01/11/2017 12:27 | ..and a substantial increase in their forward-looking estimates for the coming quarter. | shavian
01/11/2017 12:12 | we are NOT interested in Lumentum's 'global' results , which were in fact a miss, due ti the weakness we have no interest in - all IQE investors are interested in is the comments re 3D sensing, which will obviously be good given the banner headline of the earnings release as I said before , the interesting bits come with the CC at 12.30 Despite first quarter headwinds in the telecom and datacom markets, we returned to solid growth driven by a ramp in our 3D sensing business, which will accelerate significantly in the second quarter," said Alan Lowe, President and CEO. "We continue to make good progress on our strategic initiatives, and our pipeline of new products and design wins position us well in the markets in which we participate." S | sweenoid

01/11/2017 11:35 | if you class my post - 'dates for your diary' a few days ago as a 'historic' post, I suggest your view is short-sighted ;-) shouldn't you be spending all your time running your successful investment fund and less time here on a lowly bb? the post I mentioned was partly in response to a previous post you had made about the new Samsung phone when you ask questions, you really should read the answers S | sweenoid
01/11/2017 11:14 | Thanks Sweeonid I do apologise I have not had time to read all your historic posts. I see that now. I need to read and see where Himax get their wafers or if they produce it themselves. Lookforward to any news post lumentum cc. | thecrunk
01/11/2017 11:09 | I think that may be the snorters last stand. The news flow starts in an hours time, if they have sense they will have left the building. | mad foetus
01/11/2017 10:44 | THECRUNK I think the likelihood of Sammy using the same dot projector (for faceID) as Apple is zero. for the reasons I have stated before and for the fact that we know their phones use a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor that is currently being 'upgraded'to feature facial recognition using Himax wafer level optics solution, in combo with Qualcomm IP- read my posts and links S | sweenoid

01/11/2017 10:16 | Spent some time this morning reading some of patents for the CREO/GaN on Silicon process. If those hold up that will provide lovely improvements in size/performance, good pricing and a hopeful monopoly on new Compound Semi markets. | luxaeterna1

01/11/2017 09:51 | Has anyone noticed reputable sources are now starting to say there are rumours samsung Galaxy S9 will use the same 3D tech as apple I Phone X. This would be a logical progression for samsung and perhaps everyone allready assumes that will happen but it is the first time I am starting to see it on reputable independant online sources (read towards end of article) hxxp://bgr.com/2017/ I am happy with todays track back up to the 150 barrier. Wonder what will happen to share price today after Lumentum earning call? Close above the 150 barrier I hope | thecrunk

01/11/2017 09:00 | I bought back yesterday at 144.7p on the repeat of the EW wave pattern and my supporting technical research principles. As I posted on 30/10 150p is proving to be a big barrier but a retest for the 3rd time might well herald the big move we are all waiting for. The shorters know this and I would put money on one or more actively manipulating the trades to keep the price below this important chart barrier. Today’s rise of nearly 5p on volume of only 763,139 shares indicates the problems anyone will encounter on trying to buy large lines of stock around this level. We are now in Wave 3 which is normally the strongest of the series of 5. A retest of the recent high of 157p and solid consolidation above 150p will move the price onwards to new highs. | aphrodites

01/11/2017 04:01 | I also listened to the cc and the bit at the end was a disconnect from what was said before. Before the 2019 bit, I thought they said that when they bought it, it was up and running and had continued to be so. So, the no revenue part didn't make any sense (to me). I wonder if they meant earnings (i.e. profit) ? I think the question had been when the plant would contribute to ii earnings.I will drop them an email and ask for any clarification on that. After I have listened to it again (after golf). | fft
01/11/2017 03:13 | Apparently Apple are going to stop using Qualcomm chips, they have had a big falling out. I'm not a techie so have no idea whether this is good, bad or indifferent for IQE, but if it paves the way to upgrading the way iPads and iPhones connect wirelessly it could presumably present opportunities. | mad foetus |
