Just as a matter of interest, what happens to the holding if a hedge fund, that is shorting a stock goes bust. Presumably they would have administrators that would have to repurchase the stock within a short time frame and in an uncontrolled fashion.?

I own a fair few VRS shares but VRS are not a semi or wafer producer nor are IQE an advanced materials producer. If or when Graphene is used in semis (which will be some years away) then the most likely scenario is a collaboration between two companies down the road from each other...

Wondering if Graphene is a threat to IQE in the longer term. A lot of information on the VRS BB. Incredible share price performance there in the last year. I don't think it's hype either Graphene applications are a reality now.

Not my fault that false news abounds - blame Donald Trump.

It certainly seems to be helping VRS [I don't hold shares] as it's up 7.5p as I write. We could do with something like this.

I am sure you are right in that the lack of regular news flow is allowing the share price to drift.

On the other hand, we know that the NDAs are stringent and the penalties for any breach could be catastrophic for the company (and for us) so we just have to put up with it.

Patience will be rewarded.

The Huawei Mate 20 suffered a bit of a leak this week in the form of a couple of front panels. If the leak’s contents be entirely legitimate, it would suggest that the company were delivering the smartphone with a 3D camera setup. This would not be a giant shock, as the only 3D camera setup on the market thus far is the Xiaomi Mi 8, a device that’s just about as blatant a copycat as the latest Motorola phone leak – but, back to the subject..............

They haven't hired a government official, the government official had been seconded to VRS to help them with their expansion into China, and this is the second secondee from the government. How many other companies do you know of that has not one, but two government officials working for them, both for up to 12 months minimum. Says something about this business that the government have decided to put two of their men into a small AIM listed business to help it expand quickly!

Doesn't apply to all shares. I noticed that VRS ["wouldn't touch it with a barge pole" says DS - when share price was 80p - now 122p?] is bucking the trend.

It soared around 8p yesterday [intra-day] on announcing that it had hired another UK government executive for China expansion.

Hopefully IQE's share price will soar when the new CFO is appointed? Or on any other news for that matter. Maybe news is being stored up for results day? GLA.

Finger print may be adopted but it is not going to be the old conventional technology.

Apple's invention also includes a method aspect of generating fingerprint ridge three-dimensional (3D) data using a finger biometric sensor that includes a dielectric layer having a front surface capable of receiving a user's finger thereon, at least one light source capable of injecting light into the user's finger, and a plurality of image sensors adjacent a back surface of the dielectric layer defining a plurality of overlapping target areas directed toward the user's finger.
The method includes using a controller to collect image data from the plurality of image sensors based upon diffuse scattering and specular reflections from the user's finger, and generate fingerprint ridge 3D data.

I am not sure how this would benifit IQE. I think we need Dave's brain here.
