25/9/2018 14:42 | Diplomat65 , agree we got the magic sauce hope it’s as potent as ever , but they are starting to bite at the heels. | grity
25/9/2018 14:34 | Seastork, no to Apple, I'm not sure if CREO is used as yet in production, possibly for GAN on Si (Macom)? Though I'm not sure on that. I believe there are a number of qualifications on going. | poombear
25/9/2018 14:24 | Gritty: buying a Neff oven doesn't turn you into Heston Blumenthal. Aixtron deliver and commission the tool but IQE then tweak the tool in complete secrecy to achieve their own well-guarded specification. | diplomat65
25/9/2018 13:20 | More competition if you can call it that , Now the Chinese want a piece of the pie. | grity
25/9/2018 12:40 | Seeing this as positive news to secure IP on cREO tech for 30mths, with a perpetual royalty of 3-6% of IQE's revenues generated from the tech payable to Translucent. Is this linked directly to waifers supplied to Apple? Or have they another buyer for their product? In the short term it means more dilution of shares and feeds any shorters still in the game, but is this the start of something more. | seastork
25/9/2018 11:22 | "The Group will also invest approximately £15m in additional wireless capacity at its plant in Hsinchu, Taiwan. This project will commence in September 2018 and will complete in H1 2019, increasing capacity there by 40%." That reads like capex to me and I'm pretty sure when I did the sums it appeared to be in the revised capex guidance they gave. | kazoom
25/9/2018 11:17 | I have a query about the IQE ramp up of of Asian manufaturing of wafers for wireless. I saw a comment on this board a while ago to the effect that this would involve significant overseas CAPEX despite the fact that we had not been notified about any additional reactor purchases. Do we have evidence for this? Is it instead possible that it just involves increasing the number of shifts worked to deliver 24h manufacturing overseas? (I don't know if they previously worked 24h overseas for wafer manufacture or not??). This would not require capital expenditure and would also not require downtime for customer qualification of wafers so could ramp up quickly. It would therefore potentially deliver an unexpected capacity 'bonus' for us and could be significant. Any comments/thoughts? | jamesrowe
25/9/2018 11:07 | Finally reached my buy-in price, now a happy holder of IQE shares for the first time since the 120s on the way up.Will double up if we get to the 60s, otherwise circa 115 looks like a longer term trading range ceiling. Good RNS adding cementing IP value for the IQE stable. All imo dyor ofc. | rathean
25/9/2018 10:57 | 'IQE issued shares to pay $5000000 license fee for CRO technology -' Read the RNS properly. | william_quinn

25/9/2018 10:50 | IQE issued shares to pay $5000000 license fee for CRO technology - see RNS. They did well as price for the shares was about 89p. They could now buy back at circa 83p. | nickwild
25/9/2018 10:49 | With 000,000s of extra shares in issue it has reduced our % holding, however IQE now has the rights to their technology. Good or bad is yet to be established ...time will tell. | hannath
25/9/2018 10:32 | I wonder if that's caused the drop, with the price being so low they would have had to issue more shares | davemac3
25/9/2018 10:27 | Apologies if already posted. The only 'news' I can find: IQE PLC Iqe Plc: Issue Of Equity 25/09/2018 10:00am UK Regulatory (RNS & others) TIDMIQE Payment of $5M IP purchase fee through issue of IQE shares to Translucent, Inc. in relation to acquisition of cREO(TM) technology Cardiff, UK. 25 September 2018: IQE plc (AIM: IQE, "IQE" or the "Company"), the leading global supplier of advanced wafer products and wafer services to the semiconductor industry, confirms that it will issue 4,262,256 new ordinary shares of 1 pence each in IQE (the "Payment Shares") to Translucent Inc. 25/9/2018 04:50 | TechInsights pops open the A12 SoC TechInsights took it one step further, taking off the lid of the A12 Bionic SoC at the heart of the iPhone XS Max. It noted the move to face recognition means Analog Devices and NXP have lost design wins for fingerprint-related chips while Finisar won a VCSEL slot and Lumentum now provides a dot projector. Will we provide Wafers to Finisar ? No mention of us NDA & all that | grity
24/9/2018 22:58 | Aren't the interims late? Or have I missed them although I can't find any posting of them normally they would appear to be out early to mid September. | mrx001

24/9/2018 20:23 | Just popped in to see if I'd been 'astracized' tonight. 'All Quiet On The Western Front'. I must say, thecrunk certainly gets around. He must be knocking up more air-miles than Randy Andy. One or two things here I must have missed recently - like, a change of job title? thecrunk24 Sep '18 - 20:07 - 36069 of 36070 [VRS] Bazzerp when you referred to a penniless Zimbabawean refugee I thought you were actually referring to me. I live in Harare and lost all my money on IQE (well 50% of it). However luckily I made a bit of it back on IQE. I went to University of Cape Town followed by a stint in Fund Management and am now Chief Financial Officer of a listed miner in Zimbabwe. I dabble on the AIM. Had a bad experience with IQE and am now here. But you could call me a penniless Zimbabwean. Good on you for hiring a Zimbo down there in the Cape Well done. Things are very tuff here still and we are in the midst of an economic crisis of economic proportions despite bob being deposed. -End- He's certainly a 'high-flyer' and I wish him the best of luck. | regasclockwork
