"IQE and TAP both looking strong in advance of results. A quick shufty could be profitable im" -End-

Thanks for giving IQE a bit of a ramp over on SHA mf. We need all the help we can get at the moment. So, if you could do the same on all your other 'investments' it would be much appreciated. Many thanks in advance.

James Rowe - Yea, strange about that Muddy Waters report, if they were so sure, why did they not hang on and increase their position!!

Hi adejuk, just 13 posts from you so far today on here and on VRS. Are you winding down?

Best check to see if you've left anyone under the anaesthetic before you close your Harley Street surgery for the long weekend. Don't want you to return to 'work' on Tuesday only to be greeted by an army of blowflies as you unlock the shop.

richard made me chuckle earlier today with the following over on VRS:

"I don’t think Ade is a very savvy or confident investor, take pity on him even if you do filter him, he’s a bit of a nut job on the IQE board also. But life’s too short.." -End-

Sorry ade, but sometimes I don't know whether to laugh or cry when I read your posts. But, I wish you good luck as always and the same goes for all the other 'gamblers' on here and on VRS.

EDIT: Make that 15 posts today. And, the day is still young.

Why is the PE so hard to nail down? I’ve looked on 7/8 different sites, quoting IQE share price and the quoted PE range from 28 to 70+, each different! Which is it!

As LTH's we are possibly are own worst enemy as it means lower volume daily trades.

SP is not what vast majority of s/h's value shares at, but the price at which we buy/sell today and I am guessing we are all already stocked up way above what is sensible for a so called portfolio spread, so little new money/buys from us.

Big money tends to follow short term expected gains...though a stepped gain (inflection point) has to influence increasingly as plans and expectations become reality.
If media types latch on to the roadshow, maybe that will attract the new smart money, but surprised "new/smart money" hasn't found IQE already, since the £1.40 placing.

As we patiently wait for the fruit to yield it is interesting to read tech news utilising the new products.

If we have some media coverage over the weekend, maybe under "next weeks news", it will stir buyers to get in on Tuesday pre-results and provide some entertainment.

Dave.

As long as the volumnes are reasonably low next week the shorters may be able to keep a lid on the price in spite of any good news. I suspect that they are hoping to do the same with the full year results later in the year which are pretty well known already barring some miracle growth in H2 (last I heard on this board the new reactors weren't yet in full production).

Where the company may surprise us is the creation of new wireless capacity overseas which appears to have freed up some previously uncounted extra capacity for VCSELs in the UK....??? Or did I misread a recent announcement from IQE?

I have held shares in several companies that have been taken over but have had shares in many companies that have not BUT have had periodic bouts of 'bid speculation' which does sent the price skyward, possibly for a short time. I think IQE is certainly in that category and that will happen and could send 'team short' running for the hills.

You would not want to be short when a bid comes in at 50% above the current price.

seems to me, that some "new" outfit (smart money) could just as easily pour into this share and go all-in. This could force the current "team short" into panic-mode, and send the share price skywards. What goes around, comes around. Give the shorts a taste of their own medicine.

Only reason we're down here at ~£1 is that shorters have kicked the stuffing out of the share price and continue to hold us under, that's completely false IMO as the company has been quietly getting on with it and delivering.

Just looking at their peer group it has to come - we're now looking cheap and as we pass Interims one has to starting pricing in 2019 revenues and it looks increasingly like the ramp in production and diversification of client base and application for IQE tech is shaping up v nicely.

NB The management I'm sure recognise they now need to get the share price moving. As every day passes this company becomes more vulnerable to a hostile approach and that could easily happen well before 2018 FY results.
