a slice of the American chip act pie will end up being money poorly spent as I very much doubt it will lead to anything. I sadly surmise Americo was badly out of his depth with regards to being a CEO. Unusual to not be thanked in the leaving script.

I think the problem over the last 5 years or so is that they simply dont seem to have any pricing power. The big companies like Apple just seem to beat them down on price. Why does Taiwan semiconductors not seem to have these problems.

I suspect that the fact that institutions had lost faith in Americos vision and were dumping shares has led to this departure. Immediate effect with no other explanation is telling.

I actually think mid term this may be a positive for the share price as I do believe he was out of his depth, which chimes with some of the things he said. Market and institutions wanted confidence and the top two in the company are now serious business people.

Also he was betting the house on big growth imminently and I think it’s become clear that the growth in Micro LED and to some degree GaN is still nearer the end of the century than next year. IQE could have been run into the ground by him, by then.

An interesting appointment in Mark Cubitt to Executive Chair. Mark has had a good run at Concurrent and Beeks. I'd hazard a guess that he has been brought in to drive operational efficiency and financial prudence. Maybe his first report was an analyses of staff, salaries and their value to the organisation. Maybe this is a turning point. IQE finally get a grip on their operations and start to make some profit. Lemos turned out to be a lemon. ?

And Lemos is now making a hefty loss on the large 17.5p buy he made a year ago....

Can not be viewed positively, to me it illustrates the next 6 - 18 months earnings will be poor at best

And a fund raising likely

"New CEO, new hope, new start for IQE in 2025" will do.
I feel sorry for AL, he believed in the business potential, had his skin in the game.
I can't think of anything wrong he may have done. I guess the market is not mature for compound semiconductors. Maybe the extra cost doesn't find justification in the performance.
Taiwan semiconductors keeps marching on. I don't think there is any issues with market weakness or stocking/destocking.

You need to change the header to; "Another Rat leaving the sinking ship."

The market may go either way today. A rise will be the middle finger to the overpromising and underdelivering CEO, or be the last nail in the coffin, sour ending for Lemon.

Ouch, I did wonder recently if he might prove to be out of his depth.

This has turned into an expensive mistake for me, and I will just have to ride it out. Could well be sold as is already under the sum of its parts imo sale price would be higher.

Spare a thought for Phil Smith who is also in a bit of a hole with his IQE holdings.. Seems the lack of insider buys was a “tell”

As some of us said, Americos wild 3x revenue nonsense left him looking rather silly and was ill advised

Sad news and i feel bad for Sweenoid and Crosswires who were substantially invested here. Especially the former who was potentially misled in person via his chat with the CEO on his recent visit. That leaves a bad taste

The survival of IQE must now be in people’s investment decisions here.

Really sad to see.
