I hope it does not go to 30p, but some of my shorter 'sources' have that target in mind. I would be quite happy for you guys to be proved right and the share to head north from here. I have made enough here having shorted from circa 145p.

To clarify for you BnB the "3" i believe will be followed by 2 figures and not 1, hence your 30p suggestion :o)

If anything the article makes me feel more assured as you say. The lack of defence from the B.O.D against short selling, according to the article should be taken as a huge positive. It's all about different opinions, and perceptions on the future of the company, however with such innovative technology that can be utilised across various sectors I would be very surprised if the share price does not start with a "3" as a minimum on 1st January 2020. This period will be looked back on and seen on the charts as merely a pot hole in the road on the journey imo, dyor :o)

Diplomat,
You correctly point out that the thrust of the argument does not apply to IQE.
However, very interesting.

This article published 25 minutes ago on CNBC.com makes for uncomfortable reading . . . . though other than a fully-justified rebuttal of Muddywaters claims, IQE's Directors have never publicly complained about being the focus of short-sellers.BeginsExperts - including Warren Buffett - say short selling can be beneficial for markets. Many respected investors believe short selling plays an important role in public markets, improving price discovery and rational capital allocation, preventing financial bubbles and finding fraud."The situations in which there have been huge short interests very often - very often have been later revealed to be frauds or semi-frauds," Warren Buffett said during Berkshire Hathaway's annual shareholder meeting in 2006.Wall Street is buzzing over the battle between Tesla CEO Elon Musk and investors who are betting against the company's stock. On Thursday, Musk blasted short sellers and mocked the Securities and Exchange Commission on social media. But many respected investors and experts have said short selling plays an important role in public markets, improving price discovery and rational capital allocation, preventing financial bubbles and finding fraud.Shorting is a trading strategy that involves selling a borrowed stock with a view that it will drop in value and can be bought back later at a lower price. One legendary investor actually welcomes traders who want to bet against his company.Warren Buffett explained during Berkshire Hathaway's annual shareholder meeting in 2006 that financially-sound companies can benefit from short sellers because those traders are forced to buy the stock in the future. His remarks on the subject can be found in the CNBC Warren Buffett archive."We have no objection to anybody selling Berkshire short at all," he said. "The more shorts, the better, because they have to buy the stock later on." Berkshire's A shares were trading around $110,000 at the end of 2006, and its B shares around $73.The Oracle of Omaha believes short sellers tend to sniff out wrong-doing and shady behaviour."There's nothing evil, per se, about - in my view - about selling things short," Buffett said. "Short sellers - the situations in which there have been huge short interests very often - very often have been later revealed to be frauds or semi-frauds," he added. For example, Kynikos Associates' Jim Chanos is famous for being one of the early short-seller sceptics in Enron even while Wall Street analysts cheered on the energy company. Enron collapsed in late 2001 after revelations of a massive accounting fraud there.Muddy Waters' Carson Block said corporate leaders tend to blame short sellers when business fundamentals are deteriorating."When CEOs criticize short selling, it's usually because they're looking to deflect blame for their own failings, and obscure the uncomfortable truth that their long holders are losing confidence and are selling," Block said in an email Friday.Block is known for his short selling research, which led to several government corporate fraud investigations and financial restatements. He has repeatedly argued short selling is positive force for investors and financial markets.Academic research has shown the stocks of companies that complain about short sellers tend to falter.Yale School of Management professor Owen Lamont wrote a paper in 2004 examining 266 companies that had threatened or taken action against short sellers. His analysis found these companies lagged the market by nearly 2 percent on average per month in the year after the companies publicly denounced their sceptics.Ends

If there’s any news it’s more than likely, some sort of trophy/Award for Dr Drew & the team or another bit of funding. You can bet on it with our track record .
Fancy Buildings & Sp doesn’t seem to go hand in hand , it’s either one or the other, sign of dejavo, but this time the the stewards seem to have deserted us before the ships gone down .

It seems 80p is a solid ground for the share. A small positive news is likely to push this over 100p. Provided the news comes directly from IQE. This is getting dangerous for shorts and us at the same time. Good luck all.

Nasdaq was down 1.8% in NY yesterday due to Chinese infiltrating hardware all over the world via its companies. So will selling semis to China will affect hardware and software in the future ? this is probably the reason why Techs are down everywhere.

Shorts increased on Ocado, Sainsburys etc and they got proper toasted. Even as a holder I'd welcome a return to circa 65p because I'd throw the house at it, either way there is more upside than downside risk... shorters at this share price are getting greedy imo dyor ofc.

FYI, N+1 Singer's market round-up this morning notes that IQE are commencing an Investment Roadshow on October 11th.

Hopefully there'll be news flow to accompany this, but even without any RNS's this should bring in additional interest.
