Hi I am with you sally as an investor since 2017.Yet to see convincing evidence that IQE have turned corner ,would put a price of mid 40s for end of year that's all .It's easy to dream but you have to look at facts ,we need more proof .

On the plus aide, the risk averse market wasn’t expecting anything other than what the TU has delivered, so that’s a positive and should hopefully underpin the share price going forward short term ✅

Indeed there were some far too bullish and some far too happy to assume that those bullish people know what they are talking about. However I stick with my 55p end of year and believe I won’t be far off. IQE never said this year would see substantial gains in revenue and I don’t know why some thought otherwise, however I do think they will be towards the higher end of estimates in Sept and start to show a roadmap for 2025 that starts to get back to £200m revenues and that should see the share price start to climb. I would be surprised if it wasn’t back to at least high 40s. Until September then…

Predictions cannot be altered on the end of 24 list. As LTS says it should not be a surprise to anyone that IQE are merely meeting expectations as this has been clearly been indicated prior with only some posters keen to extrapolate “any old” news from the sector and attribute that to IQE. At least they are not suggesting they won’t hit prior estimates! But really it’s like some you haven’t already been “round the block” with IQE, you should know by now that without proof you should never use the wider market to judge what might happen to IQE.

It has been clear for some time they won’t hit 3x revenues by 2027 BUT it has also been obvious (at least to me) that any substantial increase in revenues won’t be achieved until ‘25-27, as it will require new business to do this, likely from new GaN business, which will likely start via the two new tools ordered.

Predictions listed below for a reminder of the more enthusiastic of you and also to show those who were labelled as pessimistic merely being realistic.

Let’s hope for even a modest forward statement in Sept.

I don’t like to be right but it’s as I said it would be, many of you were too bullish and IQE are merely on track for their modest recovery in 24 and nothing more. I can’t see what proof anyone had to indicate anything other.

Market recovery? What are they talking about, the semiconductors and chip industry has never shun brighter.
Americo surely did not live up to his own self-confidence.
I'm curious to see the market reaction to the pre close statement.

I wonder how this Trading update will impact the market. Has this made a difference to how the end of year predictions will look. There were very few crumbs of comfort of out performance in H2 and so I personally think I was too bullish and would reduce my prediction from 85 p to 55 p.

Closing statement is out 65m in H1. Up 25% from H1 in 2023

Revenue in H2 last year was 63m. So up 2m from H2.

However in line with management expectations so they clearly expect a stronger H2 to reach 142m. They need 77m in H2?

Trading Update -     Trading in line with management expectations-     Strategic progress underpinned by continued revenue growth IQE plc (AIM:  IQE, "IQE" or the "Group"), the leading global supplier of compound semiconductor wafer products and advanced material solutions, provides a pre-close trading update for the six months ended 30 June 2024.Revenue for the first half is expected to be at least £65m, in line with management expectations. It has been rumoured by multiple sources that the transistor, fibre optics and LEDs were the result of UFO technology. Bell labs being named as one of the contracted Companies.

Another article on Sherman, very interesting….

How Samsung and Texas Instruments made the Lone Star State the hub of U.S. chip manufacturing

Tesla are also in Texas. I would have thought that the US government has had ample time to reverse engineer the space vehicles that they have transported from crash sites (eg Roswell) to secure premises ( re Area 51).
Surely it’s time that they ask an entrepreneur like Elon Musk to prepare a feasibility into ‘flying saucer’ design & production. It would not cost a huge sum to work on a craft with anti gravity propulsion.
Just think of all those semi conductors that would go into such a project & probably compound GaN semis too. 😊

There will likely only be a TU if there is going to be a material change to the stated guidance based on analyst targets (which were quite a wide ranging) It’s quite possible we won’t get a TU

LTS - who knows.

My year end share price prediction was at the low end, as I’m also not expecting a major sales boost this year. But we are all just guessing.

If we’re to see any major re-rate within the next 2 years, they’d really have to announce some new wins by the end of THIS year, given how long it takes to customise & commission tooling. One or more significant RNSs to that effect by December could significantly boost the share price. But I suspect it’ll take longer, if it ever comes.

Doubt we’d even approach 3x revenues by 2027 simply from existing customers increasing their volumes. It would require major new wins IMHO.

I don’t believe IQE will get any significant grants from the USA chips act, but would be delighted to be proved wrong. With the noises Trump is making about China and tariffs, I actually believe my 50s pence prediction is probably too bullish by year end, but I won’t ask you to update my entry Crosswires!

I can see no major upside news out of IQE this year concerning revenues. I think we get no TU in July and just a generic forward guidance at Sept earnings which they say are within analyst expectations. If this big jump in revenues are coming it will be 25/26/27 when we see them.

Ultimate, I believe it helps the company to stay afloat. However IQE needs to grow revenue 'organically' to see significant share price appreciation

I mentioned Finisar because about 7 years ago we were joint suppliers to Apple of photonics parts for their face recognition utility in the iPhone.
At the time the ceo of Finisar said that the company would turn Sherman into the vcsel capital of the world.
Apple also pumped $410 mill into Finisar for the future supply of their components, but at such a silly price there was next to no profit in it for Finisar.
Since then IQE have progressed in leaps & bounds to encompass supply to the Android market much to the relief of investors. The reason being that Apple have a bad habit of suddenly dropping suppliers.

Thanks alotto, though I’m not sure why you’d keep posting negatively when you’re currently uninvested.

Admittedly I’ve made a lot of critical posts about IQE too. The difference being, I’ve still got significant skin in the game here.
