we are NOT interested in Lumentum's 'global' results , which were in fact a miss, due ti the weakness we have no interest in - all IQE investors are interested in is the comments re 3D sensing, which will obviously be good given the banner headline of the earnings release
as I said before , the interesting bits come with the CC at 12.30

shouldn't you be spending all your time running your successful investment fund and less time here on a lowly bb?

I think the likelihood of Sammy using the same dot projector (for faceID) as Apple is zero.
for the reasons I have stated before and for the fact that we know their phones use a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor that is currently being 'upgraded'to feature facial recognition using Himax wafer level optics solution, in combo with Qualcomm IP- read my posts and links

Spent some time this morning reading some of patents for the CREO/GaN on Silicon process. If those hold up that will provide lovely improvements in size/performance, good pricing and a hopeful monopoly on new Compound Semi markets.

Has anyone noticed reputable sources are now starting to say there are rumours samsung Galaxy S9 will use the same 3D tech as apple I Phone X. This would be a logical progression for samsung and perhaps everyone allready assumes that will happen but it is the first time I am starting to see it on reputable independant online sources (read towards end of article)

I bought back yesterday at 144.7p on the repeat of the EW wave pattern and my supporting technical research principles.

As I posted on 30/10 150p is proving to be a big barrier but a retest for the 3rd time might well herald the big move we are all waiting for.

The shorters know this and I would put money on one or more actively manipulating the trades to keep the price below this important chart barrier.

Today’s rise of nearly 5p on volume of only 763,139 shares indicates the problems anyone will encounter on trying to buy large lines of stock around this level.

We are now in Wave 3 which is normally the strongest of the series of 5.

A retest of the recent high of 157p and solid consolidation above 150p will move the price onwards to new highs.

I also listened to the cc and the bit at the end was a disconnect from what was said before. Before the 2019 bit, I thought they said that when they bought it, it was up and running and had continued to be so. So, the no revenue part didn't make any sense (to me). I wonder if they meant earnings (i.e. profit) ? I think the question had been when the plant would contribute to ii earnings.I will drop them an email and ask for any clarification on that. After I have listened to it again (after golf).

Apparently Apple are going to stop using Qualcomm chips, they have had a big falling out. I'm not a techie so have no idea whether this is good, bad or indifferent for IQE, but if it paves the way to upgrading the way iPads and iPhones connect wirelessly it could presumably present opportunities.
