10/11/2017 08:20 | Bought some AIXA this morning, as it was up slightly less than IQE! Done alright so far, GLA. I agree, not necessarily Apple direct, but who cares? | runthejoules
10/11/2017 08:15 | The volume here indicates to me that we have much further to rise today. I would not be surprised to see 180 by eod | mad foetus
10/11/2017 08:15 | Well, the shorters must be sh*tting their pants today! Lovely Jubbly as Del Boy would say! | owenga
10/11/2017 08:13 | N+1 Singer - IQE - Ramping up for 2019 IQE has announced a placing at 140p to raise c.£95.1m. The new funds will enable it to scale the business to take advantage of the growth opportunities in 3D sensing and other mass market opportunities. The group has also confirmed that if the current VCSEL ramp continues on its current growth curve, there is potential to exceed current FY’17 expectations. Our published bull case scenario shows the potential for 81% upgrades to FY’18 EPS and we believe this placing is indicative of demand for IQE’s products well in excess of our current forecasts. The new tools bought with the funds from this placing are unlikely to deliver material revenue until FY’19, however, we expect previously announced capacity increases to enable significant upgrades in FY’18. With continued strong newsflow likely we believe the shares remain attractive and retain our positive view on the stock. | slopsjon2
10/11/2017 08:12 | Apple should buy us out to guarantee supply for themselves if as sweenoid says we make super-special wafers. They've got around $250bn swilling around offshore I believe. $10bn would secure our purchase I reckon and would make me very very happy. | zagrosfold
10/11/2017 08:08 | I sincerely hope Apple will not take any form of stake in IQE after their despicable behaviour with IMG. I’m not convinced the wording means IQE are directly supplying Apple, rather that they are definitely supplying wafers for their use. Whether I’m right or not is, of course, entirely irrelevant as the wafers are going there via one route or another. I would far rather it be via suppliers as then there is not the ‘single, massive customer’ cloud perpetually hanging over us as it inevitably does with all major Apple suppliers and which ends up royally screwing many if not most of them in the end. | hammerd2
10/11/2017 08:08 | Surely we will be heading towards new highs. | verger
10/11/2017 08:06 | The weekend press will add fuel to the fire and clearly we are going to be materially exceeding all expectations for the coming years. A new brokers note must be imminent. | mad foetus
10/11/2017 08:05 | Wow this is exciting! What is the auction price looking like? | owenga
10/11/2017 08:05 | Yes still in auction | slopsjon2
10/11/2017 08:01 | Are we in auction? | owenga
10/11/2017 07:59 | If IQE are supplying directly to Apple (as seems to be the case) I wonder if they will take a strategic stake (as they did in IMG)? Perhaps we'll hear later that they bought in in yesterday's placing? | someuwin
10/11/2017 07:51 | Brilliant news - £1.60 should be smashed now easily!! Enjoy | potential
10/11/2017 07:47 | My view is that someone has come to us with a groundbreaking proposition that will change an industry but they required proof that we can ramp up and supply them for a number of years. In other words, the fundraise was a CP for a deal that will massively enhance our revenues. Because the deal will be disruptive, however, I doubt we will learn about it directly. That's my view and I would not be surprised to see share price above 160 today. | mad foetus
10/11/2017 07:47 | Fantastic news.... | bonzo
10/11/2017 07:34 | Completely agree with you zedder. I think this puts a rock hard floor of 140p on these shares. Onwards and upwards! | owenga
10/11/2017 07:32 | no conjecture nec we will know by 9.30 gla | adejuk
10/11/2017 07:30 | Well done to IQE and the brokers. It was a given in the small print last night that this had all been done & dusted. With Stifel on board I'm hopeful that they were touting it to the big American institutions as well. Especially after IQE were doing the roadshows over there a few weeks ago. This will fly this morning in my opinion. | blueflame
10/11/2017 07:27 | Well surely that puts a firm 140p base in place for the share price? If the only way from here is up then presumably the shorters will need to close pretty damn quick. | zedder
10/11/2017 07:25 | Spectacular job by the BoD and its advisers well done. Our "little Welsh tech company" might now start getting the respect it deserves from the patronising City sneerers. | shavian
10/11/2017 07:12 | About 9.9% | owenga
10/11/2017 07:09 | How much dilution | esther1975 |
