Yes VRS is a good example of how to do it. Huge valuation as very timely with news/updates/tweets etc. Could all end in tears though.

I popped in here for some in-depth IQE discussion but it's all a bit kicking the grass... I guess the bod still haven't got the hang of PR yet? Difficult to read the chart, looks like an inflection point approaching within a downward trend, can't decide whether to dip my toe or wait for the shorters to pull it back into the 60s...

VRS nanoplatelets aren’t misshapen, they are beautiful with the right aspect ratio for dispersion into other materials. Difficult to do that with a toilet roll of MOVCD :)

Edit: might do rather nicely though for PV panels etc!

While you're at the AGM you might ask VRS whether the MIT process for making continuous rolls of proper graphene using MOCVD renders the VRS process for making a bunch of mis-shapen fragments somewhat worthless?

Regas, I enjoy your wry posts especially when there is not much else of consequence on the board (e.g. when Crunk proclaims).

Cotswold, you are right. But I am an aggressive and sometimes the itch is overwhelming and I reach out. So for now I will not scratch the crunk at the back of my neck as that would be churlish.
Time for bed...

sailastra,

Rule #1: Do not feed the troll. Rule #2 If in doubt, refer to rule #1.

Regas is the cut 'n paste king - he contributes nothing original or worthwhile to the discussion. He has, however, mentioned DS's share sale @157p at least 18 times! In his delusional world, the number of shares sold has gone up from 100k to 500k! Sad and pathetic! The less people try to engage with regas and his ilk, the better, IMHO.

By the way. Superg1 over on VRS sounds a lot like sweenoid. Tone, content, length, technical detail, rampmeister delux. Just saying......

I would not be suprised if they run the same pump, short, dump scheme om VRS

"These 'events' have now all taken place.

As far as I can make out, we have had no feed-back from IQE regarding these conferences. Question is, should they be informing us of what went on - or is that asking too much?"

Seems it is asking too much. At risk of being called a whinger I venture to suggest that the share price would be a lot higher than it is now if management updated the market regularly. In the absence of any news flow they are providing an open goal for the shorters and a heavily shorted share leads to lack of confidence in the company, rumour mongering, speculation and negative press comment which is bad for the share price and bad for business.

These 'events' have now all taken place.

As far as I can make out, we have had no feed-back from IQE regarding these conferences. Question is, should they be informing us of what went on - or is that asking too much?

Good spot Tini. The article says that Luimentum has a trailing price-to-earnings (P/E) ratio of 15.7 and a forward P/E of just over 11. Am I wrong in assuming that this sounds cheap considering the potential growth in this market and makes IQE look expensive in comparison?

If the additional sales come from the photonics division, then these will feed into higher levels of profits as we still have decent margins on VCSELs

lpavlou - yes, it would certainly be good to beat the sales forecast by that amount. But I'm far more interested in profit figures going forward, as that's what'll drive the share price.
